To the people that want a halo 3 2.0

Its obvious that you guys need new tactics. Your current tactic of hating on 343 while trying to get them to make the new halo games like 3 just isn’t cutting it any more. So I believe what you should do now is admit defeat, swallow your pride and kneel before 343 and beg for a halo 3 remaster.

That way you guys can finally get what you want and the new games finally will be free from your aggressions. At this point you don’t have any other options, some of you bash the new halos because they aren’t 3 but then still buy the new halos its ridiculous.

Another thing that is ridiculous is how you guys love to believe that all old halo fans want what you want. I believe My halo 3 service record speaks for itself on what I want and what I definitely don’t want.

Ive been playing halo since ce and out of all reach is my favorite with 3 being the one I hated (multiplayer wise). Granted I don’t have halo 5 at this moment but I do plan to get it. I welcome most of the new changes with some things I absolutely don’t like. I don’t like req, I believe they should have improved on halo reach’s customization, I want more from forge, and other things.

But anyway that pretty much wraps up this thread.

Enjoy it before it get locked and I get banned

Tch, now I feel bad for making fun of major Nelson’s xbox on typo error yesterday…

Every Halo 3 fan stopped reading when you said Reach was the best. Don’t kid yourself.

Ah, reminds me of the Halo:Reach forums. AND THE HUNT!

I’m not kidding myself… and I said reach was my favorite…

Which takes any credibility away from your post and your Halo 3 Service Record says you played 1 hour of multiplayer, how is that helpful to your post in any way?

I agree with some of your points. People that don’t like Halo’s new direction definitely need to stop buying the new Halo games.

However, I don’t think that admitting defeat, swallowing our pride, and kneeling before 343 is a very good strategy for steering this franchise back on course. In fact, I could almost see that turning out to be very counter-productive.

He is saying that he did not like Halo 3 and therefore did not play it much. Compare his H3 service record to his Halo Reach record, and you can see which type of game he prefers.

I played both H3 and Reach a LOT, but H3 > Reach and any of this 343I nonsense.

Because it shows my dislike of the game. Many people love to believe that everyone loved halo 3 but I didn’t. I loved 3s campaign and collected every skull for hyabusa armor but after that there was nothing to keep me playing.

Also no me saying reach was my favorite doesn’t take away my credibility as people have different opinions on things. After 10 matches of halo 3 I was so done with halo. Started playing cod and other games and found way more enjoyment in them than 3. That was until bungie delivered the greatness that was reach.

move forward

You’re completely biased then and have no valid opinion to be calling out people who want this franchise to continue to do great things without making the game what it’s not.

Here’s my problem. Radar was reduced in range in a way to change things up so the game evolves. But there is now a huge uproar to change it back to how it was in Halo 3 or Reach. So all these years, people say “Halo must evolve” when game changing things like sprint and Spartan Abilities are added. But now that radar is changed, there is a huge cry to “RETURN HALO BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS”, and more than likely, 343 will end up caving in. The irony is that the reason people want radar range increased is because they complain that people come out of no where and assassinate them or Spartan charge. Wow, go figure, if sprint or abilities were never added then we wouldn’t have this problem now would we. So my point is, how can we cater to some but not all? How can some people be forced to accept change, while others aren’t? Clearly, people have proven with Halo 5 that they can’t accept change, so why not just re-skin Halo 1, 2 and 3 so everyone is happy?

So the OP’s first Halo game was Reach, he then went back and played Halo 3 and possibly other Halo’s but that may be a lie.

Just another Reach kid so basically your thread is invalid.

Well said.

Quite funny that you linked your 3 service record and you’ve barely played it. I played Halo 4 so much even though I hated it and so I have an educated opinion on it. Playing Campaign and an hour of multiplayer in 3, you hardly know what you’re talking about. How about looking over my Service Record and you’ll see someone who has stuck through each Halo game, whether I liked it or not, for countless hours each game.

Whilst I have a love-hate relationship with Halos multiplayer pretty much since Reach, you have to look at other successful franchises which kept similar core aspects. Like Counter-Strike for example. Games don’t have to “evolve” to remain relevant or popular. 2 and 3 had it right, a balance that worked perfectly. Most would have been happy with that formula carrying on with higher quality assets and graphics. Obviously it’s inevitable and most franchises go through “modernisation” but Halo hasn’t really felt the same since 4. Reach mixed it up a bit and this is where a lot of people claim the game lost itself, but I think Reach still had a lot of that classic spirit despite the changes.

4 and 5 are entirely different beasts. Maps are balanced completely differently to previous titles and a lot of the time they barely take into account the new abilities. Sprint, for one, has drastically increased the play speed of Halo. Fine, the game plays faster but is that always a plus? Kill times are very fast, at points in 5 it almost feels like its bordering on shoot first in some instances. Being able to turn a fight on its head after being shot first is something Halo has always prided itself on but the last couple of games it’s become harder and harder to do because of certain weapons and kill times.

I would like nothing more than a game to follow Halo 2 or 3s formula, with much nicer graphics. Would that work in this day and age? Probably not. Either way, both sides are entitled to their opinion. Bungie gave us a beautiful franchise and people have to accept that people are now coming into the franchise and growing up with “modern halo”. Just like people that basically started with Reach or 4 need to accept that there is a ton of history before said games and millions of fans which may not be happy with the changes in the games you started with. People just seem so frightened that the franchise will just keep changing and in the end be unrecognisable. Unwelcome changes to an established franchise are never met gracefully, it takes a great deal of skill (and balls) to pull off said changes. 343 are slowly getting there but as evident as the numerous threads are regarding the countless issues with the game, it’s going to take some time. They are listening, with Forge getting a overhaul, maps being fixed and pulled, map rotation being fixed, BTB coming in a few weeks etc. If the game was released with all content from the first day, perhaps the community would be behind the game more but the growing trend of developers releasing half baked games and releasing other features down the line is frustrating and worrying.

Halo can be what we want, we just have to branch together instead of squabbling and giving 343 mixed messages.

Liked Reach but hated 3? Is this guy for serious right now? If you think Reach is the best, you’re an armor locking 12 year old.

I wish you gave some examples of how people want Halo 3 2.0. Is it because of social playlists? 1-50 ranks?
