To fix the community, we need info

The community is really divided on Halo 4 right now. People are worried about their favorite game others are much more optimistic hopefully more info will remove the pessimism.
So?
When will 343 feed us our next tidbit of information?
E3? or before that?
Also does anyone know when this years E3 is?

e3 isn’t til june 5th

Ingrate. We just got full-on gameplay, confirmation of the BR, and the Covenant. What more do you want? This should hold you 'til E3.

I’m grateful for the gameplay but so much is unexplained, AAs,“perks” and custom loadouts are all a complete mystery.

We’ll get our answers in due time. I wouldn’t mind waiting a couple months.

They said we’d get more info real soon. So I’m betting we will get some more before e3.

There’s nothing wrong with a divided community. It seems to matter now because we’re all on a discussion forum where opinions are the basic commodity of interaction. When the game is released, however, those of us who are going to be playing it won’t really care whether or not other people aren’t. Fortunately for us, lack of enjoyment is not contagious.

Meh. No matter what information comes next, people will still complain.

Fact: The community will never be 100% unified/satisfied. Someone will always find something to complain about.

A house divided against itself cannot stand.

If only 343 didn’t leave such a bad taste in our mouths with the confirmation of sprint and a perk system.

I don’t know whether you’ve ever taken a university-level English course, but if you have or do, you’ll discover quite quickly that adages do not constitute evidence.

Yeah, I realize that wasn’t the best place to use that quote…

But if the community separates enough it may have a noticeable effect. A large population drop, perhaps. Just theorizing.

I kinda hope it plays out like some sort of war between the different sides. They meet and battle for control on Halo 3 and Reach, until one side surrenders or loses their “capital map”. A series of invasion, assault, and capture the flag games might fit. It would pass the time quite nicely. Of course this is pretty unlikely, but it could be a pretty neat gametype or something IMO.

I have to admit, that would be fun. Perhaps that’s how the issue will be settled in the end.

I honestly don’t think that Halo 4 will lack for population. I don’t believe that Reach’s low population in comparison to Halo 3 has anything to do with armour abilities or bloom. The trilogy had already finished and people simply don’t return in the same numbers for spin-offs. I myself paid no attention to Reach during its development cycle, as I thought that my interest in Halo was waning.

Look at any blockbuster movie series and you’ll find that the final iteration in the saga is the one that draws the largest crowd. The same will happen with the Reclaimer trilogy; Halo 6 will very likely be more popular than Halo 4. And if another game releases after that, then that will be the game to compare to Reach.

No matter what happens, the community will be a non-stop pool of rage. It’s like that for every halo game before its release, due to halo’s uber-die-hard fans. sometimes it even continues after the release (bungie’s reach forum… shiver)

I’m glad someone remembers the reactions to Halo 2 and Halo 3. Yet now those games are held up as the gold standard for the “Halo formula”.

While I do know what happened in the Halo 2 & 3 forums, I didn’t even get an xbox until all the halo 3 DLC had come out. I did play Halo 3 at my friends house every day for months before I got my own xbox, but I wasn’t on the forums until around the time of ODST. Just felt like I ought to let you know.

I can assure you that I am not one of those people who thinks that the validity of your opinion changes depending upon when you started playing Halo. One need only look to these forums to realise how flawed can be the perspective of even a long-time Halo veteran.
