I can’t see how you think this is a perfect game. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion of course. I do feel like the core game mechanics are fun but just not halo to me. I’ve put days into this game literally. I think I can say ik this game pretty well at least from a game play point. And I’ve put days into every other halo (except reach and 4 because well…ehhhh) just when I play halo 5, then go play the original trilogy it feels so different. The core game play isnt right to me. Sprint and all the SA’s (spartan ability) are of course the main factor. Whether you like it or not sprint and SA’s change the game. Now whether you like that change is up to anyone. I personally feel old game play compared to our new game play is much better or at least more true to what a halo game should feel like. But I’m glad you enjoy h5. I just hope (cause mcc was a flop and I’m still not content) that someday 343 will return to the original formula. And also some say it has arena so what’s the difference. It’s like old halo again. No its not. Map design and weapon balancing go into play a lot. Weapon balance is pretty solid in h5 I’ll admit. But that’s not the point. SA’s change map design which changes the Halo formula you got from the og trilogy. …and omg lol don’t get me started on reqs and micro transactions. There plenty of people who have lists the go on as long as I am tall (6’0) and it’s ridiculous how mediocre this game is compared to the market and the past halos
I get what you are saying, but COD gets blasted for making the same game over and over with better graphics. What’s a developer to do?

I’d say codsomething main problem isn’t that it’s exactly the same, look at cod 4 and look at cod blackout 3… they look nothing a like apart from its easy to kill and that builds up a streak ability. CALL OF DUTY suffers from being released far to frequently even though the game has changed over time player don’t notice because they get a slightly changed game each year. It’s like putting a frog in a pot and slowly bringing it boil. Not really a fan of cod but I can see how each game differs.
There will never be a perfect game. There are people who hate the classics and love the new Halos. There are people who love the classics and hate the new Halos. And there are those who love both. As much as I would like for Halo to stick near the classics, I’m glad that it changes every once in awhile. It’s like this, you eat potato salad for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. You love it, but over time, the taste can get dull. So you start adding pepper, more mayonnaise, or whatever to get it tasting good again. But if you change it too much, you can get mashed potatoes or french fries. There’s no possible way to please everyone. You just gotta do what you think is best and hope for the best. There will be critics and there will be lovers. You can’t please everyone, but you can’t be afraid either…
EDIT: Holy crap… I just got myself hungry…
Halo 5 isn’t perfect, neither are the first 3 Halo games
There are people that thought all the other Halo games were perfect. It’s how games are. I find myself enjoying the games as they all feel Halo to me. Others would say different.

We haven’t had a Halo game since 2010.
Nothing is perfect. But you can sometimes get close, but it’s up to personal point of view.

Racing games. The Warthog was painfully recreated from its real world counterpart. Same with the Mongoose and the Scorpion. The Banshee required some imagination however
