lulz using cover in a battle indeed increases already slower kill times…which…slows down…gameplay…even more.
this isn’t subjective. you thinking a multiweapon metagame is better, is, however.
Ya but I don’t understand how you would describe skill if you play a game by running around in the open bunny hopping while using your reflexes as your only true weapon.
But sure, if using cover to fire the DMR at its optimal accuracy slows down the game and is stupid, I must apologize.
Tis funny, thought this was Halo: Reach. I should be thinking like Halo3 at least.
Here is a link to an article about 343i, but mainly the video at the bottom, O’Connor mentions 343i has control of the “code” of Reach now while Bungie will still maintain “online stats.”
I could be reading too much into it, but the way he put it, is if there is a title update (and the way he was talking about listening to the community, there should be one) then it looks like it’ll come from Frankie and his boys and girls themselves.

Which is great news, considering Frankie has done nothing but good things for Halo.
I have faith in 343. Reading all this stuff that is being made by them (The Map Pack (yes I know, it was made BOTH 343 and CA), the title update, and most likely remake of CE) gives me a…right feeling. Hopefully as posted above, they will listen to the competitive community, and hopefully look at Halo 2 for ideas for multiplayer.
Thing is about this, It doesn’t really confirm anything. You can only speculate on what it exactly means. Dont get me wrong though, I’m cautiously optimistic .
I just want some actual confirmation from either Bungie or 343 since they both have been quite unclear on the subject.

I know, that’s the biggest lead we’ve got i’m afraid

I will still keep hope in Reach and in 343i. Many people have said they have yet to prove themselves. What I say is that they have yet given us any reason to doubt them.
Just before anyone says Reach doesn’t need a Title Update, please remember that tweaks to bloom and Armour Lock are not the only reasons for having one. In fact, there are several glitches in Reach’s game mechanics that have been addressed tirelessly again and again by the community, and that we would love to have fixed. Thanks.
For me they don’t even need to take bloom out, they just need to tweak it so that the spammers never win. Like make spammed shots not register or something along the lines of that.

Where did I imply faster kill times are wrong? I will agree that if you plan on engaging an enemy in a 5-shot DMR fight, yes it takes a while to kill the enemy. But if I use a powerweapon, teammate or another tactic to drop their shields first, the kill time is greatly reduced, if not instant.

Can you please stop posting links to that incredibly biased wiki? You’re not proving anything by doing it.
These forums are already starting to look like Bungie.net. Please fix the game. Make it the way I want. Change it so competitive players can be better.
Even if there is a title update it isn’t going to please everyone.
Around here, things are very hard to prove without support. TV-Tropes is not an authority in nerd pop. culture but it certainly is a great road-map.
I hope you scroll down through the examples and find the descriptions associated with Halo amongst the links just to see where Halo fits in amongst gamers and nerds and the community genre.
But don’t stop there, check out how other games fit in amongst the community as well.
The only reason I would suspect you feel the topics themselves are biased is because they usually go on to describe something negative within videogame/FPS standards and then shows how Halo has violated those standards.
What I like is that it takes the parts that you might say are competitive and balanced and actualys says that according to established genre rules and definitions, Halo is elitist and unbalanced. Or at least was.
Personally, that doesn’t take away from the fun I’ve had since CE.
