To everyone complaining about Monetization

Or just do away with seasonal battlepass, sell armor sets for cheaper at all times in the store, and only events have battlepass.

I hate the idea of them charging us for a premium battlepass and we need to grind it anyway.

You lack a understanding of overall business.

Where are the gains listed from third party promotions? How much are they getting in book sales? How much are they making off the HCS? How much are they making off of licensing fees? Toy sales? Do you know if they have a deal for every gamepass sub that downloads halo? Do you know the actual overall annual budget for 343?

You do realize that nothing on google or any of the sites you listed is actually correct. No company would be that dumb. That’s like thinking that WWE doesn’t lie about the heights of the wrestlers and make them taller.

You have no idea what you’re talking about and pulling random numbers for your hypothetical scenario. You have no real data, no inside knowledge, and clearly no expertise in the industry or any business. You also make no mention or concept of supply and demand or price elasticity. Have fun with your mental maths

Ok, so your just an -Yoink!- on the internet.
I actually agree a bit with what your trying to say, but now I’m happy to leave you to the vultures while you try and hold this argument together.

Where is the information on 343i doing the books? I haven’t read, or seen anything concerning this. But I also don’t read them, nor did I bring up the cost of the book writers, the artists, the publishers, etc.
HCS is part of the profit from the store, the ones you purchase for the teams go to both the HCS and the teams.
Licensing fees, numbers are not posted that I am aware of.
Toy Sales, also not posted as part of this, and are usually under another company, not under 343i, or in the amount given in the initial investment.
The cost of gamepass was not included in any way, considering I went off of steam numbers.
No, I do not know the annual budget, because that was not part of this.

I am well versed in the avenues of business, considering I own one. You are attempting to throw as many things at me as you can to try and discredit me, without actually commenting on the substance of the initial post. I will not be replying to you further.

With the expectation that people will buy many overpriced items.

I doubt that everyone who worked on Halo Infinite will be working on the game for another 5 years.
Most of the people who worked on it were probably working on the campaign.

I don’t know if you know but the budget for this game is 500,000,000 over ten years.

No, you sound stupid, and ruin your points with skewed information. Which tells me you aren’t well versed in business at all. Or own a business I would use, if you don’t know how to tally losses and gains.

But I was just pointing it out to you.

Yes, they did it this way to monetize in a different way, of course. They are a business after all.

I can’t guarantee that, and wouldn’t know. But either way with the vast amount of cost that I left out, I’m sure the amount spent is close enough, or less, certainly not more, than what was and will be spent.

I’d rather they include all items in the Battle Passes, and also have those items on the store.
The way that Battle Pass progression and challenges work needs to change however.

Summary

Between your pathetic “commie” ad hominems and reading your responses to anyone who remotely disagrees, your posts prove otherwise. You’re the biggest “triggered snowflake” in this thread.

But please, feel free to keep carrying water for a studio that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft, a 2.4 trillion dollar valued company. I’m sure they need all your nickels and dimes.

You are incredible at mental gymnastics. You should try out for the Olympics, you are sure to get the gold. But it’s your fault if you are insulted by my words, not mine.

A business doesn’t have to be a representation of avarice.

I don’t believe for a second that you know what you’re talking about

By that logic I could threaten your life and say how many gruesome ways I wish it to end yet it would be your fault for getting worried.

Also, I have a very happy life. Unlike yours.

Also if you think nicke and diming customers for things that were previously standard, your “business” won’t last too long.

Stop investing all of your money in esports and maybe we wouldn’t have to offset those cost.

I could say the same thing for all sports honestly.

Because he doesn’t actually know how business works. Budget is separate from actuals.

Yea no one cares about what a purebred real american you are. It’s pathetic

If I mismanaged my business and then inflated my prices so my customers felt short changed and chose to no longer give me patron that would be one me.

I shouldn’t expect a person to pay 10 bucks for salt with a meal cause I broke 30 eggs before making an omelette.

You also don’t source anything. Weakens your argument.
You also omitted that the investment has given them a new proprietary engine and a platform for which future campaigns will be cheaper to build on.

These assets will be utilitied in other products.

Many prototypes may become products in their own rights.

Servers aren’t just there for halo they will be used in many ways. .

Infinite being part of a major multimedia ip will prophet from other avenues.
They already sold toy sets and tie i products. Theres a show, many tie in books.

The mp being “free” is also a bit disingenuous.
Most fans will be paying for the campaign of a gamepass sub, may have bought a new console and stayed in or joined the xbox ecosystem.
All revenue for the publisher derived from the product while making mp more accessible and thus capable of drawing in customers and squeeze added rev from existing customers who have already invested money.

The fact is this pricing is ridiculous and how they artificially gated it is worse.
No1 is against monetisation just blatantly ripping players off.
Plenty of highly profitable f2p games exist with fairer models.
The fact is every assets they sell in that store will be used to save money elsewhere or even sold to you in a different usecase.
Thats acceptable.
Monetisation acceptable.
Trying to rationalise predatory actions of a company that keeps touting pro consumer messaging and intentionally pushing the bounds of what can be removed and sold in addition.
Thats anything but acceptable.
Thats being destructive to others and ones self.
