to sprint or not to sprint poll

do you want sprint?

You wouldn’t be much of a super soldier if you couldn’t sprint in my opinion

No but i do want to move faster than i did in h3

Sprint I could live with it but I don’t want it.

I just feel like a B.A. when i run into battle with it XD

Hmm. Its funny how i see alot of sprint hate, yet the polls show otherwise…
Anywho, i think sprint will be great, once its altered for the sake of intense competitive gameplay, sure, Why not?

Definately agree

Yeah I wanna sprint.

I feel like its the same people everytime lol

It would seem that the minority of Halo is the most outspoken…

Sprint adds too many random elements to gameplay. The large ammount of inconsistancy causes the game to play like garbage in a competitve environment. People move around the map very quickly and it is nearly impossible to keep track of it all as a team. Sprint makes it too easy to escape pressure from the other team. I will not take the time to describe in detail what exactly I mean, because almost anyone who played the MLG settings for Reach while they included sprint will know what I am talking about.

I will give an example though: Sanctuary (Assylum) Team Slayer: The Red team just killed every member of the Blue team and so they push onto the Blue side to get easy kills and get their weapons before the Blue team can have them. 3 members of the Blue team spawn in the rocks, but the fourth member spawns in his couryard, and is able to run past the Red team onto their side of the map. The Red team is able to slay the 3 who spawned in the rocks, but next time they will spawn snipe/under turret. The last member for the blue team goes into the Red side, puts shots into the Red team to distract them and make them look for him, while the Blue team is spawning. Then, the blue spartan who is on the Red side sprints over to the ring, and jumps up onto the top part of it. From there they kill most of the Red team and can sprint right into the Red base now. Because this one man sprinted all over the map, he was able to singlehandedly break the Red team’s offence by distracting and putting damage into the Red team from the strongest power position. You should not be able to singlehandedly do that much in a TEAM GAME. You should not be able to essentially run right into the other teams side and do whatever you want because you move so fast that they cannot react.

My solution to sprint (If 343 insists on it, though it adds more negitives than positives) is to have fast kill times, slight stopping power for people who are sprinting, sprinting not being too much faster than not sprinting, and loud sprinting or something like that to prevent sprinting sneaks like the above example.

Things that cannot be fixed about sprint: Herp-derping (Sprinting straight at someone and meleeing them to death) and sprinting to assassinate someone (That just creates poor gameplay on a competitive level).

TL;DR Sprint has more negatives than positives so it should be removed all-together.

fixed

no

Definitely not. There’s no fun in shooting a guy only to watch him get away. Sprinting after him only leads to tedious games of tags that breaks the flow of the game.

CORRECT

Yeah thats a real nice, mature, and logical argument you have there… >.>

Tell me how sprint is better than no-sprint. Seriously.

I am really against sprint being included. If it is included then it must be disabled when you are shot. This is the only way that it won’t be a detriment to gameplay.

omg ur an mlg try hard!! wtf y u no want perkz dey so kewl in da cods!!!

No but seriously, if I’m about to kill someone then he decides LET ME SPRINT AWAY, theres a problem. Halo’s kill times are too long for sprint to work correctly.
