farming has been in halo a lot longer than h5. It was in the very beginning… Halo 1. But it was called a different name. Objective holding, score 2 than hold bomb or flag while your team go gets kills. So it cannot be fixed since it has been a part of halo forever. Idk how people forgot about objective holding… It’s the same thing as warzone farming but not as large scale with not as many vehicles and easier to get out of if you have a good team
Yes it has been in the game for a long time, but there is a clear goal behind it now. To get an armor that is difficult to get. The past halos did not have this. You could get all of the armor by yourself, but now there is one that you have to get a group of people all collectively working on it, that is the issue people have. And most of the time you could still fight back. But now people can spawn in REQs and have 7 banshees bombing the only spawn point you can get out of.
This is why people are compaining
Yeah, and -Yoinks!- holding the objective are what killed the playlist in Halo 3. But at least that was to compensate for their shriveled, vestigial manhoods rather to fulfill an objective given to them by the developer.
Just because it was in other Halos doesn’t mean its right or lessens the impact it has on Halo and its community.
H2 people farmed for Rank
H3 people farmed for Rank
H Reach people farmed for Credits
H4 People farmed for Commendations
H5 People farm for one armour piece
Not only is the reason for farming in 5 ludicrous but the game makes it so easy for people to farm, farming has never from what I know been as bad as it is in Halo 5.
I started with Reach so please let me know if 2 or 3 were worse.
It has been around since there was halo, and people have been complaining about it since there was halo.
No respectable clan has farmed kills while holding the objective since halo 2.
It was a -Yoink- move back then, it’s a -Yoink- move now.

I don’t see a problem with a armor that requires a team or clan to get. It makes it more exclusive. And that’s warzone for you. The only way to prevent a farm fest is going in with a decent team with good communication. Going in solo is just stupid
There’d be a lot less farming in Halo 5 without Achilles. How can anyone deny this?
I’ve played a good amount of Halo over the years. Nothing crazy, but a solid amount. I have never been farmed pre-WZ. Does this only occur at the higher levels of play? I tend to be around 30 CSR H2-H4, solo queuer. So I’m not sure what takes place at 50 or anything.
From what I’ve experienced, personally, this type of farming is brand new.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been rocked on 1-4 type situations, but never ‘farmed’ like WZ.

Agreed.
I only noticed farming as an issue after Achilles was added to the game, the data 343 provided to deny this is obviously wrong or faked.

So wouldn’t that mean it’s NOT due to the armor lol. If people did it in the past did it and no armor was available, then it must be due to a different reason.
To argue and say 'it’s due to the armor" is wrong. It’s just something complainers finger point to because they don’t know what to do against people who do it to them, so they do what most children do: Blame something/someone else instead of figuring out what to do.

People will always find a way to make a grind shorter. It would take twice as long to get he armor if people triple capped in 3 minutes than destroyed the core… They got nothing out of it towards kill commodations… Which are pretty grindy

Instead of getting angry and making rage posts on the forums about it… I play it with my company with a party of 5 at minimum so we can break a spawn trap of need be… Due to something called teamwork

THANK YOU!!!
That is the key, and it’s something I think 343 wanted from making companies. People playing together and thinking of what to do in tough scenarios.

A lot of people like to take the easy way out… Wanting s give up/core self destruct button… Sorry there is no mercy rule here

Because there was no change in the farming before and after the announcement of the armor.
Because it has been around in halo since it’s inception, in which there was nothing to unlock, therefore it is NOT due to the armor.
Because it’s in all fps that involve an objective.
Their complaints are getting old IMO. It’s getting to the point where it seems like every time they die they are claiming “farmed”

It’s the solo and small groups of players that fill in the gaps and make matchmaking possible, so I’m disappointed in how little respect and consideration is often given to them.
People are people and there will always be poor sports and those who get their jollies by tormenting others. That’s life.
However, “match[ing] players according to skill” (as they promised) and pitting teams against teams would, in my opinion, greatly reduce the opportunity for fools to set the rules.
I will agree with the fact that playing with a group of players will help decrease your chances of being farmed as an individual but it still doesn’t solve the problem the reason why it’s bad for Halo 5 because it only affects one game mode and people don’t understand that it’s pretty much the way they do it is the problem pretty much they refuse to take out legendary bosses and other bosses and refuse to core the enemy team I know one objective is to kill enemy Spartans but when the enemy Spartans can’t even fight back that’s not a game it’s just a shooting gallery and it ruins the experience for the other team wanting to play war zone and have fun it should it matter if you play with a team or you play as an individual farming is bad for Halo in general and that’s where the problem is.

Not wrong or fake, just flawed. They did a before and after comparison and the “after” part was only like 2 weeks since Achilles was introduced. Obviously not as many people had started farming at that point. I wish they’d do another test.
Farming is in every game. (Well, most every game) I think what people are saying is that - YES, people DO farm in Halo and have since Halo 2. However, the farming wasn’t as a big deal, until Halo 5, when a piece of armor is ONLY available if you get level three kill commendations (Or whatever it is) So, to get that, teams will take every base and then just kill the Blue/Red team until the end of the game, without blowing up the core and ending the game. For those people who are being trapped in their home base, they have to either quit or suffer a horrible K/D spread.
