Halo 3, to me, was the Halo of Halo games, the numbers don’t lie.
In my opinion, Reach might have been Bungie’s swan song to Halo, but it was also a giant -Yoink- you to Microsoft.
I mean, the numbers are far lower than Halo 3 at this point, and the most popular playlist is Living Dead. Need I say more?
As far as ‘after launch’ maintenance is concerned, there has been nothing other than community maps and a few different playlists.
And the Noble map pack they released was created between going gold and release anyway. And the second pack was made by a subcontractor because Bungie didn’t want to.
But there is Hope.
Since 343 gained controle, they have been pulling out all the stops to make a better gaming experience for us all.
-They are bringing out new maps that arn’t just grey, green and blue.
-They have rolled out a TU Beta Playlist with changes to matchmaking to try and improve on what people dislike.
-They have created dedicated Threads to gain feed back from US, because they realise that ‘the fan’s know what the fan’s want’. (Bungie used to listen to their fans, but the last 12 months prove otherwise)
-They are also going to continue the TU Beta playlist After november 15th to continue to improve the game.
So, if your one of the people who thinks 343 are ruining Reach with their TU, go play Vannilla Reach, its not going anywhere.
But Caramel Reach is where it’s at!
No, Reach was the best and perfect Halo game. Until 343 came along and ruined it.
Now, I stopped reading the moment you brought up that -blam!- ‘REACH HAZ LOWER NUMBERZ THAN HALO 3’. No it doesn’t. Stop pulling numbers and false facts out of your -blam!-. People have recorded data from both games, and Halo Reach is doing ‘THE SAME/SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN HALO 3’. Don’t bring up lies in order to make Reach seem inferior to Halo 3. When it isn’t, it’s far superior.
The only thing that stops me from playing Zero Bloom playlists is that I’m not used to shot like-a-automatic-rifle with the DMR and it seems I will never be able…

Seriously, aren’t there enough of these kinds of threads? Some of you disliked Reach, the rest liked it. Some of you want the title update, the rest don’t.
Get.
Over.
It.
PLEASE!!!
Saying you play the better version or it’s not what it used to be and insert cry here and whine there. The game isn’t defined by one group of people. It’s To Each Their Own.
I enjoyed Reach for what it was. I find annoyances but all in all, I’m looking to be entertained and it does it’s job. No fanboy or Title Update whine will change that for me. I was miffed about the TU being that I was already use to it as it was delivered. If I get stuck in the TU list when playing with people later on, I’ll do what all the complainers on BOTH ends fail to do - Adapt. It’s not that hard and it won’t kill you.
Now, I’ll just wait for another 20+ of these threads to pop up because it’s virtually inevitable. Sucks that people have to build up something for fun into something overly serious. Shame shame shame.
> I still love reach, no matter the bloom, no matter all the changes I will still love reach
This is my “foot in the dirt as well.”
It certainly isn’t perfect but it wasn’t something that felt like a rinse and repeat. To me anyway. Everybody on here is purely speculative anyway. A popular property is only as popular as it’s fanbase and in this case, it’s a sad fanbase b/c it’s so volatile to each other in terms of “What Halo Is”.
In the end, it’s a Game and it’s meant to be for entertainment, passing time and having fun. I think people have wasted more man-hours making threads and arguing about the Halo-Verse than has been put into the devs making AND players playing the game itself.

Another good point. Games today are in higher competition with each other than, obviously, when Halo CE debuted.

Good games will have all time a sufficient population like Halo 2, Halo 3, Quake Arena, Nexuiz, Battlefront 2, …
It’s just now that every game plays and looks really similary and that’s why people change everytime for the new game because it’s still the same but with better graphics.

on pc it used to be CS/COD/BF 8years back, and now its LOL, wow, mw, BC, TF, CSS etc etc etc and even freakin minecraft.
on xbox it always seemed to be halo, but mw and other great games came along.
but i find it always strange why people move from games(fun players?), i played cs now 9 years, and never played anything else except halo or some games doh.
but ya can see the mayority move to games on steam and the xbox charts… its insane to watch… and then ya have blizzard with 10mil active ppl per week

no every game has major difrences, its maybe the casual player that think its not…

If you don’t like the TU play-list, don’t play it, that is the beauty of it, so you can stop crying about that, but on the Premium Battle play-list merge, yeah I liked it as two separate play-lists, preferably Noble and Defiant play-lists.

Nope they aren’t. They have really similiar gameplay mechanics, graphics, stories and etc. .
Many Indie Games are way more innovative and make things more fun and balanced in terms of gameplay and story. BF 3 and COD MW3 just look really the same in my opinion. Different graphics. Pretty much the same story (bad russians, lovely americans)…
I jump back and forth between games. I like variety if anything, to me it keeps Reach alive b/c if I DO get annoyed/bored with it, I always have other options which take the edge off. My long term games that I’ve favored and only do not play b/c of friends no longer having said games are/were:
Reach
Transformers WFC
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Halo 3 (now Reach)
Red Dead Redemption
COD4/MW2 (no more/never again)
BFBC (see above)
The top 3 stand as the ones I’ve played the longest on a regular basis.

> Can you give a link with Bungie saying they didn’t want to make the Defiant Map Pack? (far superior maps as well for current Reach DLC, IMO)
Ignore Astro. He’s just a jaded fan.
Defiant was 343’s opportunity to put their first integration into Reach. Their first true foray into Halo will be CEA.
Bungie just decided they wanted to move onto something new and different. That’s the basis of their “abandoning” Halo in which they didn’t. 343 is still comprised of former Bungie employees so it’s more of like a piece of Bungie broken off into it’s own entity. Just not definitively Bungie.

well sorry im not even going to reply on that, if ya did some research and knew the difrences i woud debate ya…
and i dont wanna make a too long story and be capt obvious for myself…\
my gues you dont even know what game generation were in and comparing mw and BF too each other makes it all clear to me kido.
