How is this overreacting? How many people wanted H1 to be online? They asked us what we wanted in the TU, there was a thread with over 700 posts asking for tweaks to bloom, and now there saying “were not stupid to change one of the best FPS games ever made”.
> > > > > The only thing I REALLY want fixed in the TU is the Banshee. Everything else (whilst not being perfect) I can live with. I mostly play BTB and the Banshee just completely screws up any map that its in. Esp Spire. If they can throw in some new forge pieces that would be extra swell.

Regardless of what he says, Reach haters will jump the gun and overreact, while Reach lovers will try to defend Reach and possibly what he says and also overreact. It’s not about if Reach is truely a good or bad game; it’s how the community will react to the tinest of things.
> >

I’m thinking about it and I’m seriously agreeing with you right now. Would of been best if the comment as a whole wasn’t made, but it’s too late now.
When it comes to Reach “we will not do anything that will divide the community.” The TU “will allow us to add interesting functionality to MM.”
Ever considered when he said “one of the best shooters out there” he meant “It’s the one of the best because it’ll let us MAKE the best FPS”?
He could’ve meant so many things with that comment that’s it’s stupid to think it’s the end of the world because he might actually gasp! like Reach. Seriously, you guys are ALL overreacting and it’s probably hurting YOU guys more than anything.
This thread needs to be purged. Not just locked. Purged.
343 Industries needs to come out with all of their current plans for the Title Update ASAP to avoid further speculation, over-reaction, and general meltdown.
Frankie needs to watch his words a little more. If he’s going to divulge ANY information at all about the Title Update, it better not be vague, hard-to-interpret personal opinion that will set the community on fire. The little tidbits in the Bulletins are good because while they’re sparse, they’re facts. What Frankie posted was “We won’t fix Reach” and “We don’t think it needs fixing”, without backing the opinion up, and without providing any details on what they plan to do instead. He created negative sentiment without any positive…And Frankie?
You absolutely, positively, CANNOT DO THAT.
If you’re going to say something that will make the community explode, you have to also say something that will calm them down. This was one of Bungie’s biggest mistakes, and it looks like you’re not learning from them so far.
And again I say…
Can someone PLEASE put this thread out of its misery?

Frankie also did call almost the entire Halo Community stupid…

I’m probably part of the reason it needs to go, but you’re right. For the sake of the community, this thread needs to go and any that pops up needs to be deleted the moment it pops up.

But yes indeed. This thread is full of ideas that shall never happen.

facepalm More of the glorious community misreading a comment.
I’m talking about people posting about Frankie’s comment. If the things in here can be disscused without talking about Frankie’s comment then go for it. Otherwise it all needs to go until people calm down.
LOL, gotta love the Halo communities craziness keeps things interesting =)
I knew all along the TU was mostly going to be for the classic portion of HCEA multiplayer, I was not expecting much too change with Reach but anything that does improve with Reach will be a bonus. Reach isnt broken, but it could definitely use some fixes.
Don’t you love when the community takes speculation and just RUNS AS FAR AS IT CAN with it?
Frankie’s post to the uprising is just proof that people need to take a god--Yoink!- chill pill, and just give 343 a chance! Believe them when they say their listening, but just because the complainers are louder than the people who are happy, that doesn’t mean 343 is ONLY going to listen to the complainers. Some of you guys don’t realize that 343 can’t change the ENTIRE game in TU.
Reach, for the most part, is a good game. It just has a lot of little problems with it that make the game less desirable. 343 plans on fixing those problems.
Besides, Frankie already said the TU won’t be able to make everyone ecstatic (go to around 4:27):
The TU was intended from the start to be a “matchmaking update”. We can expect some new, fun things as well to make us all happy… But it was never intended to “change Halo: Reach multiplayer completely.”
Pissed me off because Time Glitch seems to be the only other person that knows what’s up. -_-
> Only because he put his foot in it and needed to clear things up.
Of course. I was worried that Reach would be toned down completely just to please the whiners only to cause an uproar for people who love Reach the way it is. But after reading Frankie’s response on the B.net forums, I am relieved that won’t happen and I’m looking forward for the TU.
BS Angel gets to keep all of those hugs and kisses you guys sent her when you all heard about the TU and instantly speculated about the very things you’re blaming 343i for “teasing” us with and have since become crossed about.
To Coca Mola above, I didn’t put my foot in my mouth - I was cross-posted from another forum with no context for the discussion. I was replying there, as I would here, to. Reach fan who was worried that the TU would eliminate the elements of Reach that he liked. It won’t. The TU will allow ‘classic’ gameplay to be played side by side with TU stuff
