Picture yourself watching the last two Harry Potter movies. The majority of us went in fully knowing what each character’s fate would be. Did that take away from the story? Or most importantly, did it take away from the experience of watching the entire story unfold?
No.
Some of us may know how Halo 4 ends, which is unfortunate, yes. But will that dictate what your time with the game will be like?
That is up to you, and you only. I walked into Deathly Hallows I and II with full knowledge of what was about to happen to the characters on screen that I had followed from the very beginning, but even then, just the experience of watching the epic story unfold in its entirety and in front of my very own eyes completely overshadowed all else. I still rooted for the characters that would eventually meet their demise, and in the end, the experience was still excellent.
This can be the case with Halo 4. Put the game into your disc tray with an open mind, there are still hours of fiction that you have not experienced for yourself. There are still many alien locations and secrets that are begging to be explored and appropriately experienced, and that’s the beauty of a Halo game. It wants to be explored. Not watched on YouTube via a 240p cell phone camera. Don’t let a bunch of hackers and thieves take a toll on your experience, which is what matters most.
All is not lost unless you make yourself believe all is lost.
My Statement has been withdrawn
the funness (?) of a story is opinion, some people find it fun to know the ending Reach… we all…or at least MOST of us know that Reach fellwhile some people want the tension to build and to expect certain things, but don’t KNOW if they are going to happen
Think of Reach.
“In the beginning you know the end.”

How about, watching the third last Harry Potter movie. People keep saying Dumbledore dies. Now if you’ve actually seen the movie, knowing that information before hand wouldn’t screw up the movies or the Franchise for you…
> it’s not as fun though, if you already know the ending
>
> this is why you don’t ready books in a random order, you read them front-to-back
I don’t believe the plot could make the game any funner. There are plenty of very fun games without any story.
Knowing what happens in a game that is its own property because of leaks is not the samething as knowing what happens in a movie based on a book after first reading the book.

That’s a matter of opinion, just like the original post.
it actually did ruin the movie for me, i didnt watch it because i already knew what happened
What I don’t understand is why people would watch it?
I never even watched the first mission played through in Halo 4.
And 343i released the play-through of that mission purposely.
I still didn’t watch it, I want the story to be a surprise.
Those who have watched those videos deserve what they got.
They shouldn’t have been watching leaked material.
That’s why I stopped watching Halo4Follower on YouTube.
He gave out too much leaked info, and being the natural supporter I am, refused to watch.
By the way, has Microsoft found the ones who did it?
I hope they do.
Whoever did it needs to be punished.
Take all of their moneyz, all of it…

Temptation. Some just can’t resist it. If I found the ending of Breaking Bad on YouTube this early on, I don’t think I’d be able to resist…

Microsoft has banned people from xbox live for having halo 4 early.
The fact someone has seen the ending shouldn’t blow off the rest of the game.
And if you think about it, you haven’t seen the ending.
This is only the beginning…
We’ve still got Halo’s 5 and 6 to look forward to.
And, possibly**, Halo’s 7, 8, and 9!
I agree with OP.
Just because you’ve seen the ending, doesn’t mean it’s pointless to play the rest of the Campaign.
I knew the ending to Halo 2 before I played it, but still enjoyed it nonetheless.
At the end of Halo 3, Chief destroys the Ark and escapes aboard the FuD.
Had I known that before playing Halo 3, I would’ve still played the Campaign.
Otherwise, I’d miss out on so much.
For example:
-Johnson dies.
-Chief kills 343GS.
-The Covenant vessel, High Charity, crashes to Earth. (not sure if that’s the correct one)
That’s to name a few.
Play the Campaign, you’ll still enjoy it.
I guarantee that.
It depends on how the story is told.
Some stories rely more on presentation than plot, which is why you can still see them despite knowing the ending. Some stories rely on the small details – even though we knew the large-scale ending for Reach the planet, we did not know the small-scale ending for Reach the game. But most stories rely on the reader or player not knowing what will happen until it does, and Halo 4 will most likely fall into that category.
So unfortunately, a person does not always have control over their enjoyment of a story whose ending they already know.

You do realize that other people can spoil a story for you without you doing anything to provoke it, right?

not for me, I wanted to know

Speaking of Harry, do the books end with the same crappy ending that the movies did? (I mean the part where Harry finds out he is not special, or “The Chosen One”. And the part where it shows harry as an old man with a kid)

He wasn’t the chosen one? I don’t remember that…lol.
On topic…If you saw the footage then don’t complain, if it was spoiled for you then I’m sorry. I know how it feels. I had a huge part of gears of war 3 spoiled for me on a random video I was watching. It was at the top of the comments. =\ sucke. But it didn’t mess up the story for me. I still played the campaign thru. The story still sucked me in regardless of what I had seen.
Someone posted a YouTube comment on one of my videos. Guess what is was?
> Someone posted a YouTube comment on one of my videos. Guess what is was?
I can guess, the same thing happened to me
As to the OP knowing the ending is a big deal and it does change the experiences leading up to it if you know what happens already.
