title update...it's what reach should've been

But the title update should’ve been to fix these.

bad spawn system
bad rank system=bad team mates
bad point system=afkers
bad maps
overpowered grenades=tons of team kills(i do it too)
inbalanced weapons to the max=rockets=nukes shotguns=snipers
you move too slow, you can’t jump high enough
overall lack of skill gap
armour abilities=adds a rock paper scissors scenerio
sprint was never meant for halo (double beat down at mid range combat) it is also a get out of jail free card.
armour lock= slows down gameplay=anyones kill or death
camo=they always get the drop
jetpack=pointless map layout.
assassinations go off when you only tap the button…

…and the list goes on. my quesiton is why do morons act like there’s nothing wrong with this game and continue to defend it?

LOL… All games have something wrong with them.
I am all for the removal of Armour Lock (Campaign and MP) but i am of the firm belief that it enhances the game play. Sprint isn’t as much of a get out of jail free card as the way over powered melee and super jumping in H3. Sprint is far more tactically based, and any skilled player who cannot kill a sprinter should go back to H3… just sayin.
Im not big on jet packs personally, but i have no problem with them. As for the weapon balance, im not sure what game your playing, but it’s not Halo Reach! The spawns are pretty decent for what they do, i am a little angered at the overpowered grenades and the 4 shot RL (as opposed to a 2 shot with one or two refills scattered on the map to make it more challenging to use).

Im not “defending” Reach, im just pointing out the flaws in your argument.

PS: Shotgun range in Reach counter balances Sword Use…

Lol, the shotgun is worse in this game than Halo 3, I can shoot someone point blank range in the head with with one and it will not even kill them.

> inbalanced weapons to the max=rockets=nukes shotguns=snipers

I agree with most of these, but this one, eeeeh… Rockets are SUPPOSED to be powerful. It’s a f’ing ROCKET for Christ’s sake! I don’t want to shoot somebody and have them walk away, it’s a power weapon, it’s to be feared and fought over!

Also, the Shotgun is NOT a sniper. Ever play Halo: CE? EVER? I got killed from a shotgun from the top of blue base to the top of red base. The entire length of the map (corner to corner) I got killed by a Shotgun. The Reach Shotgun is lucky if it can kill at 4 feet, not to mention 50. Trust me, the weapons are pretty well balanced.

The spawn system itself actually works very well when given proper placement and zones.

The problem is that, if you look in forge, Bungie clearly did a very quick job of this and did not put much thought into it. And many forgers prefer to just blame the system than take accountability for poorly-designed maps.

Where to start… First, this is not a flame post. I’m honestly curious about certain claims that always seem to be made and are mode in the OP.

How does Reach have a “bad” spawn system? Specifically, give concrete examples of how the system is broken. The only example I know is the spawn delay in Invasion. But the rest of MM, what’s the deal? Bad placement? Too long? Too short? I’ve never seen any particular problem with spawns, so what problem do you have?

There is no rank system other than TrueSkill. And going into any game with randoms on your team is going to give an “uneven experience.” That’s the nature having humans on your team. Some you like others you don’t. I don’t know how you fix that. I would like a concrete example of how you fix the “bad ranking system.”

I can’t argue the AFKers. Drove me nuts in FF for months. But the full credit reset Banhammer seems to have decreased that part of the population and the problem seems to be more under control. (Not totally under control though.)

Which maps are “bad?” How are they bad? How do you fix the “bad” parts of the maps. Again, I see a blanket statement that give no concrete examples of how the maps are actually bad.

Some people dealt with other aspects, so I’ll hit the last unclear statement. Define the “skill gap.” How does one know what one’s skill is? Is it being able to pull the trigger rapidly (spamming)? Or being able to pace your shots? Both are skills with real weapons and will have those who are good with that skill and those who are terrible. Which is more valuable? How do you know there is an actual gap in skill in any one board/map/game for any particular skill or lack thereof? What are the objective criteria for defining the “skill gap?”

I can continue, but I’d like clear, concise, concrete examples of the above first before dealing with anything else in the OP. Otherwise, how are we to evaluate a person’s statement to know whether problems do in fact actually exist?
