Here is how to make the spartan 4s better let there actions speak for them not there words i think 343 should stop portraying Spartans as way to human and more like spartan i mean don’t make them sociopaths just make them people of little words or needed words. sometimes you can have very little dialog and still make them interesting. just saying i would love to see 343 make the Spartans feel like such as Spartans you know just basically those bad -Yoinks!- who stomp around and leave a wake of baddassery destruction in there path. Im sure 343 writers can easily just type this into the script there’s no actual force stopping the make believe character of a spartan 4 from being more Spartan like.
Spartan IV’s aren’t Spartan II’s get over it. Buck and Romeo from ODST were still regular people, and getting bio-enhanced shouldn’t change theirs or other Spartans personalities.

There are plenty of serious spartan IV’s. Gabriel Thorne being one of them. People in the military can still have some laughs in their off-time.

That “writer’s choice” is called bad writing. Not only would making Spartan IVs silent emotionless killing machines be inconsistent with the lore, it also doesn’t even make sense from a real world perspective. How can someone who has lived a relatively normal life with lots of contact with other people be a silent killing machine when they become super soldiers? The only things that change are their strengths and abilities.
You have to understand that they’re not all going to be the “strong, silent type”. They weren’t indoctrinated with military training like the IIs were, therefore their personalities are going to be more varied. We shouldn’t expect them all to be stoic.

Exactly. Even Buck constantly comments about Spartan II’s being completely different to spartan IV’s. Throughout Halo: New Blood, he basically even says how Romeo didn’t change a bit, but is now one of the most powerful soldiers. Hell, Romeo takes on like 40 insurrectionist. They are kind of spread out, some end up trying to run away, etc.

He takes out more then 40. there were 40 in the first group, he then went out and attacked all the ones still at the base. plus when he started he didn’t even have a gun.
The advantage of Spartan-IVs is their humanity. The other Spartans are basically machines. So why would Spartan-IVs act the same way?
