> Let’s hope that when 343 does their game they won’t be following Reach standards, sure keep the Armory and Assassinations but not the gaemplay…the only place for AA’s is in FF/Invasion or BTB
This actually sums up what I want if Armor Lock is not removed/nerfed. It should be put into playlists where they are not too detrimental to gameplay.
Please 343…please make Halo Reach have faster gameplay! Reach is just too slow right now, and it leads to excessive spamming and boring, boring gameplay in the long run.

All of you have fallen into the classic trap of game forumers. All of you believe that these issues are held by everyone (or at least the majority) of Reach players, because everyone on the forums agrees with you. However, you must remember there is a chance (and it is more than likely) that all of you are the vocal minority, when in fact these “issues” are not held by the silent majority.
Why should the game cater to your needs? Shouldn’t you have to adapt your skills to the game?
Also, when is 343i going to get Reach? Everything that Bungie has stated is that they will be overseeing their baby for the foreseeable future…
> These forums are already starting to look like Bungie.net. Please fix the game. Make it the way I want. Change it so competitive players can be better.

True, but there are some consistent themes that continually come up, so clearly there are certain things that the majority of people want changed. For instance most people acknowledge that AL is too good in certain situations - especially when compared to a rival AA like hologram.
Not to mention there are some outright glitches with Halo that nobody wants. For instance suiciding when you assassinate a player, having territorys referred to as “hills contested” when they aren’t hills and they aren’t being contested and having flag screw-ups if the host leaves when someone is holding a flag. Heck, betrayal double beatdowns in zombies were brought up on day of release and they still need attended to.
Before you look into gameplay balancing there really have to be some blatent flaws removed.
> > Man I hope they listen to its competitive community.
>
> Same here. They need to realize the competitive community knows what makes a balanced game, most casual players aren’t good enough to see the flaws with “gimmicks” and slow kill times. C’mon 343, fix this game.
> > Agreed. 343 can start greatly out of the gate if you guys take what the community has been saying and fix:

Been there…done that.
And your argument has no basis, due to the fact that this argument has been used a million times and been proven invalid.
You can adapt to a broken window that lets in the cold and freezes your family…but the window is still broken.

Even if you don’t see a problem with Armour lock, bloom, melee etc there are still glitches that need to be fixed. Example: Infection Betrayal Glitch, Gauss hog shooting through Forge object, Random Territory Order Glitch (I don’t know about this, someone told me it was an issue).
In my opinion Reach needs a giant Halo 2 update, but these are the facts why it needs an update, with many more that could be told by the trolls and idiots on the Bungie.net forum.
> I have faith in 343. Reading all this stuff that is being made by them (The Map Pack (yes I know, it was made BOTH 343 and CA), the title update, and most likely remake of CE) gives me a…right feeling. Hopefully as posted above, they will listen to the competitive community, and hopefully look at Halo 2 for ideas for multiplayer.
I’d rather them look to Combat Evolved and Halo 2, with a splish-splash of Halo 3. Reach… the Armor.
> No. What we, have is the competitive gene. We want a halo experience that isn’t biased or baed off a luck factor. Just like previous editons. Innovations are good. But you need to keep the core of the game. Halo Reach looses this. It’s not a competitive and highly annoying for the hard-core community.
>
> There needs to be a skill gap element. It needs to be consistant in weapons. Bloom should be to punish not create a coin toss situation.
> I believe a FPS such as halo which has a highly competitive reputation should be 100% accuracy wins. Not a luck factor of rate of fire.
>
> The point i am making is this, if your casual. The changes we wan’t regarding bloom, AL, melee. HELP the game. A weekend player wouldn’t even notice. We arn’t complainers we just see this game as a uncut dimond. It has the potential to be better than halo 2.
>
> So no im not complaining. I just want a fair game that is enjoyable. So i can regain that Halo magic and sit and play for 8+ Hours straight.
You sir, are a genius.
I completely agree, I havent seen many “good” players, and I consider myself one that have really embraced this game in the competitive aspect. It feels extremely off and it’s just not as fun to play as the other Halo’s have been. The DMR is so inconsistent it’s annoying, there’s too many inconsistencies for this game to be truly enjoyable from a competitive or hardcore standpoint.
The fact Bungie added evade, and energy swords along with other weapons that were never needed in The Arena, still needs to be fixed. The completely ruined Arena, and turned it into Team Slayer, if I wanted to play Team Slayer I would. All Arena is now is Slayer DMR’s with rating…
I feel that AL is a problem only when it is abused in smaller games. I feel it is fine the way it is as long as it has a limited use. Keep it for large scale combat like rnd3 Invasion and BTB. That will allow it to be utilized in less abusive ways. In smaller 4v4 games it should be removed or switched with another AA.
I don’t feel that bloom is as much of an issue, as opposed to some of the strange physics issues that have plagued the game, but I do see that there is validation in the points brought up. I don’t feel it should be removed but tweaked or changed , and most people will be able to adapt to the changes quickly enough.
Not a big fan of the DMR myself, but I’d wish Bungie would fix the Magnum so it can actually fill its role of Short-Medium range and not be outclassed by DMR spam. The bloom on the Magnum makes it almost useless where you unload about 5-8 clips into the body to drain the shields and then desperately try to eliminate the target with the last three before you have to reload and shoot a couple more times aiming at the head. Assuming by this point you aren’t gunned down by an automatic weapon or DMR/NR spam at close-mid range.
