I will first start off by saying that I know there are some problems with various parts of the game like Custom Games and Kill-cams and what not. But I’m able to look past all that and enjoy the game…now to the reason I made this thread…
I dare YOU to make a Halo game that appeases to EVERY SINGLE Halo fan out there. It is statistically impossible. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes in everything. So if you add something or remove something, you’ll ALWAYS have players saying “Oh why did you put this in?”, “Why is ‘this’ in the game but not ‘this’?”. “Learn how to make a game herp derp.”
What I’m really trying to say is, ease off on 343i a little bit. Sure the game isn’t perfect, but it is overall a good game and I enjoy it. You can find ways around the custom game limitations as me and my friends have. It’s not that hard to do but everyone just keeps whining on the forums instead of actually thinking about how THEY can change.
> I dare anyone to fill in big shoes to any company and have their first game live up to the legacy past games made.
Except that 343 is populated by designers that HAVE made games before, and a lot of them are former bungie employees. There are no excuses for this poor performance.
> I dare anyone to fill in big shoes to any company and have their first game live up to the legacy past games made.
Exactly. People are acting as if this game should have been perfect. It’s 343’s first game. Sure a lot of people at 343 have worked on other games but it’s their first game as a team. It’s not going to be perfect.
Another thing that annoys me is that people think 343 can just release a title update to instantly fix every single problem with the game.

Like Frankie/Angel have said before, you can count the amount of ex-Bungie employees on one hand. Also, just because they have designers who have made games before doesn’t instantly mean that they’ll make an extremely good game. Most game studios have veteran game designers and still, no game is perfect. Hell, Halo 2’s online multiplayer was appalling when the game first came out, but it got a hell of a lot better in the months to come. Halo 4 has only been out for 2 weeks.

Exactly. Some of them have been invloved in the Halo making process before
> Umm… but A LOT of people are complaining about the game make. Do y’all not realize this?
Yes a lot of people may be complaining, but there are still other people who actually enjoy the game. And as I said, I know there are problems with the game but I am able to look past them.

That’s the thing. It isn’t a “poor performance”. It’s a good game, but like it was said, you can’t please everyone.

lol beat me to it.
But actually OP, 343i are in the business of making games. We are the consumers, and as the customers we’re just exercising what we believe to be faults with the game. If you don’t like a thread, don’t click on it, don’t read it.
343i had to just look at what made Halo CE, 2, and 3 great and expand on that.
Yes you can’t please everyone, but straying so far away from what made Halo special will undoubtedly cause problems for people following Halo since CE days.

When your spending time trying to reinvent the wheel and failing? Why not let them know that its not meeting expectations when Halo 2/3 had it very close to perfect. They already had the halo base formula for success, only needing to add a few spices. Instead, they changed the entire formula.

This. These new features only created an aggravating play style

Yes but what are the positions of the Bungie employees? Last I checked, most of them were programmers and artists for 343 while entirely new people are in charge. If any of the people in charge are former Bungie employees, his/her ideas and suggestions aren’t automatically thrown into the game, they are voted upon.
Halo 4 isn’t so poor. It’s not a reskin of the most recent halo game.

This is more or less the problem(I’m not counting reach as the most recent because it was just as bad, let’s go with 2/3). There was no need to try to change the tried and true halo formula. The reason Halo is so popular, is because it felt very unique. Reach/4 don’t feel like Halo games. I agree that a total reskin wouldn’t be a good idea, but in 343’s attempt to refresh the series they strayed too far from the Halo roots and totally ruined the feel of the game.
