I wouldn’t call Halo: Reach a success at all. Right now, Reach is playing second fiddle to Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. Halo 2 and 3 were king throughout their runs.
There are logical reasons why Reach doesn’t have numbers that Halo 2 and 3 did and the two main reasons are 1) a lack of a solid ranking system and 2) substandard gameplay. You won’t EVER see Reach in its life time make it to Halo 2 and 3 numbers without a ranking system and a balanced battlefield.
Still things that have been discussed in this thread that could be included in a title update could out help out greatly.
