To all Elite fans, you will never play again.

A recent revelation has come to me. You will never again be able to play as an elite, and will forever be forced to be a spartan.

Why, you may ask?

Well, 343 made the stupid decision to make Halo 4 multiplayer canonical. This has been known for a while, sure. And sure, this alone doesn’t constitute for dropping elites. Why cant elites be on the infinity training too? It could easily be explained; but i’m going to tell you why it won’t happen.

343 also decided to make forerunner weapons usable.

With multiplayer being canonical, and forerunner weapons being in multiplayer, elites will never be playable again, even in the upcoming halo 5 or even 6, because elites cannot use forerunner technology.

Now, 343 could always make it so elites could use forerunner tech, but they seem to be going off on a “Humanity iz so speshul” tangent so don’t count on it.

So there you have it! That’s why you can’t, and never will again, be able to play as an elite. And that’s why i’m not going to bother buying Halo 5.

humans are cooler bro.

If I wanted to be human, i’d be playing Call of Duty.

Human and the Elites erupt into a full scale war in Halo 5. Multiplayer takes place in multiple battles between Elites and Spartans.

Issue solved.

Well it is disappointing that we cannot play as Elites, but they may change their mind afterwards. Never know what 343 will do with the series. Though it would be awesome if we could play as Elites again (I was a all Elite player from the start of Halo 2.) Still, it’s their surprise.

They could reintroduce Invasion again and say something like, “Oh it’s the Spartans doing a mission on requiem.” Which is probably as close as you’d be able to get as playing as an Elite.

Really? This is sad! You are not buying another Halo just because you can’t play as an elite!

Freebutter178 that won’t happen, because forerunner technology would be unplayable to the elite players without messing up the canon.

If multiplayer wasn’t canon, this wouldn’t be an issue. But it is.

Playing as the Elites was stupid. They had horrible weapons compared to the UNSC. SPARTANS FOR THE WIN!

Scout, yes, i’d rather not waste my money to see 343 bastardize the faction that I prefer even more.

I043, in the actual canon a single plasma bolt from a plasma rifle would shoot through your chest regardless of what armor you were wearing. The weapons are dumbed down to make the game playable. I guarantee if they showed their actual damage in-game, you would all only be using them.

And it’s not even the weapons. It’s their military doctrine, their honor code, the design of their armor. All of it I prefer over the spartans; and especially the pathetically undisciplined “I was keeping the colony girls ‘safe’” Spartan IV’s.

I’m glad there are no more dinosaurs as playables.

They removed Elites from Multiplayer because of their increased shielding and stature.

“Why don’t they bring back the Halo 3 Elites?”

Please, those guys looked like Elites crushed into a weird, compact Spartan size without the neck hitbox.

Yeah, I miss 'em too.

OMG I CANT PLAY AS A COOL DINOSAUR DUDE! HALO IS DEAD! RUINED FOREVER, DONT BUY!

Get over it. If you wanna play as an elite that badly, boot up Reach and grab some friends for some elite-only customs.

Thats not really a problem… Remember in… Mission 6 I think it is in Halo 4, at the second tower on the gondola, cortana tells you that the didact has given the covenant access to the gondola override/controls.

The covies are fighting for the didact. It seems like a perfectly reasonable canonical explanation that the didact would be able to modify or unlock the forerunner weapons in order for the covies to use them.

I mean, all it would take is a wave of his hand, right? ba dum tsssh!

I will forever miss Sangheili in multiplayer. As a former member of the Sovereign Guard during Halo 2 and Halo 3, their death was somewhat disturbing to me.

Id rather see them bring them back but only in its own playlist.

þossible chance of seeing Elites in haLo 5 would be nice =) hopefully they will make there return

I don’t think that Covenant can’t use ANY Forerunner tech?

I even thought that the covenant weapons were made by reverse-engineering forerunner tech.
The halo rings had to be activated by a human, but I thought that was just because it was pretty major tech?

:edit:
343i can change it asily, what if the Elites “reverse engineer” the tech, and develop some sort of add-on to their armour which tricks or forces the F-tech to work?

Besides, what if there’s another Reach/ODST spinoff, but one where the whole campaign is playing as elites, and a multiplayer with elites?

What if they patch elites into this game somehow and just go on the fact it’s a “simulation” so they bend the rules a bit for the elites?
