To the people that are a willing to accept MTX in MCC

It is a bad idea… I know it sounds “reasonable” and even a “good” thing.

  • People will be able to unlock stuff it would take years to get
  • It will allow 343 to keep supporting the game
  • This might help to put more content in the game

To put this on perspective lets just go to “pre-launch” Infinite: remember when people were saying that because of the MTX on the colors of the armor we were going to get crazy coatings? The reality is that we have to pay $2 for red, pink, black, and many others.

Remember when people say that was Ok the EXP boosters because if will help people with less time? 343 design a system that takes more time than it should so they could sell you stuff like boosters

and about “are stuff” on the game… Look, I love MCC, but lets not forget that 343 abandoned it for years because other studio fixed it (iirc… otherwise they still didn’t do a thing for years). All the money is going to the execs or to the store of Infinite. I don’t think there is scenario were 343 goes “all in” or even “half in” on MCC.

We should stay united on this or they will abuse us (again)… they will just go “infinite” on MCC. That “we are thinking about it” is just to put us in this debate and have people arguing this. I understand the reasons behind it, nobody wants MCC to die. But lets be honest, 343 just want the easy money, not even the Halo Waypoint forums have survive (it is a shallow version of how cool it was before)

That’s why we must stay strong in this, this post is just to put some perspective on people that are like “some good stuff can happen because of this” or “it is ok, 343 can nail this one”. There are better alternatives that are in other threads than just go “Lets MTX these old games”

I don’t get this idea of “MTX help support the game”. They literally do not. MCC has a skeleton crew working on it. The content they are now pushing is not new but leftover content from last year.

Remember, 343i wanted to deliver 10 seasons of content by the end of 2022 but were only able to deliver 8. That means there is 2 season’s worth of content left to implement in MCC for them to fulfill that promise.

So, realistically what will happen is they pocket the profit from MTX and the game will be worse off In the long run whilst they exploit the lowest common denominator.

Basically, everyone loses

I know that a lot of people (myself included) have posted in other forums multiple ways for 343 to reduce the grind for spartan points. From adding more challenges that earn season points to re-implementing campaign exp.

The point is that any claim by 343 that the grind is currently too high to not include MTX’s is arbitrary. They’re the ones that made it so difficult, they can just as easily make it easy.

They just don’t want to because they want to milk MCC for all of the money that they think they can make. Clearly Halo Infinite isn’t making them the money that they hoped it would. Frankly, I don’t believe them when they claim that they’re still thinking about it. Decision like this is likely to have already been set and they’re hoping that we’ll either exhaust ourselves or get distracted by other issues to keep the attention on forced purchasable spartan points in MCC.
