I was trying to make an Elite, Oddball gametype, using TU gametype settings. The only issue is that since the only TU Oddball gametype comes from matchmaking, it forces you to be a Spartan, no matter what your player is set to.
Any ideas on how to get around that?
Also, why has 343 not released TU gametypes themselves, on say, an official fileshare? If they can force you Spartan, surely they could make gametypes where you can choose your player model (which is default for non-MM gametypes), or ones that force you to Elite.
Right now, it seems that the only TU gametype you can play as an Elite on is Slayer.
Theres no love for elites. Every playlisy/gametype that is spartans should have an elite version aswell.
I dont think you can get around your problem
Hell, there doesn’t seem to be love for anything involving custom games. Infection, VIP etc were created because of custom games that people made up in halo 2, and Bungie felt like scripting them as gametypes. Yet in Reach, Bungie (and now 343) only make scripted gametypes for MM use.
Things in MM are so limited, because it has to be set up perfectly for fairness, and be able to be scored, rather than custom games where you could make your own objectives, and use honor rules, for purpose of fun.
Even if we can’t use their tools, has there really never been someone at 343 who thought of a gametype change for their own custom games, and had whoever is in control of scripting make it for them?
