I think that they said it would be realeased sometime in August.
AFTER 7/7 and probably before/around the same time as H:CEA.
These settings need to be introduced before H:CEA comes out so that the old maps work within reach’s multiplayer.

My guess is that it will release closer to PAX Prime which is HaloFest. Celebrating 10 years of Halo which is August 22nd. This will be a magnificent event and time to release the Reach Title Update to everyone since it is a giant celebration. With the amount of time from now till then, it seems they will be able to finalize the changes that they have decided to make to the game.
I cant wait… Thank you 343i for being Halo fans just as we are and seeing the greater potential that Halo: Reach can become.
Default Reach needs to be completely revamped across every single playlist. No splitting of certain settings or giving us toggle options. Remember the Halo 2 Title Update? I remember jumping into a game and testing our every single weapon and change and could not believe what they had done. It was amazing and made that game become the glory that it was known for for many years to come afterwards.
This is what I hope happens to Halo: Reach. None of this certain playlists with a completely different feel stuff. It all needs to be the same. Classic must have no AA’s but the TU will make it play amazing. Regular playlists must have the new balanced AA’s within them a correct way.
Overall, I’m hesitant to embrace 343 Industries TU, they haven’t really proved much in terms of game development. It’s one thing to do half the work on a map pack, another thing entirely to change the game drastically.
I wonder how much work 343i would have to do for a 1-50 ranking system? Probably to overwhelming for Reach.

Arena season ratings are dumb. We need a mix between Halo2 and the Halo3 ranking system.

doesnt do very much? how about pairing LIKE-SKILLED PEOPLE AGAINST EACH OTHER. seems relevant for a ranking system to actually RANK people against their SKILL LEVELS.

with a VISIBILE ranking system, people will always exploit it. no one likes being anything other than a level 50, or the highest rank, so they will try their hardest to achieve this. when its obvious they cannot because they quite frankly arent good enough, they complain and say the ranking system is broken; or take other measures to cheat, or exploit the system to achieve what they which to achieve.
the reason people had such an easy time abusing the halo 2 matchmaking system was because it was a new concept that was incredibly unrefined.
this was apparent in halo 2, halo 3, AND halo reach.
-people boost arena rating in arena.
-people used to (and probably still do) AFK in matchmaking to farm cR.
in halo 3 there was de rankers, every once and awhile (except there was an equal chance they would land on the OTHER team), boosters that dont effect that many people, and new accounts that would climb the ranks and beat people who were lower skill level than them as they climbed thru the ranks.
are any of these downsides in the halo 3 matchmaking system good enough to make the trueskill formula so incredibly loose it DOESNT EVEN MATCH PEOPLE WHO ARE THE SAME SKILL LEVEL like in halo reach? absolutely not.
i’d rather have an INVISIBLE 1-50 rating system (100% invisible, across the board, you cant even see your rank on the website). with this, people will be paired against other people their skill level, and no one will feel the need to boost, or cheat, or exploit to achieve a rank that they cannot see.

for what gun? the bloom works well for the pistol, and the AR. pretty decent for the needle rifle.
its straight up TERRIBLE for the DMR. its literally not even remotely close to being properly implemented for the DMR. i’d bet money 343 tweaks the DMR with their title update.

You can facepalm all you want, but hackers did rule the 1-50 system in Halo 2. Nobody besides hackers ever made it to 50. There is a reason Bungie shut down their Halo 2 Leaderboards. Then, as we saw in Halo 3, people did make it to 50 without cheating. But all that did was encourage folks to make new accounts and proceed to trample on new players, which TruSkill would match them with. It got so bad, people were actually buying and selling accounts online.

I would love to see these things in the TU:
- Kill times shortened
- Movement/jump increased
- Bug/glitch fixes
- Armor Lock removed from Multiplayer completely (leave it in Campaign and Firefight only)
- Banshee fixed (let’s face it, the unlimited flips and short time between Fuel Rod shots is crazy)
- Melee effectiveness reduced (although this isn’t necessarily required in a TU, it would still be nice to have 3+ melees to kill be the default)
- Bloom fixed/removed. I’d almost rather just go with removed, honestly. But then you deal with the ability to cross map like nobody’s business. There needs to be a way to make short range DMR fights consistent with skill but also challenging from long range to promote map movement over big maps
I’m sure there are more but those are the first to come to mind.

I’m down with the movement and jump height, limiting the Banshee flips, but melee, Armor Lock, and Bloom will be difficult.
You can’t remove Armor Lock, Achievements are in place for it, but if it were drastically shortened in it’s use, that would be decent. Seems to be that Bloom and Melee will be in constant change though.

armor lock is blatantly overpowered at high levels of play.
people dont complain about getting headshotted with the sniper because USING THE SNIPER TAKES SKILL. anyone can press ONE SINGLE BUTTON for 6 seconds of invincibility. it literally could not take any less skill than it does. they literally dont even have to have more than 50% accuracy in a battle to be able to weaken the person they were against, then simply call in their teammate to mop up the kill.
lets say its a group battle. your team fires on one target like they should, while the other team does the same. the target your team was shooting, WHOOPS, has armor lock, effectively negating all of your efforts to kill him. he armor locks, then you are massively down in shots, and the player they went for is dead because he didnt have armor lock to get away. you just lost the encounter. they have more players, so they will win unless they epic choke. the problem with armor lock is compounded the more people on their team using it, especially when your team isnt using it themselves. are any other armor abilities like this? one. evade. thats it. aside from that, no other armor abilities would require you to straight up use them because they are so overpowered, or straight up LOSE.
what beats a team of 4 armor lockers who stick together and are mediocre at the game, and know a bit of teamwork? unless you can pick evade, there isnt a single combination of AA’s that will come even remotely close to combating that strategy.

ok so… you fight someone head on 1v1. he loses his shields, and you lose yours. he armor locks and calls out your position. you have 1 option: run away. thats it. cant counter it? what the hell counters armor lock? you literally cannot do ANYTHING but shoot the armor locker in the FACE with a SNIPER RIFLE to counter armor lock.
honestly, if you dont think its blatantly overpowered, you need to get educated by watching this video. it pretty much spells it out for you.

- Fix vehicle damage, make it like halo 3
- Fix overpowered grenades
- Make better/Creative maps; The maps on reach are so dull, what happened 343? halo 3 had great maps
- Fix Armer abilities
- Why did you get rid of the bubble shields???
- RANKED PLAYLISTS LIKE HALO 3 **<-------**I get matched up with stupid teamates
- Sword block fix…
- Mellee system fix…
- I never thought i’d see a noobtoob in halo =’(
- More creative forge world maps with objects, like Sandbox. The itiems on forge world are dull and all grey.
- idc much about the armer but I suggest more armer and more secret helmets like the haunted skull.
- Less power weapons on the maps.
- The quiting system, Whenever I play a match someone(s) quits 80% of the time.
- The super jackpot weekend is useless
- Bungie/343 you guys should make another type of armer like (recon) or flames and re add bungie favorites and people who get on the favorites get rewarded that type of product, to motovate people of forging maps, and getting more creativity with custom games
- File share; it has to be fixed. halo 3 had the fil share right. Also pictures. Pictures will never be the same like halo 3. Nobody ever looks at each others file share anymore because its broken, one must wait for pics to load… ect
- The arena, it has to be fixed
- Halo 3 equipment was great like the bubble shields
- Fix ranking system. Every match is the range of 1-3 thousand credits and halo 3 had it right.
- THEATER FIX only one person can watch a video?!?!!? and in the prevouse halo you could have 4. That makes no sence at all.
- Health pack/bar is useless.
