If you love halo and hope it has a long and prosperous future you will do what this brilliant man says. But I know most of you will still preorder out of spite and we will likely all pay the price for it eventually.

Thanks for being part of the reason halo won’t last.

If Halo doesnt last, itll be this sort of thing.
I do agree pre-ordering this early isnt exactly intelligent, although if they like the beta that much why not? /shrug In the end, people with money spend it. Nothing you say or do will change that. I know Im not preordering until I know what the bonuses are for LE.
I’ll probably preorder, just for whatever bonus we end up getting. It doesn’t really bother me that MP doesn’t work on day one, as I never play MP day one anyway. And the beta seems to be working reasonably well, for a beta. So I see no cause for concern. The MCC was an exception, due to the outsourcing problem and the issue of putting five engines on one disk.

But like it says in the article, there’s millions of ways to obtain the editions so why would you need to pre-order it regardless? Sold out on amazon? try ebay. Ebay no good? try a local game shop etc.
I don’t see why people pre-order games these days. I remember when you had to pre-order GTA: San andreas otherwise it would actually be sold out.
Just wait till it’s out and see if the game is bugged to -Yoink- or not. Look how MCC turned out. They reeled us all in, suckered us to pre-order then give us a broken product.

You’re missing the point entirely. When decelopers know X amount of people are buying our game no matter what, it gives them the freedom to release a half -Yoinked!- piece of -Yoink- Console gaming is trending in a terrible direction. With all of the preorders these companies get, there’s no doubt this trend will continue. At some point people will stop buying AAA games because they are all broken to an extent. That will lead to the demise of not only halo, but console gaming altogether.

Because everybody absolutely needs that exclusive helmet that does absolutely nothing and will only be exclusive for 2 months! It boils down to the fact that many gamers are fools, I used to be one of them

Don’t forget that day one bonus 2x Exp!
It’s heartbreaking knowing that there’s people in this day in age that will still pre-order this

In fact don’t get it at all unless you want to see the Halo 4 & Halo The Master chief collection launch again. How many times do you all need to see that this will become a pattern if you keep ignoring this Stop Halo 5 from being Broken before Release

Most gamers are too stubborn to understand logic. I for one will be getting halo 5. But I’m buying it used so 343 doesn’t make a dime off me. Gamers will never learn, therefore neither will developers.

This is the correct way to purchase games. Stop being a willy and just buy the game used.
It’s usually cheaper then buying it new!

Not me. Even though I’m enjoying this beta and plan on buying the game I decided to play the safe side for now on…I’ll wait a week after release. Thanks to BF4 and MCC I will no longer preorder any multiplayer focused game until there’s world wide feedback after release.

Right now it is anyways, until developers stop raping their customers. I have no problem supporting a dev when they prove they will only release finished products. Right now there are very few devs that deserve this support

No one’s missing the point. You’re just making an idiotic argument. This is what is known as a “slippery slope fallacy.” You’re assuming a conclusion based on situation that, at best, might lead to such an extreme (this being the key word) far down the line. You’re also assuming, for whatever reason, that pre-orders are somehow the primary cause of this problem you perceive, with no evidence to support this direct causation and no acknowledgement at all of other factors. Even so, putting 5 dollars down at Game Stop or effectively reserving stock (for no cost) on Amazon or somewhere similar (either of which can be CANCELED) is the right of any consumer and if the game they get is broken, that was a risk they took and a problem they can take up with the people who made the game. This thread is stupid and no one needs you to tell them what to do.

Halo 4 worked fine at release and the MCC, while a huge mess, is an ENTIRELY different situation. It amazes me how many people don’t understand why the launch of MCC has no relation to Guardians at all, especially in light of this beta a year in advance that works great. That petition is worthless. Guardians won’t be broken and there is no intelligent reason to think it will be. Calm down.

Then how is the developer supposed to make a profit and carry on doing what they’re doing? Yes I love saving money as much as the next guy but when it comes to a franchise I have grown up with and spent countless hours on why wouldn’t I want to support them? If I want this game franchise to survive I will buy it fresh from retail.
Back to the original topic. I’ll pre-order later on, I never do it this early, hell I nearly missed out on a day one copy of Halo 4 because I ordered it so late.

You clearly aren’t smart enough to understand any of this. Move along you stubborn bull you. Go back to helping destroy console gaming.

343 has plenty of money man. They are owned by -Yoink!- afterall. Stop feeling bad for the developers who make billions on broken games. Send a message as a consumer, or continue to be a mindless sheep who will buy something because of the name on the box. Those are your 2 options
