What if there was 4 major fragments of Cortana. One was about peace and prosperity, another was all her personal experiences and ideas, another was for tactical thinking, and or strategy. And the last one was about keeping The MC alive and her mission alive as well. In this situation when the diedackt’s ( don’t know how to spell his name) ship blew up 4 data bases that contain vital information on every thing in that ship was sent to some foruner installation. When these data basses teleported to there set location something messed up and they all got split up and are lying dormant. One ended up on the planet exuberant is found on ( its the planet that MC goes to and a monitor is there) that fragment who is the one about peace and prosperity as we all know and hate as the current Cortana. The other locations of the other fragments are unknown. To speed up this story MC finds out the Cortana he knows now is just a fragment and the only way to stop her is by finding all the other fragments and uniteing them and send them all in the domain so they can all come back out as the Cortana we all know and love. The catch to this is that the problem with the fragment peace and prosperity (PAP) is that she will do anything to complete the task of PAP. That means her greates threat is MC because he as she knows is practically unstoppable so the best way to get him out of the picture is to capture him or kill him. So she went with manipulation and tried to capture him first. Her biggest weakness is that when all of Cortanas fragments split up in the 4 data basses some did not split correctly and it gave her some feelings for MC.
I would like to know the publics opinion on my idea and any questions u may have that I will answer tomorrow(for me) because it is 8:00pm and I’m tired from work.
It’s almost to generic for me. Not a bad theory… But far to generic. I’m honestly getting the “zelda” feel though.

First I thought this post is an advice to build your own Cortana.
Second,I dont think that you can split something complex like a mind in four pieces and then they work independly.

I agreed till they brought her back from the dead. At that point they just -Younked- who she was as a character. Then for the first time I actually hated her in halo. And when I play the older games I only see her as soon to be villain and resent her.

Halo 5 was so bad it almost makes this idea sound like good one. I would prefer Cortana gradually turning into something else than Cortana. Chief could try to have an impact on the parts of her which are not corrupted.
‘Tales from Slipspace’ already confirmed H5!Cortana is a coalition of rampant fragments - ergo what you propose has already been rendered impossible in canon. Also enough is enough with this “saving Neo-Cortana” nonsense. She killed millions of innocent people for no reason, enslaved millions of tortured souls for her own purposes, plus lied to and abused the Chief - she needs to be destroyed for good this time, and the Chief (and by extension players) need to learn to let go and move on. Anything else sends a ridiculously unhealthy message.

I would agree with you except for the fact she is at essence a computer program. If she was a mortal being then you could kill her and have all her wrongs blamed on her because it would be her choice. Computer programs can be rewritten and changed at there core so preform a different task. For an example you could take any app and re program it to become something different. Now an AI is way more complicated than an app but it is still due able. I’m not saying she shouldn’t be blamed for billions of people’s deaths but she is just a bunch of rampant parts that if reasonabled with all the missing parts she wouldn’t be the same one who killed thousands of people. May it be for better or worse I don’t know, but that’s my piece on this
I want what’s left of Cortana’s sacrifice to actually mean something so I’m hoping what’s left of her good self actually stays dead so we have something noble to remember her by.

I agree in the sense that it really sucks that Cortana’s sacrafice should mean something but after playing the misssion the breaking in Halo 5 Chief replies to the Warden’s question that he would side with hummanity agianst cortana. This really gives me the vibe that the Cortana we knew has changed and now chief must face his own worst enemy.
