hey are spartans and elites going to fight on the same side in multi-player

Bring back the Halo 2 ELO 1-50 with the gameplay of Combat Evolved on the Reach engine and you have quite possibly the best online game ever.

This.

Reach is actually the 2nd fastest Halo, only behind Halo 2. You move faster and jump higher in Reach than in CE, 3 or ODST. It just doesn’t feel that way to at times because Reach has a more weighted, “heavy” feel, whereas the earlier Halo games were very “floaty”.

Power weapons can still be moved a good deal by grenades; they just don’t sent flying across the map by a single explosion anymore.

Bloom has been in every Halo game; you just couldn’t see it. Reach is the first Halo game where you can actually see it, and where it affects the precision weapons is a noticable way, as the BR was never truly affected by it in the past.

There is no bleedthrough in Reach. What I think you meant is “3 hit kill melee”, which is what CE and 2 had.

I hate to say it, but it’s not going to happen. They have already implemented a classic playlist into Halo Reach’s multiplayer system and Frank O’Connor already mentioned that the 7 maps coming with CEA were made for Halo Reach.
With a Classic playlist in already and the new CEA maps going into Reach, I do not see them putting more work into another classic playlist. Especially when the current playlist population is so small.

Actually Reach has the slowest default movement speed
you jump about as high as you do in CE
Weapon nading has been non-existent since halo CE…period
Reticule bloom is not the same thing as bullet spread
Melee is limited in reach and i’m not sure why they never replicated the halo 2 melee system for halo 3/reach.

etc

No, Reach is the second fastest. You can cover more ground in less time than any of the other Halos except Halo 2, even without Sprint.

You jump higher. In the older Halos, your feet will barely clear the top of the Warthog in a straight jump; in Reach your feet clear the barrels of the gun. The Warthog has not changed size in any of the Halos. (Though the turret has changed designs)

Have you even tried? You can move weapons fairly far with Grenades; it just has to actually be near the weapon, and it won’t going flying as far as it used. Its not Halo 2 where you could knock a Sniper Rifle across the map.

It is the visual representation of spread and where the bullets would go. If I were to go back to CE, or 3 and make and adjustable reticule to account for the bloom on various weapons in those games, it would look a great deal like it does in Reach.

Melee in Reach is more powerful than any other Halo (except for Halo 3 pre-patch) In the older Halos it took 3 standing melees, 2 jumping melees or 1 back-smack to kill someone. In Reach it takes 2 or 1, depending.

There just might be too many versions of Halo out there for there to be a “Classic” playlist.

For instance, when I think of Classic, I think of Fall Damage, 3sk pistols, no AA’s.

Someone else thinks of NR starts, No fall damage, increased run speed.

Someone else thinks of DMR’s, Weaker nades, and GASP, Duel Wielding.

What’s Classic? Ask a hundred Halo Players, get literally 100 answers.

I realize you guys hate Reach, but at some point you gotta just play the game you want to play and stop whining about the latest iteration.

Cause here’s a news flash… Not everyone enjoyed what you enjoyed about the previous games. My whining about no fall damage in H2 and H3 didn’t get me fall damage in those games.

Welcome to Halo: Reach, like it, or leave it.

It´s a different situation. I could live with only some small things that I hate like AA´s but Reach consist of so many things I hate that I want to leave Halo. But I won´t leave, not because of one fault by Bungie. You have to understand that now is the chance for us to change Halo the way we knew it and so we can have fun again while playing it.

I’m pretty sure sage mentioned several times in several vidocs how they lowered the movement speed to account for armor abilities. That and it’s pretty obvious the game moves slower then the others.

In halo 2/3 it was no problem to clear a warthog or even the wraith so that’s false.

You could not in any way nade weapons in halo 2, in fact if I remember correctly halo CE is the only game with true weapon nading. The only times you knocked a sniper across the map in Halo 2 was on lockout using the fusion cores. (don’t quote me on that because my memory is a bit fuzzy on the weapon nading thing)

The funny thing about bloom is that reticules didn’t expand in any halo game other than reach, so nothing more needs to be said there.

Melees in Reach are done poorly and needs a change

But keep in mind Halo CEA will have its own portion of MM because it doesn’t ship with Reach’s maps and therefore those who purchase it and don’t have Reach won’t be able to play mainstream Reach MM. I expect at least a few playlists devoted to CEA. It’s even been confirmed Reach and CEA will have separate multiplayers within Reach MM.

Bungie says a lot of things. Most of them don’t turn out to be true. Or at least half-true. Halo 3 Trip Mines anyone?

You could clear it, but not by much. In Reach your vertical is significantly higher; things that would’ve required a crouch jump in older Halos no longer do. It would suck to have to play on say, Tempest or Anchor 9 with the Halo CE or 3 jump height, since many of the rocks and ledges would be unreachable.

Weapon nading works. Just because you can’t launch the thing 40 feet doesn’t mean its broken.

So because you can’t see it, its not there?

sorry brah but H3 had much higher jumping and faster running than Reach. Also, you’re confusing bullet spread with bloom. The BR didn’t become less accurate the faster it was fired (bloom), it had consistent non perfect accuracy (bullet spread). And I that was a typo on no bleedthrough I’ll fix it.

The BR was the only weapon exempt from the rule from the older games. Even the Halo CE pistol had bloom (but only if you tried to fire it automatically of well above the intended firing rate). The automatic weapons and the Carbine all had bloom.

So we should settle for a clearly sub par game? A desire for improvement is how we evolved from cavemen into Halo players.
Also, no one thinks of classic gameplay involving DMRs or NRs. That’s why no one plays classic playlist. It’s not classic. And we’re not talking about general classic gameplay, we’re talking CE gameplay. You’re making it way too complicated. CE gameplay is 3sk pistol, fall damage, fast movement and high jumping, etc.

In all seriousness paragon you really are confusing Reticule bloom with bullet spread.

Understand that what I am about to say is 100% true/irrefutable/etc

Until Halo Reach NO halo game has any kind of reticule bloom what so ever, None, Nadda, Zip,Zilch.

However all halo games have had BULLET SPREAD which is not the same and for some reason you seem to think = bloom.

YESS!!! I would be so damn happy, hell i’d fork over $200 for a game like this hahaha

There is really only one classic Halo game, and thats Halo CE. After that Bungie dumbed it down and added a string of endless gimmicks that did nothing but cheapen gameplay and following suit Reach was made into a casual mess that rivals CoD in gimmicks and cheap gameplay.

Yeah I’m hyfi for this. If they do it right I seriously will play no other game until H4.
