The 25th is coming up and I’m hoping that you guys would be willing to update the playlists. I had expressed before, on another account, the desire to have two permanent, preferably ranked Double EXP playlists - one for Team Slayer and the other for FFA - but ANY update of any kind (again, preferably ranked, not to belittle social) would be appreciated and suitable on the anniversary of the game’s release. I don’t assume it would take too long to update the playlists. If new ones can’t be made then older playlists could be brought back (i.e. Squad Battle, 3 Ball, MLG FFA, etc).

I had some ideas for a nice update, personally:

Potential new Ranked playlists:

Ranked Multi-Team (with removal of Team Hammers and VIP)
CTF and Assault (all ctf and assault, all the time, teams of 4-6)
Tug of War (the Slayer variant where dying removes points, would be very interesting to play at high levels)

Potential new Social playlists:

Octagon (FFA on the Foundry map Octagon with Battle Rifle and Sniper/Beam Rifle starts - a good warm up playlist)
Ricochet (like the Halo 4 gametype, with points adjusted for each bomb detonation and the final score, a speed increase and only touchdowns)
Swords (like the Lone Wolves gametype - personally, I wish this could be a ranked playlist but seeing as host connection plays a huge role in this gametype, it wouldn’t seem right)
Community (playlist with Ghostbusters, Jenga, Bumper Cars, Cops and Robbers, Duck Hunt and Fat Kid - last one would be fine since K/D isn’t tracked anymore)

Ranked playlists I’d like to see return:

Living Dead (not just on Halloween, either)
Mythic Brawl
Squad Battle or Ranked Big Team
Team Control (not just Territories but with KOTH as well)
Team Throwback

Social playlists I’d like to see return:

Rocket Race
Grifball
3 Ball

Now, of course adding all of these would be a lot, so they’re simply suggestions. If it were as simple as getting one more ranked and one more social playlist, I’d be happy. People still play H3 regularly and it’s a testament to how much we love the game. I’ve watched its playlists remain dormant. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for an update, especially since the game is to be released for free soon through games with gold, which I’m certain will boost its population by a lot.

Yea man most of that i don’t see happening, but they did say they are going to do a consolidation. witch means they will remove playlists that are inactive and probably combine them with other ones. If they do this that means that there will be faster search times witch reduces stress on the servers. Im not saying that all that stuff is going to happen its just that there’s not enough people to support all of those playlists

If it means updating all of the playlists that remain to include more gametypes then I’m all for it, but it just seems odd to me that it’s even necessary. I’m not sure how much “server stress” they’re even getting by having more playlists - games are peer-to-peer, their servers only manage matchmaking and the population being small is the exact reason why it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

I don’t see ALL of that happening either, but like I said, one or two new playlists to mix things up a bit would seem perfectly reasonable to me.

Yea i agree with you. Frank O’Connor already confirmed it. They did one for Reach and all they did was remove playlists and that’s all. So that’s what probably going to happen to halo 3, considering its an older game. If they do add any playlists it should just be Double exp Weekend (Thursday-Monday) and make it rotational games just like it used to be.

That’d be fine, the thing is I don’t if they’re willing to go to those lengths. It’d probably be easier to just to make a playlist with all of those various gametypes featured in the double EXP weekends and leave it there. If they’re willing to bring back legitimate double EXP weekends then that’s great.
