The first game on a DLC map was in May this year. Why is that!? I spent 1600 Microsoft points, then a further £30 on CEA, only to find that the only DLC playlist was removed. And why? Due to low population. This is because people are given no reason to buy DLC as none of the playlists require DLC. The only real way to stand a chance at getting a DLC map is to team up with a full team you know with DLC, so the chances are higher. This, first, contradicts the whole point in matchmaking, and not everybody has a list full of friends who play Reach. Three people on my friends list plays Reach, and none of them have DLC. I asked why, and they said:
‘Why? I don’t need it because no playlists require it. That and nobody else has it, for the first reason.’
So it’s a circle. People don’t buy DLC because they will never get matched up with others because nobody has DLC. It’s like a crappy version of the Lion King, really…
My point is to bring back the DLC playlists (Vanilla, not Anniversary) so those with DLC don’t feel completly ripped-off.
And even if this thread changes nothing (It won’t. They seem to not go on the forums, bar the mods) just take solace in the fact that the public outcry cannot go unanswered for much longer, or they will lose players.
The DLC maps are my favorite. They did a great job making them and now you can RARELY play them. And for the achievements that require to be on the dlc maps are now pretty much impossible. 343 needs to fix this badly!

This is pretty much what I just complained about in the other thread. This needs to be addressed.

They were on discount yesterday, you and every other cheapskate had no excuse to not get them. If you have to suffer so the people that are actually paying for services then so be it. No skin off of my nose.

If it’s free, you won’t feel forced will you? At the very least, the Noble Map pack since it’s so old and who downloads that anymore?
If free map packs is a little too much for you to handle, then discounts would be the next step.

If you’re not willing to pay $10, and we are, IMO we should get the better experience. Therefore some playlists should require DLC.
OT:
The DLC had a low pop because EVERY MAP PACK BEFORE ANNIVERSARY SUCKED. I always bought the previous DLC, but I have like 5 games in an DLC playlist. Now though I’m dying to get some gametime on these modified CE/H2 maps. I guarantee there are plenty of other people who feel the same way.
After not having access to an Xbox for a couple of years, I finally got a new one and have come back to Halo and the only reason I haven’t bought any of the DLC is because it doesn’t seem like I need it. I want to experience the new maps, but not enough to not actually be able to go on them frequently and, after hearing from people on the forums, I won’t be able to.
Most the time i don’t play Dlc maps in Matchmaking except the new anniversary maps. But i mainly played the old ones only in custom games and in Forge, a lot more funner i always thought. I would like to see 343 make a new forgeworld, that would be used in matchmaking a lot.

I think 343i has had enough experience losing players on Reach to be able to withstand further abandonment.
I miss Premium Battle. They should at least make Squad Slayer require DLC, considering its purpose.

Lol.
I do think that 343 needs to address the situation more than they have. That is generally the case when an issue is discussed so much that there is nothing left to discuss. I hope they get to solving the problem soon.

Devs are always quiet observers, diligently working behind the scenes. I’m sure it will be fixed with a Januray playlist update with no prior mention.
Makes no difference. You’ll just have more quitters. Plenty of people bought the DLC and don’t like it. I refuse to play half the maps. I don’t like anything from Defiant, I won’t play anything from Noble on SWAT, and I don’t like Tempest for anything. I don’t play Invasion much, but I admit Breakpoint would be nice from time to time.

So you’re telling me you’d rather play the loldefault maps, than the pretty new DLC? While the DLC aren’t OMGAMAZING, Just the fact that they’re new maps makesthem more enjoyable than the default maps, even if most of them play just as horribly. I personally think the Anniversary maps are going to play awesome with the slight modification to make them work in Reach.
