To the complainers.

It seems majority of complainers have neither played any of the previous Halo titles (it seems like it anyway), and have never played Call of Duty or even understand why people don’t seem to like it and complain about COD to no end, ill keep it brief and very very simple so you can get it.

Call of Duty isn’t bad because you sprint around, it isn’t bad because it has custom classes/loadouts, it isn’t bad because it has “killstreaks”, its not even bad because of the mechanics themselves and the gameplay itself, the only thing people seem to complain about is its virtually the same game every time (funny when you consider the same people are complaining that Halo changed TOO much and added TOO many new things).

So please, stop posting threads like “Oh so Halo is like COD now because it has loadouts and we can sprint and respawn instantly” (in deathmatch, objective seems to still have timed respawns, the only place where timed respawns actually matter, they still are, Slayer SHOULD be a fast paced game, hence why you respawn instantly).

I don’t think anyone can deny that things like ordinance (killstreaks), custom loadouts etc are all very similar features if not identical to games like COD, but that in and of itself does not make Halo a bad game, its not even your opinion, its just a pointless ignorant statement, because when you say things like that, you have no idea what you are talking about.

There are plenty of legitimate complaints regarding Halo 4, things like actual weapon balance, overpowered weapons, underpowered weapons/equipment, whatever it may be.

Aim assist is too heavy. Game requires no skill. You can close your eyes and still get kills. Sounds like COD to me.

> Aim assist is too heavy. Game requires no skill. You can close your eyes and still get kills. Sounds like COD to me.

If only 1 team had aim assist and the other team didn’t, sure it’d make a difference, probably a huge difference, since as you said they would just need to spray in the general area of an enemy.

However,

A) All console shooters have aim assist for the simple reason that analog sticks will never be as accurate as a mouse for aiming.
B) All players have some form of aim assist, which can be changed in the options (I think).

When 2 players are shooting at each other, if one hits all shots in the head, he will kill his opponent first, not even considering aim assist into the equation, the better player won in that 1v1 because he was better at aiming at the head and more accurate.

I will never understand the “no skill” argument, because even in the noobiest of games, all players are on an equal battlefield, meaning the only divider is the players skill itself.

If you think the game takes no skill, chances are, you have no skill.

Sorry.

I’ve played all the Halos and majority of all the CoDs. The Halo world is evolving into a CoDish one. Loadouts = Classes. Ordinace drops = Kill Streaks. Killcams. Hitting X to respawn…etc

This doesn’t make Halo a bad game, it’s just not what some people want.

Call of Duty isn’t the only game that has Sprint, Class Loadouts or customization dumb twits, majority of modern FPS’s of today do.

And if you are leaving Halo 4 cause it’s too much like CoD to go off JUST TO PLAY CALL OF DUTY, then i must congratulate you graduating from Moron University.

All console shooters do have aim assist but why did they have to make aim assist so high in this game? You do understand that they CAN tone it down, right? I’m saying it’s unbelievably EASY to kill someone.

When 2 players are shooting at each other, there’s no reason either of them will miss the shots to the head because the aiming reticule STICKS there. That’s how heavy the aim assist is in this game to the point where you actually have to PURPOSELY TRY to miss in order to miss! And it is very hard to purposely miss because you really can’t seem to “un-stick” that reticule from their head. It’s like a very powerful magnet!

And I’m making the claim that the game requires no skill because it’s easy to kill someone, and that leads you to assume I have no skill? Whoa… good job ending your argument in an attack on me. So I’ll end mine in an attack on yours. Here goes: Ha… coming from someone that has a 1.44KDR in Slayer! In that game mode, the ONLY objective is to kill… how is your KDR that LOW?! Sounds like it’s YOU who has no skill.

Let’s face it… anyone who is against turn down aim assist are afraid that they will have a much harder time earning kills because the skill gap will be much wider.

Hitscan is when you “click” on an enemy and they immediately receive damage. Add on to that the very sticky aim assist that H4 has where it is impossible for you to move your aim away from your target’s head… and you see why it takes very little skill to kill anyone in this game.

No it was never called that in any game.

Hitscan= the way the game scans the hit from the bullets that are shot at the person

Aim assist= The amount of assist the game gives your reticule when trying to aim at them. When the reticule basically turns red.

Except in this game you don’t have to try to aim because how heavy it is.

I like Call of Duty, I just don’t like the developers and how there is no support for the games. Also it’s the same game every time, with little to no improvements over the next, the same gameplay ect…

To your last point, if aim assist was toned down/removed, it would be that way for EVERYONE, meaning while anyone who relies on auto-aim to help them out will have a harder time aiming and winning fights, so will the apparent “pro” players, because they will be so used to playing WITH aim assist.

So again, it’d STILL be completely even for both players involved, again, the only real divider would be player skill, with or without aim assist, the only possible divider is the players skill, or obviously things like power weapons, but we’re talking straight up 1v1 dmr/br whatever, we will say that both enemies have the same weapon just for arguments sake.

I usually turn auto-aim/aim assist off in most games because i hate my reticule sticking to moving enemies and moving where i dont want it to be, so when i can i switch it off.

Regarding my apparent “bad K/D” in slayer, it is positive. Meaning i kill more players than i die, which is the entire point of slayer.

Try again. If i cared about my stats, i might be hugely offended by your assault on my k/d.

The aim assist/auto-aim is no more prominent than any previous Halo game, most complaints like this stem from simply dying, you die, you call the guy who killed you a noob, you blame aim assist, you say the only reason he killed you was due to aim assist, etc.

When the reality was, you had aim assist too, and STILL lost the fight.

Yes, it will go down for everyone. What’s the harm in that? People will actually have to rely more on their OWN abilities to aim instead of letting the game to most of the work for them.

Yes, I get the point that it’ll STILL be even. I get the point you’re trying to make that it’s even now… that if you and I got in a one-on-one gunfight, we would both be benefiting from the game’s aim assist. That’s not the point I’m trying to make, however. The point I’m trying to make is that if they turn aim assist down and you have less “hand holding” from the game, you get a bigger skill gap. At the moment, the skill gap is very narrow because the amount of skill needed to aim is reduced due to the fact that your reticule STICKS to your target.

Let me clarify that:
More aim assist = Less skill gap
Less aim assist = Bigger skill gap
More aim assist = No skill required
Less aim assist = Kills must be earned

And you seem to want to assume that the reason I’m against aim assist is because I’m losing firefights. No. I want aim assist gone because firefights are too easy. I can get headshots without even trying because my aim STICKS to my target’s head. It is NOT FUN. My KDR is nearly 2.0… why?! HOW?! In H3, I didn’t even have a positive KDR. In Reach, my KDR was barely over 1.0. H3 and HR were fun because I actually had to work for my kills. Every headshot was so satisfying to earn. Every strategic movement like flanking the enemy and outsmarting the enemy felt good. In H4,kills are GIVEN to me. There’s no need to flank or outsmart the enemy because my “auto aim” will kill them for me! Where’s the challenge and fun in that?!
