Title Update Discussion

I was only comparing Reach to 3 because it’s technologies, innovations, and ideas are leaps and bounds ahead of it, compared to 2, and CE, Reach is miles ahead.

Or were you perhaps talking about Reach’s gameplay compared to CE? Look, I love CE as much as next guy, but Halo just is not pistol touting Spartans three shotting people in one second flat all damn day on BloodGulch, Prisoner, and Beaver Creek. It was when CE came out! But it isn’t now.

To go back to CE is devolving our combat. CE evolved combat, 2 evolved it further, then 3, and Reach hit it RIGHT on forehead, just a couple inches shy of middle if you get my analogy, which is exactly why a TU is being made.

The game is stale I agree.

Even if you are doing great skill wise nothing keeps me playing several full games of Reach. Armor lock and getting elite slayer is really annoying IMO. The Bloom is disgustingly bad against spammers also.

Folks, sprinkles can not fix that.

If the creators can not fix that for Halo4 then we are screwed.

Reach alienated much of the hardcore player base because it was so different, but now nearly a year after, many Haloans have grown accustomed to what Reach is. To change the whole entire experience again, alienating all the players once more? That’d be a severe mistake and be the end of Reach.

All the stuff all the Classic wanters wanted in game that we couldn’t do with current assests will be able to be done in the Classic playlists, and many of these options will benefit the game in whole also. But outside of those special playlists, we’ll have the traditional Reach experience.

That is a scary thought. :frowning:

> Good. I’ll be away doing better things with my time. Let the kiddies have the gimmick-laced shitfuck of a franchise this is rapidly devolving into. I’ll go break out my N64 and play Mario Kart. You can better have much better competitive games on that than you can on Reach anyway.

Oh so my opinion is wrong because you have a differing opinion… Right.

Then fine, leave! No one is making you play or visit the forums. The game’s going to continue to innovate. The franchise is going to go on to sell millions upon millions more copies. It’s going to be loved by millions of people.

I’m not even sure if I’ll enjoy Halo 4 yet with no information out about it. I might hate it. But at least they’re trying something new!

See, I’m totally fine with people criticizing the game… AS LONG AS IT’S CONSTRUCTIVE AND INTELLIGENT. I’m a huge critic as well of even my most favorite games.

Then there are posters like you who absolutely hate EVERY change that will ever happen to the game. Any slight change of game mechanics will be viewed extremely negatively, regardless of what it is. Literally anything they add will be a “bad” thing.

Maybe you should try out Call of Duty, and I’m being serious here and not sarcastic. They make little to no changes to their games and pump one out every year. You literally have nothing to worry about with them, except for shelling out hundreds of dollars for the games and DLC. That’s it.

Okay, OP. You had a point, but with your title change, it is now trolling.

Everyone on both sides needs to stop freaking out.

  • If you don’t like Reach, you can either hold out hope for Halo 4 having a section that caters to you, or you can go play something else. Done.

  • If you do like Reach, please understand that there are those who still want to play new Halo games, and not deal with things they feel “aren’t Halo”. “Go Play Halo 3!” is not a valid argument, nor is it a good solution.

If 343 does it right in Reach and Halo 4, we will see a whole new set of innovations and features in Halo 4 alongside a more classic experience that caters to the old-school Halo fans.

Not trolling. This came from Frankie. I know we are screwed now for all future Halo games. He has the final say.

I probably should not have said creators but instead I should have said FRANKIE.

Yes.

What you’re saying is: WHAT HOW CAN A DEVELOPER WHO HAS ANY RESPECT OR LIKE FOR HALO MAKE A HALO GAME.

> I will say this once for the record and once only. The TU is not designed to ‘fix’ or improve the game. The game as it stands is one of the best FPS games ever made. We are not arrogant or stupid enough to think it needs ‘fixing.’ The TU will add interesting and fun functionality that folks like you have requested. We will not harm or remove any of the core existing functionality of Reach because it is pretty damned amazing. We will however make it possible to play it differently in certain playlists. In ways big and small. And there will be sprinkles.

thanks for that.

now I know not to buy Halo 1 anniversary! =/

There is no chance that that is a 343i member. But if that is true then…

And thus my favorite game series of all time died a horrible, horrible death.

R.I.P. Halo. You provided a very entertaining 9 Years.

Ah, bs angel please clear this up or somone.

OuterWorldVoice=Frank’o’Connor.

It cant be. Where does it say this that hes Frank.

It doesn’t say on HBO, but everyone else says so, even on B.net, so everyone else can’t be wrong. He’s made posts on there before.

> I just don’t get what 343i are trying to accomplish, it better not be just some custom game options. Or just a better Classic Playlist. I think i speak for a lot of people when i say…

He could be lying about it…I mean this guy probably could be saying he is Frank O conner when he isnt.

Guys guys relax,

I’ll admit at first i kinda freaked out because im someone who is good at Reach but doesn’t like it’s default MM experience very much at all and would love to see a classic style of gameplay return for Halo 4…

But he did say they’re adding functionality into other playlists to make them different for us people who are clammoring for something other than the way Reach plays right now.

It would be stupid to further alienate the people that stick with Reach because they enjoy it, he’s essentially saying (I think) that they’re going to make a whole seperate game experience for the people that dislike Reach’s current offering, but still keep what some people for the last year have enjoyed.

This is the truth.

Everyone needs to calm the heck down and stop posting “IM QUITTING HALOZ 4 EVOR!” and “FAIL! 343 FAIL! HALO R RUIN’D!”

What are we, Bnet? This is Waypoint. We don’t act like that.

That’s what I’ve tried to say.
