Unfortunately it seems that if this is true, we all need to accept that a game like Halo Reach will remain popular for people who can’t compete with the (for lack of a better word) more skilled players.
We all know that Reach was the first in the Halo franchise to add randomness and luck into an FPS. This naturally gives the lesser player a good chance to do just as well as the better players.
This outlook appeals to many. I understand this.
We can’t make 343i revert back to what the majority loved.
> > I must say, you are certainly jumping the gun before knowing whether you’ll be satisfied by the update or not.

> Sure the update will make some great playlists. But who wants someone making Halo4 that believes Halo Reach is the best FPS out there?
Maybe he meant its best in that it can be adapted into more. Just look at Action Sack. If what I believe the TU will bring does happen, it will certainly be a marvel of it kind. Plus, he didn’t say it was the best, but one of the best.
who is OuterWorldVoice and if this is true then im not suprised. all that talk about bloom being removed was wishful thinking. what is interesting however is he mentioned they will be addding functionality so i am guessing a new playlist. i hope this isnt true because reach sucks and the sooner 343 realise it the better. what if halo 4 will be similar to 'one of the best fps ever mad ’ nooo the horror
Everyone is being super dim witted right now, here, let me clear this up.
343i is going to leave the core experience alone. Those who like Reach for what it is right now will still be able to like Reach for what it is. 343i is going to make a bunch of options, and have playlists that are NOT akin to what Reach is right now.
343i is being much smarter than Bungie already. Reach alienated much of the hardcore player base because it was so different, but now nearly a year after, many Haloans have grown accustomed to what Reach is. To change the whole entire experience again, alienating all the players once more? That’d be a severe mistake and be the end of Reach.
THINK: OPTIONS, OPTIONS, OPTIONS. All the stuff all the Classic wanters wanted in game that we couldn’t do with current assests will be able to be done in the Classic playlists, and many of these options will benefit the game in whole also. But outside of those special playlists, we’ll have the traditional Reach experience.
Everyone who is reacting negatively is jumping the gun big time and not thinking this.

> I’m more than a little worried for Halo 4 now, but if the classic update really does fix up Reach’s gameplay in the Classic section, then maybe we’ll see Halo 4 do something similar, with a “Core” and “Classic” division.
Then leave the game or play older ones. Plain and simple. The direction the game is going obviously doesn’t fit well with your definition of what “Halo” is. They’re going to continue to add new features and improve on the ones that were introduced in this game. More Armor Abilities, more weapons, more vehicles, more of everything.
It’s highly likely they’ll be introducing weapons/vehicle customization as well. Possibly even a perk system or adding actual gameplay changing armor.
The gameplay was stale, period. It was old. It’s going to continue to evolve and change. There’s no way to stop it.
The Title Update will make small tweaks to the gameplay. Not a single thing in the game is completely broken. With a few small tweaks, many, if not all of the gameplay mechanics will be fixed and working optimally.
Shorten Armor Lock’s duration to 2 seconds and make it have a single use per charge. Instantly fixed.
Bloom works in all situations except for close range DMR. Make the DMR’s bloom like the Needle Rifle’s. Instantly fixed.
The Banshee can only do 2 rolls/flips per charge. Instantly fixed.
I’m glad 343i’s isn’t going to be making huge changes. The gameplay is fun. It works for millions of people.
343i’s will make the game even more different than Halo: Reach. With what was said about the Title Update, I’m 100% confident Halo 4 won’t be some crap Halo 3 rip off. And I can’t wait to see what else they bring to the table at Halofest.

They ask for feedback and in return say they will drop sprinkles on the playlists. Think about the long term. We have creators making Halo4 that state Reach is one of the best FPS out there.
Sprinkles? Maybe you should stop and consider that our Classic Playlist is just a few sprinkles shy of being a true Classic experience through and through anyway.
Nerf grenade damage a bit, tone down bloom…TONE IT DOWN. Make the anti-material sniper back to an anti-personnel as well as the DMR…whoah hey. Perfect experience right here.
Now of course their going to do more than THAT.
But Halo Reach is damn right the best Halo there is…I really hope I don’t have to list every reason that put this game leaps and bounds beyond Halo 3 even. I mean, if you really need a reality check, sure!

Oh silly me, I forgot Halo 3 is the only other Halo game to ever exist.
