Another reason why bloom sucks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pd4syenDuSc&feature=player_embedded
It’s a split-screen TU? Oh, I thought it was for full-screen too. Actually, I thought it was the for the whole game.
Silly me.
Oh, and what’s an “essage” ?
> Another reason why bloom sucks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pd4syenDuSc&feature=player_embedded
Great clip. Show that to any absent minded (OK, I don’t really mean that) bloom supporter. Actually go ahead and show that to Sage Merrill and Josh Hamrick to see how they feel about the game they created.
There’s been a thread about this already, but it only shows that this bothers many people. Whenever I’m over a friend’s house when we have 3 to a TV this problem is so annoying.
You should not see “Kreutz III(1) killed Kreutz III(2) with a headshot” appear on your screen. It’s that simple. This almost reaches your reticule if you’re the third player on the TV and gets in your peripheral vision.
They’ll say that he takes the game too seriously and NEEDS TO LOOSEN UP MAN.
343i, will the title update include trueskill? I’m not a bad player, but I’m not too good either. Either way, there’s absolutely no excuse for the system matching me (in a party of 2) against a team of 4 consisting of Announcers, CooooooooP, Yours Truly, and some other guy.
> It would just feel wierd to have high jumps and fast run speed since you’re playing as a spartan III, but as elites, I’m all in.
Multiplayer isn’t really part of the canon anyway so it doesn’t really matter.
> > CE did not have the fastest running speed of the series, it just feels that way because the acceleration speed is very quick in CE. By this, I mean that in Reach (and Halo 3), it takes a very long time to go from idle movement to full speed, whereas in Halo 1 and 2, you accelerate to full speed almost instantly when you move your joystick. The same thing happens when you decelerate.
> >
> > This is something that should be taken into consideration when developing Halo games. When you have fast character acceleration and deceleration, it adds much more depth to gameplay by adding a skill to master; strafing. In Halo 3 and Reach, strafing is pretty much useless since it takes about a year to accelerate and decelerate. In Halo 1 and 2, out-strafing opponents was a huge part of gameplay. This is just one of the many ways Halo has been progressivley dumbed down.
> >
> > Other than that, you forgot to mention aim acceleration (not aim assist, they’re two different things). Joystick responsivness is crucial to movement fluidity. Reach and Halo 3 has very bad movement fluidity because our joysticks don’t respond very well. This is something that should be looked at for the Reach title update and Halo 4.
>
> Yes strafe acceleration and aim acceleration are important. And strafing in DMR fights at anything beyond close range is almost useless in Reach.
I miss the quick strafing of Halo CE. If you could strafe well + have an excellent aim with the Pistol you were tough to beat. Man, I miss that skilled game.
Now we’re stuck with a game that has incredible bullet magnetism for the nublets. For some reason the hyperlink won’t show up, watch this clip: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=18816796&player=SkyFighta65

But you don’t get bigger in campaign do you? As i said, try to play classic in MM and you will see why it’s not a good idea.
Thank you 3 Legged Goat for this.
[Certainly not, and yes, we will have different stuff in different playlists.
I will say this once for the record and once only. The TU is not designed to ‘fix’ or improve the game. The game as it stands is one of the best FPS games ever made. We are not arrogant or stupid enough to think it needs ‘fixing.’ The TU will add interesting and fun functionality that folks like you have requested. We will not harm or remove any of the core existing functionality of Reach because it is pretty -Yoink!- amazing. We will however make it possible to play it differently in certain playlists. In ways big and small. And there will be sprinkles.](http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=29346185&postcount=687)
This game won’t be fixed. We all just get clown shoes. Yay. I love inevitable disappointment in the morning.
Ahem

> This isn’t necesarily bad, since he’s basically saying “More options, but we aren’t removing Armor lock or bloom from the game.” Hopefully we can still toggle bloom an whatnot, but I don’t think it sounds as severe as it may appear. Still don’t know what he meant about how its one of the best FPS games ever made, but that may be so he doesn’t like a Reach basher.
Like I thought, we’re probably only getting new options for custom games so they can create a more accurate Team Classic.
Are you kidding? Not making “fixes” yet allowing more options so the “fixes” can be possible? Best idea since splitting the last Potter book into two movies.
inb4Potternerd, which I’m not.
Options are good, choice is good. I’m glad it looks as if 343 made/is making the best possible decision in this sticky situation. Giving long time Halo fans more options to cater the Reach experience more toward what they want and are accustomed to while not altering or killing the gameplay that some people do somehow(This is pretty mean I will admit) seem to enjoy with what the game already offers.
I just hope you don’t shortcut us on the options. Go all out.
The title update will be fixing the game. I will play the playlists they fix only. Enough said.
With them saying Reach is one of the best FPS games, I’m suddenly worried of 343 having Halo 4 in their hands.

They better make the the “classic” style playing a different -Yoinking!- game, that’s all i’m saying. You better make it so i can forget about the abomination that is Reach and actually have a place to play that doesn’t suck.
Hopefully this isn’t true. Although, the quote was rather ambiguous since you don’t know what considered can be core game play. This TU is basically to tell me if Halo 4 will be good or not. If they can’t even make a TU to the community’s liking, how will they make a game?

That is a little disheartening, yeah.
I think we should be more worried about that than with anything else in that post.
> We all now know Bungie are ignoring the communitys crys for the gameplay to be changed. I just hope when you’re “handed the keys”, you will see things differently.

> Refer to Page 109 for the new news!
I was expecting a super breakdown of the game.
I feel they will have two three classic playlist without bloom, AA, changed movements, weaker grenades, etc.
Only a few things I thought would be changed for all the playlist, And they would change a lot for Classic playlist.
Changes:
Weaker Grenades
Shorter AL
maybe decrease in times for AA
stronger vehicles
Adds:
Toggles-Bloom, Assassination, Fall Damage, Sword Block
