To 343….

Look I know I’ve been prickly, and just downright harsh on you guys a lot. But know this, it’s not because I hate you, it’s because I want to see you unify the community as Bungie did. The problem is Halo 5 has cause more of a collapse in the community than any other title. However I do have some solutions to this for custom games that won’t affect mm at all, so balancing doesn’t have to be an issue.

  • Weapon Slider for custom Super Fiesta settings allowing you to pick and prevent certain weapons from showing up in the mode.

  • Life counter from 1-10 before hitting unlimited allowing for Smash Bros styled stock matches like the older Halos had.

  • The ability to add random weapon spawns to ANY game type including infection, again like the older Halos. I miss Fiesta infection…

  • The ability to disable slide entirely allowing for more Reach friendly modes.

  • Armor abilites exclusive to custom games like Hardlight shield, Jet pack, and Bubble Shield.

  • The ability to make walking sfx quieter so its easier to pull off a sneak attack.

  • an option that allows you to disable dev kill barriers so we can actually enjoy Tidal.

  • Warzone/Firefight official customs

And that’s about it. Custom games are pretty hard for the casuals to enjoy without the older array of variations. Just a friendly suggestion, make sure that customs have as much variety as possible if you’re gonna make a competitive focused game.

Are you some sort of 343 smurf account attempting to derail every thread that isn’t kissing 343 -Yoink-? All your replies to people’s posts today don’t make any sense in the slightest.

You need to stop.

Hoo boy where to start with this one? Well first off I’m no Bungie fanboy. While I do enjoy the older games, Halo 4 is among my top 3 favorite Halos. I like 343, they do good work, when -Yoink!- doesn’t interfere.

As for Bungie not caring, you couldn’t be more misinformed. Bungie was aware that -Yoink!- wanted to stick their metaphorical finger in the Halo Pie so to speak and Bungie wasn’t down with that. So when Bungies contract expired, they decided to work on Destiny, although partnering with Activision was a poor career choice for them.

As for “listening to youtubers” yes I do, because unlike most of what’s left of the community they actually know what they’re talking about, if you want an example of the community being clueless just reread your own comment a few times, it’ll sink in fast. As for “writing this before” No I haven’t. This is the first post on this particualr idea set I’ve made on this site so please, at least bother to look up my post history before making baseless accusations.

So tell me how is what I wrote “absolute rubbish” when all it asks for is some content for custom games? Hmm. Don’t have an answer, didn’t think so. As for comments and likes, who cares? I’m not looking for comments or likes, they mean little to nothing to me, especially on this site, unless they’re like one of the few comments that actually makes some good points, yours does not, it just proves you like to yell, flame, attack, and constantly misspell baseless arguments against other users who post their ideas, probably out of jealousy since you didn’t come up with them first.

As for liking Halo 5….well no, I don’t. I personally think it’s easily the worst of the franchise in all of its aspects, yes even the forge. Not because of 343 though, oh, no, it gets even more meta than that, it’s all on -Yoink!-, they rushed 343, while simultaneously pushing for a MT system AFTER the Beta ended giving us a final product that is actually less functional than the Beta. That being said I don’t hate 343 on any level, but that doesn’t mean I blindly praise them as most do these days. If you genuinely like a company, you need to be willing to call them out on their shortcomings.

If 343 makes Halo 6, more like a combination of 3, Reach, and 4 in terms of it’s game mechanics, and removes everything Halo 5 added, I’d definately pick up a used copy. Tbh 343 should just release a demo for H6 with Customs and Forge as the only options so players can get a feel for the game and decide whether to buy the final version or not.

As for your comment, you neeed to chill out. People have opinions, and posts like yours will get you banned by the admins for flaming/non-constructive posts, etc. I’ve seen it happen to other users numerous times. So next time you might wanna keep your temper in check, just a friendly heads up.

Vegan are you referring to me or the other guy? I typically don’t try to cause too much trouble around here.

I have been a B.Net member for over ten years. Bungie did not unify the community. Especially after the launch of Halo Reach. There has always been divisions over different things. Armour lock, sprint, recon, bubble shields, jet packs etc etc. Halo 3 going MLG started WW3 over there.

If 343i make a great Halo game the community will mostly come around. However, they will not please everyone. Changes made will continue to split opinions.

I am taking psychology this semester in university and it’s interesting to how things in retrospect may not be what you recall it to be at all. For some of us here, being younger made us less critical and less aware of the situation back then. For others, current stigmas and generalizations and stress may lead us to rationalizing and projecting our own excuses which may alter our memories as a stress release mechanism. Indeed, like two have mentioned above… the community was split for a long duration over some matters even while bungie was still heading it. From my own memories there were always some sort of disputes on bungie.net… and I first got on there during halo 3. I share the same feelings you do about it as do many others. People don’t like change… it makes us/them feel insecure. But without change nothing will get better. So sometimes we must compromise our comfort… try something new. Sometimes we won’t like it even after we get used to it… that’s fine. Then we give 343 constructive feedback. It’s then upon 343 to please as many players as possible with their patches/updates… or in future installations of the game.

What I am saying is, try to assess the situation as rationally as possible, disconnecting yourself and your emotions from the equation and become an observer. It might help make the reality of things more visible, and then from there we can work to improve the franchise we love so dearly toghether.

Perhaps unify was the wrong term, but back when Bungie ran the show, the community, at least in-game seemed, friendlier, open to new ideas, and even dowright helpful when your team ended up in a tight spot. With this current community, especially in-game players seem Toxic, close-minded, and self-centered. Those traits to me don’t make a good community.

Well to be honest, I didn’t have a 360 until I was 16, and that was about 8 months before Reach launched, maybe 9 but still to me the community seemed far more well… connected than it is now.

(o_0) I think you might have nostalgia glasses on because the community was toxic back then as well. It actually seems less now because hardly anyone talks anymore in the game compared to back then when every game you would have someone talking. I agree with eviltedi. Even after H2 came out, people were divided because they thought Halo was ruined.
