To test the mission replay I first have to play from the start?

So are you telling me to test the replay mission part I first have to replay the entire game again? I hope I’m doing some thing wrong but I can not find any options to repeat missions. Only to start a new game.

Yes. That’s what I heard

This was explained here:

https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/halo-infinite-campaign-network-co-op-preview

Will our progress from the retail game carry-over to the flight build? And vice versa—will anything we unlock or progress during the flight also apply to the retail version of the game?

No, progress will not carry over. The Network Co-Op flight is conducted on a separate build intended to test the features without affecting your existing retail copy of Halo Infinite.

First off, thanks dad.

Now let’s get in to the meat of the post. One phrase. Out of touch. 343 is so far out of touch with the reality of it’s customers it’s actually hard to over state. I don’t usually comment here because I feel it’s a complete waste of time. Tbh I think this is too.

Background. I’m a hard core Halo fan. Game since day zero. All of the books. Etc… So I would like to think that while I’m just an opinion, it might carry a little weight. If you could see my halo 1, 2, and 3 hours you might agree.

Halo is now a joke. Just think about this. You create a flight where we can test replay of missions, except… You have time play the entire game to do this. Infinite bored me just weeks into the release yet you want me to start over.

Halo has went backwards since 343 bought the rights. Please sell halo to anyone, Musk, lol who ever. You are killing a great franchise and for me a personal enjoyment of over 20 years.

I’ve went from someone who played way too much halo to someone who would just rather not play video games than to put up with such horrible lack of understanding and for sight.

Thanks to Dad indeed for pointing me in the right direction of good intel; it can get lost in the wash amidst the communities ideas as to how things should proceed without having any semblance of an understanding with respect to Beta Testing.

We’re public, free-to-play QA Specialists on an ancient build that functions just enough to employ some kind of an experience. It’s on this build that we provide feedback, @sum0ne ; please file bug reports and feedback as this will only help the community. That is, if this is a game you want to continue playing. I certainly do.

Some errors that I’ve considered providing to the QA team for review:

1.) Cross-play connection via Steam experiences consistent crashes, infinite loading screens. I’m looking forward to the full experience and playing via XBOX Game Pass, routing through fewer servers (if Steam/343 host on separate server platforms or whatever, I’m no developer lmao)
2.) Customizable Master Chief = Bigger Fun w. the Squad.
3.) Ability to Ping/Mark Targets would make the experience. Periodt.
4.) Vehicular-progression transfer to less-experienced/progressed teammates.
5.) Matchmaking for co-op would be excellent.
5a.) According to Difficulty, specific party-size, console/PC, server browser
6.) Drop-in matchmaking for unlocked and unfilled squads.

Thanks for taking a minute, if you’ve read through this post.
I hope you’re all thinking of ways to improve upon this experience.
And finally, thank you for enrolling in the Flight Test program and providing feedback to 343!

Respectfully,
Diijjon

Respectfully it’s just not worth my time. I have no intention of playing through the entire game again. It was an OK campaign but not enough to play all the way through several times.

They want people to to test things yet they aren’t ready for things to be testing. No matchmaking for co op. You can’t test the replay mission without a brand new play through. 343’s decision makers just don’t get it and live in a world of their own. I honestly don’t believe what we say matters much at all. 7 years for an incomplete game. If I performed so poorly at my job I would be drawing unemployment.

I ran into this too. Moderately disheartening as I want to help test replaying missions but I don’t want to replay the entire campaign again (for the 6th time) to unlock this testing feature.

who the heck plays a video game story mode only once especially if its a really good game?

its like reading one of ur favorite books again, its fun

I’ve played it twice. It was fun. Nothing phenomenal at all. It doesn’t stand out at all. Most the old halos I’ve played more times than I can count. I’ll still go back and play them on mcc. Infinite just doesn’t make me want to do that.

Now if I could go and replay missions just when I’m in the mood I would, but to start over again, no thank you. Maybe in a few years. Like 7 when they announce the next game is another 7 years away…

is there a filter for 343 employees to find only comments that disagree with the overwhelming cynics? lol

so that they can find the low swangin fruit loool

Probably right beside the filter for people who mindlessly agree with any thing they say. Look sir, the fact you said overwhelming proves the point. I’ve been on the halo forums since day 1 at Bungie and here since MS bought the franchise. It wasn’t always like this.

We might disagree but it was never like this where you can tell long time fans feel like we do now. If you love infinite I’m really happy for you, and I honestly mean that. For me it’s the opposite. I was ridiculously passionate about halo. Not just the games but the books too. Since being sold to ms every game feels like a step backwards. I went from hardly ever playing any other games to hardly ever playing halo. 1,2, and 3 I played over and over and constantly played mp. When MS took over they tried to copy other fps games instead of sticking with what made halo halo.

Now look. Just a few months in and it has very little support to show. That’s not a coincidence. They have killed their base audience and this can not be argued by anyone who can look up numbers. They don’t listen about what we want in playlist. They don’t listen about what we want in maps. They want to tell us what we will like.

Again, if it works for you then awesome. Come in and on a post like mine say you disagree, maybe give a valid argument, and that will show your support. But throwing away others opinions, especially what seems to be the vast majority doesn’t bode well for your argument.

lol

It’s cold facts that this entry didn’t receive the attention and love it deserved. Shipping a half-baked game to keep up with the times and trend of F2P shooters was a move that leaves the sourest of tastes in the mouth.

I imagine we’ll see additional playtests in the future that I’m unwilling to participate in unless my feedback is heeded after posting in official channels (Bug Reports, snickerdoodle’s forum post requesting feedback on the Mission Replay function) .

This game has a great distance to go before I’ll enjoy playing it. This submission in the series felt so much like Far Cry’s cut-and-paste gameplay and I simply don’t have the time or patience for it.

I want to be my own spartan with my friends and clown around in an open world set in the Halo universe.

You technically only have to play the missions you want to replay, you don’t have to finish the whole campaign just to replay a mission.

From my understanding the campaign progress being separate is just for the flight, once co-op is actually released you will be able to use your normal save slots.

This makes perfect sense considering that this is a flight and if they did allow you to use your saves and then the save got corrupted or some whacky bug occurs, you’d be complaining on here anyway saying that 343 ruined your save slot. Just imagine if replaying a mission bugged out and actually sent you all the way back to that mission losing all progress beyond it, you’d be furious if that was on your legendary save slot.

Valid points. I don’t know enough about software engineering to disagree, or agree for that matter. Imo it’s still just another example of the lack of professionalism. Again, a game 7 years in the making and still not even close to complete over a half of year after release.

Plus of your point is true does than mean we have to do another flight just to test if it will work with our saves?
