To everyone complaining for the sake of complaining. Suck it. Halo 5 is alive and well

They just got Req’d.
Reminds me of the thread asking how long the campaign too everyone and everyone said it was a longer time compared to their other games while we have so many “short campaign” posts.
Huh. Did they happen to break down the 400m as to how much of that was hardware and software?

This is awesome

Oh now that’s just priceless.
It actually only has the biggest launch because this time, 343 decides to invest more time and money into the launch of halo 5 than any other halo games they released. “Launch” does not mean it has sold more halo 5 guardian copies than the other halos. It just means that the event that they planned for the release of halo 5 was bigger than any other of the halo games.

I asked Bravo to make it a custom skin for me and he gave me a retweet, so fingers crossed.

After a game gets released, no matter how good it is, whiners storm the forums to cry. Seems like the cool thing to do nowadays, generation of cry babies.

Unlike most people, I never care about launch Sales. A good salesman can sell anything. I want to see population longevity numbers. It’s after those statistics become public months or years from now that final conclusions of a games success and failure is made. Halo 4 was conclusively a failure not because of sales but because of population longevity. The biggest concern for Halo 5 right now is lack of playlists and lack of Forge. Too many big games are coming out before those two issues will be addressed.

For gamers yes, h4 was a failure but you’re insane if you think Microsoft regards it as such. Kind of depends which side of the fence you’re on.
Bring back competitive multiplayer and yes you will have a successful Halo. We have been saying this since the day 343 screwed that up when they took over. Congrats on the multiple years it took you to figure it out. Halo 5 is a solid Halo, just needs a few twerks.
Well yeah… If you count hardware sales into that figure, I’m not surprised it raked in a boatload of cash. A more expensive console bundled with the game than previous Xboxes, multiple versions of special edition controllers, $200 freaking statues, etc. I’m more interested in the number of copies of the game they sold.

Just look at the hours everyone has put in in a week, it’s freaking insane.

Oh man, I hope they make a Whiner REQ pack. It comes with a AR that shoots nerf bullets, the Halo CE Magnum, and a gold skinned Battle Rifle.

Ok… 21m hours over the last 9 days(since some areas got the game on the 26th, and we’re halfway through today, I’m rounding to 9 days. That comes out to anywhere between 97k people playing 24/7 and 21m people playing for 1 hour. That’s a pretty broad span. Number of hours played doesn’t tell us much about how many copies were sold.

This.
If H5G made 400M$ in its opening weekend with software and hardware sales combined, then that means that if more than 200k of those Halo 5 console bundles were sold, its launch would not have been as good as Halo 3, let alone Halo 4.
