To the Devs

Guys,
Please don’t screw up the last potential for Halo to be a competitive game again. Remove the sprint and armor abilities and return to the traditional movement style. Symmetry and balance are the only two things needed to make this game successful. Don’t be a try-hard BK by adding all of these revolutionary features that will change the way you play. Instead, KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. Halo-Halo 3 Worked. What went wrong with reach? Perks. Don’t mess it up again. I beg you.

Best,
brochachofy

Poll to keep perks or to remove them.

I think I speak for some when I say that, we still have hope that 343 will learn from the mistakes of Halo 4 and turn Halo 5 into an experience that is both nostalgic and innovating.

Armor abilities are confirmed to be out of the game. Perks, don’t know anything about them, but I would expect them to be as well. It would only make sense for them to be.

Do you have a link Ice Time? I may have just missed this news. I kind of went on nostalgic drive through the internet with my old MLG Forums posts and what happened with H4 only to return with sadness… I really hope for the Halo 2/3 experience and hopefully another Mainstage event.

Thanks for the response!

Here’s a link that features information and pictures. We don’t know about Sprint but I would honestly expect it to be in in this day and age but armor abilities are 100% out the door.

That makes me happy! I can’t believe I actually missed the article. I hope sprint is removed, but that is only a hope. At least they are moving back to a more competitive experience. What game are you playing when the MCC releases?

Or something new and different… Where’s that option?

Although little is known, Spartan Abilities seem promising.

Yeah, since AA’s are confirmed to be out of the game. Awesome, but we don’t if Perks and if anything I really hope Perks are gone. Off topic: I remember watching a Halo 4 panel. 343i were asked about the Perks and they got defensive saying that they weren’t perks, lol.

Condensed quote:

> "We’ve seen first person shooters get more and more complex, and more and more reward driven. There’s been a backlash about it… I think it’s a seesaw, and I think that it’s tipping back towards things that are really truly competitive rather than just reward driven, and eSports is certainly driving a lot of that… we’re looking to make sure that your multiplayer is something pure.”

Spartan abilities, based on the article I read, refers to abilities that everyone has at the base. IE: dual wielding, boarding, etc.

We know that AA’s are gone, and I sure hope that Armor Mods follow them into hell. And seeing the overwhelming dislike towards Armor Mods, I’m sure that we won’t see them again.

This. On the sliding scale between arena and twitch gameplay, perks are even closer to twitch than Armour Abilities are. 343 wouldn’t be making all this noise regarding their love for pure arena gameplay if they were planning on including such a feature. Most likely, as perks were never as big as AA’s in terms of community outrage, there won’t be an announcement informing us of their removal; we simply won’t ever see them again.

This.

I don’t think they’d risk the wrath of players if they kept perks. It’s fine to risk it if the game still performs near to expectations (Reach - which is probably why they continued that trend with H4). But since H4 performed below expectations, I think they will be less likely to take that risk.

Yeah, based on the amount of players that dropped off of H4 since release compared to Reach should be enough indication that something went wrong.

you are talking business! 343 listen to this man/woman and whatever his/hers desires are! He/she doesn’t look like the type of person you want to disappoint!

Hercules oh lawd hercules

Haha, love it.

I’m personally against armor abilities! Halo also should NOT have default sprint! Halo 3 and Halo 2 are by far the best Halo games ever!
Armor Abilities and default sprint take out a huge amount of skill required to play Halo!
343 Industries take both of these out of the game and true Halo fans will be happy!

i agree that i don’t like sprint and armor abilities, but how did default sprint take out skill required? by making it easier to get to power macaronis?
