To the people who still think sprint is OK...

End of Post EDIT: Well, it’s pretty clear that the majority of people support sprint and any opposition is responded to with “your aim sucks” and stuff like that. This place is toxic. Seems the community has deteriorated faster than the franchise itself. So have fun with the game and hopefully “told you so” won’t be enough for me to describe the game when it finally comes out. -Yoink-

I dont mind sprint, but I think there should be De-Sprint when someone shoot you, for people who runs away all the time

That rage quit though. I can’t take you seriously any more. Who rage quits when one person gets away? Seriously it’s not that big of a deal.

Sprint is the single most needed mechanic to be removed, does not belong in halo

but

that aside after watching your 1st clip & missing 6 shots(3 at top & 3 on ground) I don’t blame you for rage quiting. The blame in this video unfortunately lands squarely on you & your team mate for just poor accuracy & not a good example of the sprint issue.

If you’re shot within 1 second of initiating sprint it will cancel sprint and you can’t sprint again until after another second. If you’re sprinting for more than a second and you start to see the streaks go by you as you’re reaching full speed, thats when the bullets don’t stop you from sprinting. Basically you reach full speed while sprinting and it allows you to slide, spartan charge, and run while bullets don’t cancel your sprint however your shield won’t regenerate until you stop sprinting.

This is probably the case for some where you are shooting someone that is sprinting at full speed and they aren’t slowed down and are able to get away.

*If they made sprint work in that case where you’d slow down a percentage amount each time you are shot and it decreases you to regular speed after so many shots, then that could be a fair tradeoff (also certain weapons could slow you down faster than others like sniper or even shots to the legs).

There are many ways they could improve on this system rather than remove it entirely.

That still doesn’t fix the problem of a very slow base movement speed which is so slow simply because of sprint. If you are out in the open and can’t sprint, you are dead because the slow non-sprinting speed won’t let you get to cover. Remove sprint completely, increase the normal movement speed and that isn’t as much of a problem. It still is a problem becaus of how big the maps are now which is another thing that is entirely sprints fault. Sprint causes so many problems in halo, I don’t see why we can’t get an official word on it.

What are the good things about sprint?

Why would people rather have a slow walking speed and have sprint than have a fast walking speed without sprint in the game?

The first time it happens, I’ll let it go. The 100th, 200th, 1,000th time it happens… yeah. Having this happen gets old fast.

I guess I am the problem then.

Dont let the door hit you on the way out.

Sprint sucks, but none of those clips show the real issues with it.

Well, I guess they do because the main issue is map design

If you want my honest opinion you just suck at the game so stop complaining… I’m sorry if that offends you but if you are going to complain that the game is broken then at least be good at it…

I rarely have an issue with people getting away with sprint and when I do its because I’M not landing MY shots not cause he’s running away

Wow. It’s almost like your most played halo game is Halo 4 and you think halo should stem off that game… Oh wait! It is!

And the maps are designed like that to cater for sprint and clamber  it goes full circle hurray!

In just the first page people say, “Do ‘x’ to fix sprint.”

There is no fixing sprint. Sprint, as we know it, will not work in Halo. It just doesn’t. Sure, the first clip, he could have landed more shots, but the clip on Empire where he had to sprint after the guy to finish the kill, that is a great example of the “run away” problem with sprint. The opponent should have died in that top room. He over extended, missed two sniper shots, then was still almost able to almost get away. That’s while he was getting shot as indicated by the hit markers as well. Great example clip.

The thruster clip, in my opinion, wasn’t really a bad thing. Your shot might have missed a bullet or two with the BR spread, and that was a good play on his part. I will say the distance on the thruster does need toned down, but the thruster isn’t as bad as people are making out to be. It’s just not the greatest in it’s current form. Less distance, longer cool down, the ability to shoot while thrusting, and I think thrusters will be ok.

However, thrusters AND sprint make for a very terrible time. People just thrust into cover and sprint away. That’s my main gripe about thrusters at this point. They help promote and enable sprint as a defensive option.

I really don’t see the problem. Really.

One person got away! Terrible game. There is a light effect that makes part of the map hard to see! It’s atrocious, because no other map ever used any sort of effect to lower the visibility in a certain area (such as fog).

Come on, calm yourself a bit

Dude, you rage quitted because someone got away? Do you just expect the to stand there?

The quit on the 1st clip was pretty hilarious though.

Also like how your teammate basically called you an idiot wasting a sniper shot at the sun glare location.

As for your assassination I guess you hit the player too much on the left side of their back thus it didnt count?

I call complete bull on this. There is no way that people never get away from you because of sprint, unless you are playing the most god awful people who just run strait at you all the time and don’t think. There are pros who stream (or used to before they realized the game wasn’t a waste of time) who would constantly have people just run away, and they would land all their shots. Just because he misses a shot or two doesn’t mean he sucks. The game caters to people who can’t shoot by allowing them the option to abandon the battle and run away faster than their opponent can chase them. It’s pretty pathetic that people don’t get it when it’s put right in front of them, clear as day. This guy had to lower his gun to keep up with him, which means that while the player was in his sights, he couldn’t land shots anyways.

In none of those instances were you deprived of a clean kill because of the game mechanics.

You were deprived of a kill because you didn’t land even a 5 shot on those players and were then outplayed and made a fool of.

I don’t enjoy sprint, but these clips just embarrass you by displaying your poor gameplay and then to salt your own wound you QQ about it on the forum.

Adapt. Play smarter. Land your shots. n00bs chase.

Sincerely,

Not a previously colonel grade 2.

Come on now, if you are gonna insult someone at least get your facts straight mate. Lest you end up looking like the fool instead.

Nice try…

Because we know how extensive the game history is on this website…

Besides my first Halo game was called Marathon
