“The title update that 343 is coming out with is gonna fix so much stuff wait and see.”
I’ve heard and read that more times than I care to recount. Finally last week we get a tiny piece of info about the tu. “We are nerfing the boltshot…more news to come.” YES, I am excited for the REST of the new about title update.
So now we get the real meat and potatoes of the tu. Drumroll please, the only major change is the slight nerf of the bolthsot range.
A bunch of the issues they are patching are under the “gamplay” section aren’t really game play issues just patches of broken things. Not sandbox issues.
There are pages and pages complaining about what weapons and aa should be changed. Yet, all they do is one tiny little nerf on the range of osk boltshots? What about the dmr (nerf), the br (buff), camo (why is it in the game first of all or at least change the radar jammer), pv (doesn’t give off rd circle when player using is crouched) and FLINCH (please make it like previous halos where you are descoped after being shot). These things all need to be fixed. Yet their is no mention and now we wait…again.
So is it gonna be the second title update that saves halo because this one is pretty weak sauce. They didn’t change the sandbox at all with this title update just more patches to stuff that should have been working from the start.
When does the rookie pass for 343 wear out? Because my patience is running pretty thin. ALL of these issues they are patching now should have NEVER shipped and could have been solved with a beta.
Now we are almost four months int this games life cycle and I would agree we are further than we were four months or even a month ago, but still far far far away from where a AAA Halo title should be.
I’ve honestly lost hope in 343 long ago. Halo 4 had the potential to be amazing but it fell way short because I just don’t think they care. They got their payday, they’re all set. I continue to play because I love the Halo universe but it just truly seems like they’ve given up on us, which is fine because I’ve given up on them.
Why buff the br if the dmr is getting nerfed, and why make PV invisible when someon is crouching. That would lead to even more camping and you would not know if someone is using it.
While i do believe that Destiny will blow are minds, i have to see it to believe it.
Im disappointed about the lack of a dmr nerf too. Best thing to do is to hope that things change for the next two games
@Legend The pv red circle does not appear when you are crouching now, you dont know when someone uses it and they are crouched. That should be changed. Either a br buff or dmr nerf either one would have been fine to equal out those two weapons.
So I haven’t been online in a few days, but I was excited for the Title Update…key word…WAS. I don’t even think im shocked at this point that they ignored the community on SO many issues. I’m thinking Halo is just going to be a Campaign game for me in the future… Can’t wait for Destiny, I have real faith in Bungie to put forward a great game!
> Relax dude, forget Halo, forget 343i. They clearly don’t want our money. Destiny is coming.
Better start saving your money for a PS4 if you want the exclusive content. Also hope your not looking for a competitive arena experience. You’re getting WoW meets Halo from the sounds of it.
I never really shared the big TU wishes that others on this forum have spoken up about. I enjoy the game as is and do not actively seek additional change.
The biggest complaint by far has been the bolt shot, and that is now addressed. So, don’t you have to give them credit for addressing what was clearly THE biggest issue?
That being said, this community has a lot of complaints, even if I do not think they are representative of the entire population (e.g. me and my ilk who don’t have anything bad to say). I guess I did expect a more robust TU given the amount of complaining on these forums…
Truly though, my last post made me wonder. If you itemized every complainer on these forums, what percent of the total game’s population would that make up?
Just because you yell the loudest doesn’t mean you’re the majority…
Not knocking anyone here, especially those who legitimately state the reasons for their complaints. Just saying… what about those of us who think this TU is a measured response to a lot of feedback that has been all over the map. There is such a thing as a silent majority, and that might inform how this TU was resourced.

That seems to be 343’s viewpoint as well. They think the “competitive” community is only a small percent, but I think the population decline speaks for itself. People play to win. They play for accomplishments. Rank is a perfect incentive. At least most of us here can say we told you so 343.

TU shows exactly how much they “listen” to us.
destiny is -Yoinking!-,(Yea, i said it) selling my xbox and moving to ps4. they have better exclusives anyway
I intend to get Destiny as well, but I’m gonna stay with Xbox consoles. I’d never get a PS3 or 4 purely for the fact that the PS controllers are terrible compared to Xbox ones (IMO).
Seriously, the only things that are fun for me now in Halo 4 are Spartan Ops and, of course, Campaign. The online just feels pretty lame right now. Although the new Infinity Rumble playlist might be good when it comes out…
Has all or most of community formed a consensus on whether the DMR should be nerfed, to what degree it should be nerfed, in what manner it should be nerfed, and how to measure the efficacy of that nerf? :\
The DMR is a primary precision loadout weapon. Changing it in any manner will have significant and far-reaching effects on the game’s balance, and depending on the nerfs that are applied, those effects might not be good. Personally, I hope that 343i is taking their time and deliberating on this, to make sure that the weapon is changed in an ideal manner.
