There’s nothing more annoying to me than hearing some guy in his room with all of his friends. Furthermore, there’s no good way to tell them that they’re screaming at everybody! happens waaaay too often to me.
I agree. Further more game chat is annoying and distracting, and the sound indicator doesn’t always pick up who it’s coming from so I can’t mute then all the time.
Awful.
Even if they are annoying, I am always thankful to hear anyone using a mic in Halo. I feel like I’m a dying breed of gamer that actually uses their mic while in the game chat instead of hiding in a party chat. That being said, Halo 5 makes it so easy to mute an annoying individual that it’s really not worth complaining about.
Kinect was the worst thing that happened to Xbox. Seriously it just a sits there and picks up every sound coming from you speakers.

So true, when i played halo 2 and 3 it actually felt like i was playing with other humans. Nowadays its so quiet its like playing with bots.

Don’t blame Kinect for that, it honestly picks up everything because those players are like " record that" “volume up” “go to tv” etc.i have a couple friends obsessed with the voice commands. But hey Back and X mutes every one and it takes half a second lol

No,
Don’t like it then either go to a party and play with your friends or stop whining.
Or you could, you know, maybe, perhaps, mute the players? Its really that easy.
I love my Kinect. But I do agree. Background chat noise drives me nuts.Specially when this person isn’t speaking but for some reason they feel the need to let the rest of the world know what’s being talked about around them.
Half the time, I hear some kid crying in the background for Kinect players.
Can you hear it now mr krabs?
actually i hear the keys coming to lock this thread
I am that guy lol.
You can turn off the kinect’s ability to function as a microphone. After that all it does is responded to commands. Not many people know this sadly…

Well Im sorry I don’t have a mic to chat with people with. Then again there are a lot of people complaining that people don’t have mic to chat to, personally if you don’t like listening to people then simply mute them instead of coming here to complain because this post is irrelevant. Just some guy complaining about people talking.

I know both!
Yes, yes, you can mute them, but like a previous post said it won’t always pop up who exactly is the culprit. Not to mention the fact that you cannot mute them until you are in the game. So all pregame lobby you have to deal with all the ridiculousness that often is accompanied with Kinect mics.
I wouldn’t have a problem with them if they actually called out and had real in game communication. Instead of what we usually get, b.s. family background dilemma’s. I feel ya OP. Just because we can mute them shouldn’t give them free reign to be inconsiderate.
Just mute them dude.

seriously, game chat is useful, but only if it’s used to correctly, to call out enemies and stuff.
or are you trying to justify crying babies, barking dogs and [insert crappy musician you dislike] singing
or rather puking unbearable melodies right into you very poor ear?
imo, i’d rather had the quietness of the ground of a 10.000 miles deep ocean then hearing such bs,
it’s neither helpful nor useful and definitely and simply unnecessary.
and yeah, i mute people regularly, but i wouldn’t have to if people stop doing such nonsense.
it would actually encourage me to use my headset more often, but these days you’ll find a
“useful speaker” in maybe one of ten games.
It is pretty annoying but I’ve never had a situation where I couldn’t instantly tell who it was coming from via their mic lighting up. If all else fails, mute all, then re-enable 1 by one. It does suck that you can’t do this before the game starts though.
I don’t talk to my kinect during a match unless is something that might be important, otherwise I just try not to be loud. I do hear a lot of babies crying in the background tho

I like to spartan charge noisy kinect users. It at least provides me with some entertainment when I hear them shouting WTF! Idiots.
