I understand that a number of you are quite fed up with the direction this franchise is moving. That’s okay, everyone has a right to feel however they want about whatever they want. It’s really cool how that works.
But there’s one thing I don’t quite understand. If you’re so fed up with all things Halo, and if you feel like you may as well go play Call of Duty or Battlefield or Destiny instead, why don’t you just do that? Really, it’s okay. No one will stop you. You can totally do that- today if you want!
But if you really want to do that, why do you come online to the Halo forums occupied by people who are, objectively speaking, some of Halo’s biggest advocates, and voice that you may as well go play that other game? Because, if you really felt like that, wouldn’t you just go play the other game? I don’t see where announcing your leaving three times a week is necessary in any way to the process of being ‘Done with Halo’.
Maybe you know something I don’t, and if that’s the case, feel free to enlighten me. But as far as I can tell, you just want to complain in a way that is completely unconstructive and frankly obnoxious. If you’re done with Halo, be done with Halo. But if you’re sticking around, try and make your criticism constructive.
I think that everyone who is saying that is trying to open the eyes of 343 and let them know that they have ruined the game for the majority of long time fans and that they want to scare 343 into changing the game back to a simple team based shooter, that is clearly not going to happen because for some reason making a game more like Halo 4 which had the worst online population of all the Halo’s will all of a sudden change. The angle people are taking is the only one that matters in any industry and that is money. If they lose money they will listen but I don’t really see them losing money.

Kinda subjective…As for the topic, at hand people who are ruled by emotion love to talk big game and love to be the center of attention. I doubt many of them are “done” with Halo or won’t ever pick up another Halo game.

There is no need to “open” their eyes they have openly said they learned from H4’s failure and was going to do better next time. They aren’t going to release a game if the beta has less players than MCC. If they do then they messed up again, but if H5 has less players they need to do some fixing until there is. But for this to go right everyone needs to give it a chance

Obviously Halo 4 was a failure and what are they going to say, “oh we made the perfect game, the 87% of the people that quit playing it six months after release are wrong, here comes the same game.” I think everyone is going to give the beta a chance but if 87% of fans didn’t buy Halo 5 you honestly don’t think they would change it?

I agree that’s why I said I don’t see them losing money but if the 87% of people who quit playing after six months of Halo 4 didn’t buy it then things would change, that’s clearly not going to happen though.

That’s why I said H5 beta needs more players on than MCC. Everyone SHOULD give it a chance, but that’s what’s good about the beta they can try it for free. If 87% of players didn’t like it at all a change is exactly what I said they would do.

I hope you didn’t just say Halo 5 is the same as Halo 4

I hope we’re right then. The biggest problem is going to be if the one and million chance the 87% don’t play it or doesn’t like it, I don’t know how they could possibly change Halo 5 in less than a year.
I think he’s trying to say that IF 87% of people left H5 like they did h5 then they are going to change it this time. not that it’s the same
They CAN’T release a game that will fail again. This game HAS to succeed. they will extend the release date if they have to in order for the game to succeed. If they release it on time but it’s broken then RIP Halo

You are underestimating Microsoft’s belief in the Halo franchise. I think that, even if 343 wanted to throw in the towel after an underwhelming Halo 5, that Microsoft would at least make them make Halo 6.
Because, even if the quality of the games are steadily decreasing in the eyes of many, the franchise still qualifies as a blockbuster AAA series, and will still sell millions of copies with every new title for years. So the whole, “Halo 5 has to be good or Halo is dead” thing just doesn’t work.

I don’t know what to tell you, man. If you don’t like any FPS games at all, don’t play FPS games. Same thing applies. You can play the Halo titles you like and not buy the new ones. The simple matter of fact is that there is absolutely nothing making you continue to buy Halo and support the franchise if you feel like it’s a shadow of its former self and will never see another quality release.
