To anyone complaining about Day 1 DLC

> The competitive multiplayer modes of Halo 4 are known as War Games. The Limited Edition includes access to nine maps - three future competitive multiplayer map packs, each including three locations, available for download post-launch on Xbox LIVE. Yes, you read that correctly; you get nine maps in the form of future DLC with the purchase of the Halo 4 Limited Edition. Score!

The keyword in this is ‘Future’, meaning that the DLC won’t be available until a later date from release. This is pretty much a season pass to those who have the LE, once the DLC is released you’ll then be able to download it for free as opposed to those who didn’t get the LE who have to pay for them.

I should note that this is similar to how Battlefield 3 had it’s Back to Karkand mappack.

So don’t be confused and scorn 343 for your misinterpretation.

Might want to make that FUTURE!just in case…

I know I’m getting some future DLC with my Collector’s Edition of Darksiders II.

But we’re not talking about that game, however, there will probably still be people complaining about the DLC today.

But I must admit, I’m not a fan of the “Skin” DLC you get with the Limited Edition.

> Might want to make that FUTURE!just in case…

Yeah Forgot these forums could have large text.

Ehh… I’m always nervous when game developers are planning DLC before the game has even reached its final build.

Edit: Never mind, I looked over a few words in 343’s announcement.

Wait, some people thought the maps were day 1 DLC?

> Okay, so what about the six other maps? Making maps of all things exclusive to just limited edition owners is a bad idea, especially considering that Reach only had like nine maps to start with. What are the standard edition owners getting?

There are no other six maps only the nine that were mentioned.

> Okay, so what about the six other maps? Making maps of all things exclusive to just limited edition owners is a bad idea, especially considering that Reach only had like nine maps to start with. What are the standard edition owners getting?

No the maps aren’t restricted to LE owners only, just they get it for free whilst people who didn’t get the LE edition have to pay when they eventually release. I don’t know if I misinterpreted what you were saying.

Well, now I feel stupid. I really thought there’d be nine extra maps at launch, just for the exclusive Limited Edition owners club.

Ohwell, I suppose this is far preferable, and still well worth the extra expense. [:

No, I actually misinterpreted what 343i were saying. I thought they meant 3 maps as future DLC, but six exclusive maps on launch. I didn’t see the pack word for some reason.

Still, it makes me nervous about how many maps actually are in Halo 4’s multiplayer at launch. I don’t want another repeat of Reach, where most of the maps ended up taking place on Forge World.

And they didn’t even mention how much each mappack will be or if spartan ops missions will be included. I’m hoping for no spartan ops missions included and 800 MSP for each pack cuz I’m cheap. But everyone knows how companies will do their best to sell sell sell= money money money.

The Limited Edition maps? who knows. On one hand, I applaud the move to get people to upgrade for another $40 (59.99 - $99.99) because this does allow others to attach DLC achievements to the game automatically and let people get at them early when the population might be low.

If you could make more money or less, what would you want?
