I was wondering… would it be possible for you guys to bring something very close to Halo CE gameplay by modding the current weapon/melee mechanics of Reach and replacing the current Team Classic gameplay with that?
I don’t care if I don’t get a direct answer (or an answer at all), but if you don’t want to spoil anything (yet), just give us a hint

To Frankie, as it was made out the way you talked about Reach being “perfect”, shocked a lot of the old competitive fans such as myself. To me anyway it seemed like you were saying the title update won’t change Reach because you see no wrong with it. Obviously this has been cleared up with you’re bungie.net posts.
All i want and people like me is the Halo back to the way it used to be. I’m sure you know this. I actually now think it’s a smart move with sectioning this part of the game off. But please make it feel like a new game.
Your real challenge awaits when making the Halo 4 gameplay, you can’t make 2 versions of the game then can you

Nothing would make fans madder than us announcing or teasing a feature that then had to be removed, so please be patient with us. I can say that I have tried a few elements of the TU and that I had a blast.

All online Halos have had different versions of the game able to play online.
Iunno, take SWAT for example, compare it to default Reach gameplay.
Or SWAT to default H3 gameplay.
If H4 has as many whiners as Reach did, you can bet there will be different ‘versions’ of the game able to be played.
Edit: Frank, We know that. Here’s lookin’ at you, Bungie, and your ‘Global Battle’ and multiplayer space combat that you showed were cut before game release.
Canonicaly Mk IV suits were virtually bullet proof because they were so bulky. Of course you could say the same looking at MK V and MK VI suits as well, but compared to the then futuristic bullet weapons, MK IV WAS virtually bullet proof.
And you know? I’d say in Halo 4, include everything from the H1, H2, H3 that made them great into a classic hopper, then further refine Reach’s ideas and add it to a traditional hopper.
Then everyone and their mother can be happy, but I don’t doubt elitism would be abound.

OT: Ohh Frankie, you were always my favorite since the good old H2 days, the bungie podcasts weren’t the same without you glad to have you back :D.
On topic: I think what’s best for us to do everyone is just speculate and have fun with it, don’t get overly serious about the TU and trust 343i with what both sides of these arguments want. They’re listening, options options and more options, all I hear is talk about functionality and choose what you play, and I can’t be more excited.
For dozens of times asked, please include in the Title Update (or even quicker if possible) a normal playlist that exclude all AA except Sprint. I’m tired, tons of other players feel the same for sure.

Now i’m looking foward even more to what you guys are testing for the TU.
Tip: If Halo CE gameplay in Reach is possible, don’t make the hitscan pistol 3sk or make it have bloom, instead, no bloom, 4sk with a set fire rate. (Just saying)
I’m ok with bloom, but fixing grenades and changing drastically playlists is a must. Not everyone enjoy AAs and OP nades, but from what I see no one actually cares about competitive players.

Quick question- I would like to know is if there will be a few features that will be changed over all playlist and not just a new and improved classic playlist?
I don’t need a specific example, but a yes or no would be appericiated.
I want to reply to you and state how i feel…
Reach is a good product that needs some tweaking… but not a ton to be even better…
Truthfully, the majority of people can be happy with something and research show the minority that aren’t happy will make more complaints then those who are happy will make compliments.
Some complain about the ‘bloom’ of the DMR… Bloom is nothing more then another way to simulate recoil… for those kiddies out there who havent fired a real gun… accuracy always wins over anything else… and recoil in a weapon seriously lowers accuracy. Bloom was put in the game to add to realism… Instead some people get mad… maybe mostly kids who just want to shoot (pull the trigger ) as fast as they can instead… Pulling the trigger faster has ZERO to do with skill… If bloom was removed from the DMR - Then killing would have less to do with skill and more to do with who saw who first and pulled the trigger faster… Its like spawn kills… you see them first and its game over for them…
Secondly… some complain about the game not being ‘balanced’ in Reach… Honestly this is a stretch… I’ve been playing Halo since the 360 launched ( it launched about a year after Halo 2 was released )… So Halo 2 was my first Halo game… As someone who is good with the sniper ( but not as great as some are) I can say Halo has NEVER been balanced… If anyone here TRIES to deny we’ve never seen ( or personally done this )… the sniper is the most unbalanced weapon ever… And yet we all love it and dont complain… and try to say ‘Reach’ is unbalanced… All Halo games are unbalanced… A great sniper can defeat an entire team by themselves ! The sniper rifle is as deadly as a shotgun ( close range ) - is more deadly then a medium range DMR or BR, and long range you have no chance… Anyone say thats balanced? None of the games have ever been balanced… Rockets in Reach are as powerful as Halo 2 rockets thankfully… they really nerfed them in Halo 3… You would shoot a rocket at someones feet and they somehow live sometimes… a freaking rocket meant to destroy a tank…
Ok… now what do i feel needs fixed or tweaked ?

Please add back a NUMBER to show a rank… even if you keep the divisions somehow… I feel a NUMBER would at least show where someone is in their division… I think in previous halo’s ranking up was too fast or easy… If you keep the divisions… maybe you could do a 1-25 in each division ?? This would give a person MORE to work for…
Also… I like how you get a ten minute ban for quiting out… some people complain… but its not like you get a 10 minute ban for quitting 2 or 3 times… you have to quit alot… and even then the clock resets in just days… Those who complain of this I feel are just pissed they cant derank as easy…
Secondly… grenades are not over-powered in my epinion… while REAL LIFE grenades are able to blow off someones entire leg - or blow a persons chest apart… I feel TOO many grenades are being thrown… Some games are won by grenade spamming !! How about a lower spawn rate for grenades… so that way games are won less on grenade spams… and more on skill…
Lastly Halo Reach surpassed Halo 2 recently in world sales… I think this is an accomplishment for a game that critics said wouldnt even outsell ODST… Now Reach is the number two best selling Halo, behind Halo 3… It outsold Halo 2’s lifetime sales in less then a single year! I think this is amazing… because Halo Reach is competing against better games and a much more broad & better selection… When Halo 2 was out it was really IN MY HONEST OPINION about the only game that was great on the Xbox… so everyone bought it… Reach is only about 2.7 million behind Halo 3’s lifetime sales… I dont think it’ll surpass Halo 3… but It think it could get close in another year of Reach sales… I know my cousin and I personally bought several Halo 2 disc each just from breaking or scratching them…

Halo ODST - 5.88 million
