Every game has some sort of instruction manual that is easily accessible and tells you how to play the game, what buttons to press on default layouts, and a little about the enemies, weapons, etc.
I can confirm that the game does NOT come with a manual.

ok yes. thats what im asking. does halo 4 come with a physical manual that has info on weapons, vehicles, enemies,etc like all the other halo games have had? alot of games these days dont have these (COD, Gears 3, battlefield 3, for example)
No, Halo 4 does NOT come with a manual.
The safety things are on the back of the cover sleeve, the only thing inside is the 2 discs and a 14 day trial to xbl.

This. I received my copy on Saturday and was surprised to find no manual.
The last game i had that came with an actual manual and not those paper thin ones was Blazblue: Calamity Trigger and that was at least two years ago…
I doubt Halo 4 will come with much of one, if at all. ME 3 had it’s manual within the game’s disk that you could view.

Oh yeah -.- i haven’t touched Skyrim in forever, Fallout NV and Fallout 3 came with one too.
Still, that trend with lighter than hell manuals is becoming quite popular to reduce costs.
