To my fellow dedicated players: what’s keeping you going?

WHEN the game is; not lagging/registering shots properly/fairly ending battles - I enjoy playing. And when i play with friends its a good time.

For me is that I havent found a shooter I enjoy and also the gameplay but the insane amount of networking issues keep me leaving. The game has so much potential but is unplayable and hard to enjoy with all the networking issues.

I have just always enjoyed the franchise. I’m just getting back into it after a decade long break from gaming, but Infinite feels fresh and new to me. I feel just excited playing this as I did playing H3 for the first time.

Great thread @Mako_Matthew

What’s keeping me going is my love for Halo; like you said, I am a big fan of the game’s mechanics and am very happy with gameplay, despite it’s issues

Another huge aspect is a clan/community that I am running, and I have found that Halo is a far better experience when playing with other people

I absolutely love the teamwork, being creative and creating my own content for the game, making the game far interesting for myself and others; running gamenights, providing our own inhouse progression systems, competitve/clan battle and creative/forge based branches etc

For me I feel that it’s quite confusing where the game is at, where the community is at and where we move forward from here. I am always looking to provide as much insight, gain as many insights as I can on how we can collectively improve the multiplayer experience; I feel that right now it is the constructive, reasonable and realistic feedback that will improve the quality of life for Halo Infinite’s online community

That being said, it has sincerely been a mess up to this point and I completely resonate in terms of a majority of the morale and how people feel, but it’s the love I have for Halo, the universe and it’s community that keeps me going

Again great thread homie and thank you for sharing :purple_heart:

Big fan of the game in general. For better or worse I can’t stop playing infinite. I do actually like the multiplayer. I’d like to see changes of course like everyone but it’s still fun. The campaign I thought was really good. to be honest this is still a game I’d like to get good at and lately just been playing training mode mostly trying to get my aiming and map movement dialed in. I guess improving my skill in a game I like is what keeps me coming back at least a handful of days a week.

Maybe it’s the nostalgia talking, but I love the feel of the game. The mechanics are great and the weapons sandbox is incredibly diverse. I link up with a few IRL friends once a week to play and play solo about 3 times per week. Also love the sweatiness of good ranked matches.

Enjoying the gameplay generally; playing with a buddy; and loyalty to Halo — rightly or wrongly. CE was the first video game I played, and I’ve loved the games since.

I just want it to be a great game. I don’t need it to be a new Halo 2 or 3, and be these ground-breaking titles being reported in the news. Just a solid game.

For me it’s just Halo. I’ve always been a Halo fan/player and just feel at home when I play. Even with all of its flaws and issues.

I truly just love playing Halo. I’ve been playing since I was 7 years old. My irl friends and family play the game with me weekly. There’s just a lot of fun and enjoyment surrounding Halo. :gift_heart:

I love the game. When it works…which is about 45% of the time.
I think if I played this game on LAN, it would probably be the best Halo since H2 and H3.

All I play/care about is ranked/competitive/BR spawns. Which is why I like Infinite better than any of the games since H3. Feel like the HCS is actually good again, and fun to watch.

Reach bloom was poo, H4 was just meh, H5 pistol spawns was the poo.

The recently crushed hope and dreams that there will be story expansions to Halo Infinite. Forge and it’s amazing set of features. 343 needs to put multiplayer on the back burner and give us more content from the books and other games.

Just jumped in to see how it it goes… ranked match after 2 minutes of searching and it starts 2v4 against a team of 3 with 1 random.

Yep, thats it for me again. :joy::joy:

When I’m not getting unstable packet loss or my ping jumping up by 100… the game is pretty fun. I wish 343 cared and actually tried to fix the game. It’s really sad what has happened to this game

The franchise is iconic, the warthog, it’s part nostalgia too. The gameplay is just a lot of fun, and the fact it’s F2P is just amazing.

Trying to hit 1000 ranked 360s

I’m an older gamer (33). The critique of there not being enough post-launch content falls a bit flat for me. Cue “back in my day” rant. Back when Halo 1 and Halo 2 launched- there was NO post-launch content. You had campaign and a few (badass) multiplayer modes (to include coop). There wasn’t even Forge. You either liked the game for the gameplay and the included game modes…or you didn’t. Period.
So to answer your question- the thing that keeps me signing in to play is the same thing that’s ALWAYS kept me signing in to play - the precision gameplay and the competitive MP modes (i’m a basic -Yoink!-, just give me deathmatch and i’m happy for the most part).
I don’t really know what people are expecting at this point… like, are we so attention deficit at this point that we constantly need endless updates to keep us focused and amused?
I think it’s great that they finally got Forge in, but i could care less if they put any more content in the game.
The gameplay is fun, and the world context of Halo is still interesting…despite some recent character writing.

IDK. Like i said, old gamer, easily satisfied with gameplay

I only keep going because I have friends who still play. We all love Halo. Always have. The core gameplay is solid regarding movement and responsiveness. I know desync is still an issue so I’m not going to beat that dead horse. Other than the core mechanics/gameplay its not a fun game. I am so tired of playing on the same maps over and over (I’m not a forge player…never have been). However, before I start complaining about all the things that are wrong I’ll just leave it at that. Halo Infinite isn’t fun.

game fun, play bcuz fun

I like how the games feels. I think 343 did a good job making the game play more true to previous titles like Halo 3 or Reach. I like the shock rifle and the new pickups like the grapple shot. I enjoy some of the maps. Forge and custom games have amazing potential. This is what keeps me coming back despite all the other issues.
