I’m an avid Halo CE fan. It’s almost entirely what I play on MCC. I’d love to foster a larger, more vibrant CE community, with people of all skill levels, lots of new players, etc. But I get the sense MCC has a pretty small H1 population. I’m wondering what if anything could attract more new players (or returning old players) to the game which I think is the best of the series.
Some folks on the forums may say “I don’t want n00bs playing H1, the population is fine as-is”, but I disagree – I think a higher population is pretty much always a healthier population, and would love lots of new players to get into this game. They won’t all stay noobs forever!
Honestly, I don’t play bc I play by myself. And there is nothing worse than playing against a team when your team is full of idiots that don’t understand the game.

I feel the same way, although I don’t mind playing Halo CE BTB.

I’m just not a huge fan of the pistol. I mean, I am, but it just seems like whoever gets the first shot off wins the battle. The four-shot BR gives a little bit more wiggle room when it comes to 1v1 combat IMO.
Personal preference for me if I’m going to be honest.
I love it but every time I have ever played it, I have either terrible and completely incompetent teammates or betrayers and those things have ruined it for me unfortunately.

because it plays nothing like halo 1. before the latest patch it was 2 ez, i was literally 3 shotting everything.
But now my bullets land about 500 feet away from my target no matter what and thats just as unfun

Ya this right here, yesterday I played BTB slayer on Blood Gulch, it was just a complete slaughter fest, each team literally spawned on top of each other, game was over within minutes because everybody was dying so fast. Also Halo CE is by far one of my favorites, its just the multiplayer I never have fun in, either my team is full of betraying idiots or downright horrible or I get put up against pro players apparently and the game just becomes a one sided slaughter.

I agree. I want to like and play every Halo but wow I have had NOTHING but a miserable experience with H1 especially in BTB. H1 in BTB truly needs something changed with the betrayals. Or BTB needs to be ranked. Something must change otherwise H1 in BTB is just a nightmare.
Once Halo 1 gets its own ranked playlists I will try that out. As of right now, I avoid H1 any way I can in the mp. Especially in BTB.
I don’t play it because of the pistol. Not because it’s overpowered, but because it feels a little inconsistent to me.
When I’m strafing while shooting, the bullet seems to hit somewhere to the left or to the right of my reticule, depending on which direction I’m moving in.
I’m trying to learn it, to be at least competent at it, but I play by myself and I keep running into complete egotistical dbags that rage at me for not being good enough I don’t have to much time to play so I’m not godlike so it must be frustrating having me on their team.
