It would just feel wierd to have high jumps and fast run speed since you’re playing as a spartan III, but as elites, I’m all in.
> > OP, I like how your list calls Combat Evolved special because it lacked some things (bloom and armor abilities). Hate Reach much?

Well, it always made sense, but I just thought that it was a little more spiteful before you edited it. Before you edited it, it said something along the lines of “Combat Evolved was special because it didn’t have bloom, armor abilities, and had bleedthrough, etc.” Now that you’ve edited it to say that Anniversary must exclude bloom and armor abilities, it seems much more like you’re requesting that and much less like you’re suggesting that the lack of bloom and armor abilities made Combat Evolved special (which would be idiotic, seeing as we didn’t even think about any of these things until last year).
By the way, there’s already a much older, much longer thread that’s very similar to this. It admittedly doesn’t suggest the exact thing you are suggesting (which is that Reach be patched to be as close to as possible to Combat Evolved), but it’s in the same vein when it says that Anniversary should somehow feature some kind of multiplayer that’s as close as possible to Combat Evolved.

Do want.

This.
Reach was such a disappointment (random, slow and boring), but 343i can show their qualities with this TU, they must make Reach more like the real Halos; no bloom, melee bleedthough, no AAs, fast moving speed high jump heigh.
The Reach kids already got what they want and they’re getting more maps, so 343i, you can make us old halo vets happy too.
Yes but no fall damge rember that in this no fall damage. reach over did that alot.
-
No bloom at all take it out
-
Halo 3 melees
-
Ranking system 1-50
-
Make grenade fuse time to be longer
-
Custome weapon traits
So… What does Classic mean to YOU?
I don’t know about classic, but considering this is a Halo 1 remake, shouldn’t the gameplay be like that of Halo 1’s…?
I would agree with that statement.
Yes classic means different things but this is Halo CE classic hence Halo CE Anniversary.
a new classic playlist for me would be:
Weaker grenades
no fall damage
faster player movement
higher jump
BR
thats classic for me
CEs MP was horrible for me, the campaign was awesome.
> > > Reach is actually the 2nd fastest Halo, only behind Halo 2. You move faster and jump higher in Reach than in CE, 3 or ODST. It just doesn’t feel that way to at times because Reach has a more weighted, “heavy” feel, whereas the earlier Halo games were very “floaty”.

> No, Reach is the second fastest. You can cover more ground in less time than any of the other Halos except Halo 2, even without Sprint.
>
> You jump higher. In the older Halos, your feet will barely clear the top of the Warthog in a straight jump; in Reach your feet clear the barrels of the gun. The Warthog has not changed size in any of the Halos. (Though the turret has changed designs)
>
> Have you even tried? You can move weapons fairly far with Grenades; it just has to actually be near the weapon, and it won’t going flying as far as it used. Its not Halo 2 where you could knock a Sniper Rifle across the map.
>
> It is the visual representation of spread and where the bullets would go. If I were to go back to CE, or 3 and make and adjustable reticule to account for the bloom on various weapons in those games, it would look a great deal like it does in Reach.
>
> Melee in Reach is more powerful than any other Halo (except for Halo 3 pre-patch) In the older Halos it took 3 standing melees, 2 jumping melees or 1 back-smack to kill someone. In Reach it takes 2 or 1, depending.
YOU ARE WRONG!
- Your feet just clear the Warthog Turret standing-platform with default jump height
- You are the slowest of any MM Halo game in Reach, which is shown by the fact that it takes much longer to cross Ascension or Hemmorhage than in Halo 2 or 1.
- You can weapon-nade, fair enough, but nowhere near as effectively as CE, and you couldn’t do so in Halo 2 without the help of fusion coils.
- SPREAD =/= BLOOM!!! Spread is as if you suddenly stopped the reticule moving. The bullets would go all over the reticule, but they would not go further out the faster you fired. Bloom is spread that grows the faster you shoot.
- Melee in Reach is weaker than Halo 3. In Reach it only removes your shields, in Halo 3 it removed all shields plus about 10% of your health.

Cough replace Halo Reach with pre-patch Halo 2 cough
You also forgot no aim-assist, no bullet magnetism, no DMR, and several other things, I want them to make as close to the “Exactly what CE used to be” as the possibly can.

Hopefully there will be a H2 remake with multiplayer, but for now we’re talking CE multiplayer.
CE did not have the fastest running speed of the series, it just feels that way because the acceleration speed is very quick in CE. By this, I mean that in Reach (and Halo 3), it takes a very long time to go from idle movement to full speed, whereas in Halo 1 and 2, you accelerate to full speed almost instantly when you move your joystick. The same thing happens when you decelerate.
This is something that should be taken into consideration when developing Halo games. When you have fast character acceleration and deceleration, it adds much more depth to gameplay by adding a skill to master; strafing. In Halo 3 and Reach, strafing is pretty much useless since it takes about a year to accelerate and decelerate. In Halo 1 and 2, out-strafing opponents was a huge part of gameplay. This is just one of the many ways Halo has been progressivley dumbed down.
Other than that, you forgot to mention aim acceleration (not aim assist, they’re two different things). Joystick responsivness is crucial to movement fluidity. Reach and Halo 3 has very bad movement fluidity because our joysticks don’t respond very well. This is something that should be looked at for the Reach title update and Halo 4.

Yes strafe acceleration and aim acceleration are important. And strafing in DMR fights at anything beyond close range is almost useless in Reach.

Remove DMR bloom! Please!!!
-
Adjust melees.
-
1-50 rank system h2 style where it’s actually a challenge for a lot of players.
Bloom needs to go it doesn’t belong in halo.
This game is way to broken to be fixed with any title update. 343i just needs to listen to the veterans and keep AA’s and bloom out of Halo 4.
theres nothin worse thsan playin at least 3 player splitscreen and kill messages cover the small screens, this is a must for the TU
