> Nope, only in H3+Reach is that true. In Halo CE+Halo 2 I could take on people 1v3 and win, and 1v2’s were common if you were a skilled player.
Actually I won a 1v3 in halo 3… but then again they only came at me in twos so it was actually 1v2 and yes those multiplayers were superior.

I’d like Armour lock to be a burst fire ability. Like Evade. It can be used 3 times before recharging and lasts for roughly 0.5 seconds per activation. Leading up to a total lock time of 1.5 seconds if it is repeatedely tapped.

Armor lock spam. We don’t like to turn a corner, melee, as a natural reaction, then get armor locked, they get out, and because you shields are down because armor locking in the middle of melee negates it and causes you to lose all shielding, and they melee you again without chance to run away.
I hope they make strafing more effective in the Title Update. Anyone remember how Chief used to strafe in CE? That was the best. Strafing in Reach is just too slow.
They made this game extremely easy for players with the auto-aim assist (like Halo 2’s) and the aim acceleration (of Halo 3). With these three things shooting is now easier than any other Halo.

its straight up PATHETIC that at the level of play where people using armor lock:
1.) stay next to their team
and
2.) has teammates who arent horrible
the very best thing you can do when you encounter someone using armor lock, regardless of how weak they are, is to straight up WALK AWAY.
armor lock would be FINE if it had a reasonable duration like 1-3 seconds long. armor lock literally does EVERY SINGLE THING it was intended to do with a 1 second duration, without being blatantly overpowered. it has a 6+ second long duration, making it EASILY the most RAGE INDUCING thing included in ANY HALO GAME hands down, bar none, not close.
it isnt 100 out of 1000 people who hate it, its over 50%. to say that only a handful, or the minority of people dislike armor lock is LAUGHABLE.
Dude, shud up! There is nothing wrong with Reach and also since Anniversary is coming our this fall and Halo 4 next year there is no point in updating Reach.

99 percent of people in this thead disagree with you.

You realize anniversary is using Reach MP?
thats the whole point…If Halo 4 was out this year, then yeah there wouldn’t be a point in updating Reach. But it’s out next year.

it did? what did it say, i read it and cant find this ‘hinting’.

if reach was tweaked to be better, why would you be against that? maybe you dont see the problems that reach has, but that certainly doesnt mean there arent problems.
the fact of the matter is, a lot of people are SEVERELY disappointed with reach as the 4th halo game. for me, and many others, its a massive disappointment because of a lot of the terrible mechanics in the game like
-bloom adding randomness (it does, if you think otherwise you are wrong.)
-armor lock being overpowered (it is, if you think otherwise you are wrong.)
-no bleed melees removing the viability of shooting from some close quarters combat situations seems horrible.
-grenades are mini nukes that explode almost instantly and have a huge blast radius.
As much as AAs and bloom take away from Halo, I think the long kill times with Reach are the main problem. Without a power weapon, there are far too many situations, especially with sprint, where multiple teammates are required to kill an enemy before they can escape. Make DMR 4 sk, AR 16 sk with higher rate of fire, NR 5 sk, pistol 4 sk, etc. This will make Reach have a much higher individual skill gap, as Reach currently values teamwork over skill, which is bad since the majority of people run MM solo/dont call out/go lone wolf, so any teamwork that does occur is accidental. But bloom and AAs have no place in Halo also.
> So, this is 60 + pages of people saying AAs and Bloom ruined reach… I hope 343 sees this and realizes how to fix reach.
Every single day I think about Reach and its flaws. Every single day I think about the most amazing perfection that Reach could be. I just can’t believe the community has had to wait for so long for anything to happen. It’s almost a lost hope that we all wish for every day. Quite depressing…
Well, I guess its almost time for us contributors at b.net to mozy on over and start contributing here…
I love AA’s and I think its what Halo has needed to complete its competitive style of play. AA’s not only accentuate playstyles they also can dictate roles in higher level gameplay. Someone who has camo is in charge of blocking radar while someone with AL is in charge of being the tank and baiting the rocket launcher guy… jet-packers and sprinters flank and slay etc etc…Don’t change the armor abilities.I DO think that bloom should be changed, if not removed. The DMR should be what I’ve heard the old rifles were supposed to be. One bullet while scoped and 3 while unscoped… this would allow for LONG shots like those found in Reach BTB and still allow for MLG style BR battles that feature both bloom and spread. This would reduce how effective the DMR is in mid-range (unscoped) and make it a little more effective at close ranges. The damage, bloom, and spread would all have to be perfectly balanced for this to work… maybe even add a mid-range scope where it shot 2 bullets… Anyway, just thought I’d make sure that I was heard when I say that AA’s are a nice addition to Halo but I would like to see them added as Power ups on the map since they can be so powerful. Not a REAL powerup but something like H3 equipment that would make a player/team want to control that part of the map. Regen on Valhalla = Amazing

So you want to change Halo into a class-based RPG?
Look, that’s not what Halo is. Halo has always been about “Everyone starts equal”. If they want to add a class-based mode, that’s great. Let them do that. But all we’re asking for is for them to keep our gameplay in-tact. That golden gameplay that made Halo 2 and Halo 3 so great. Halo Reach just -Yoink- all over that, and completely abandoned that straight style of gameplay.
Halo should go back to its roots (ie Halo CE/23 style.) Coming from a casual gamer Reach just doesn’t have that "Halo’ feeling that the other Halos had. While AA’s might’ve seemed like a good idea I feel they were implemented badly since some AA’s are near useless (Hologram) while others are so powerful they can actually kill (I’m looking at you AL…) Equipment seemed more balanced because you had to work for them making them basically act like powerups that you could use at will. 343 could just start everyone with sprint and make people work for the AAs creating more balanced gameplay. They aren’t my biggest issue with this game though.
Bloom is. It was a good idea but implementation was poor on the DMR, which is the main precision weapon in the game. Simply put I kill more by spamming with the DMR then by pacing. An easy solution to this problem is make DMR bloom like the magnum bloom-punishes spammers at any range>10 feet. Some people might complain that “Kill-times will be too long” but another very simple solution is to buff the DMR and magnum to a 4 shot with the NR becoming a five shot (this is achieved by using original classic settings at 120% damage) though you’ll have to find a way to stop frags from being a one shot kill.
If these things were implemented Reach would be good for the competitive players with more balance while at the same time good for the casual gamer because increased kill times=increased fun. Why do you think games like COD are so popular?
