I know I wont. But either way, 343i doesn’t care about a few fans leaving. No game developer has and that’s why it’s always being catered to casual gamers now a days, not true fans.

Eh, I know I can wait at least. And even if people can’t they’ll just wait till Halo 4.

So, I want to compile a community list of desired fixes for Halo: Reach from 343. Also, feel free to dispute anything I add.

±-Weapon Fixes–+

  • Reduce Grenade blast Radius.

-Make bloom reset quicker with all weapons.

-Increase Magnum Clip size.

±-Options–+

-The ability to turn Bloom off either as a game setting or a personal setting.

±-Playlist Changes–+

-Increase movement speed and Jump Height to match classic Halo Gameplay

  • A more proper “Ranked” playlist.

-Make AAs Pickups in some playlists, removing them completely from some.

±-Maps–+

-Open the doors on countdown all the way

-Make Break room, operations, and Shotgun windows inaccessible in Sword Base

±-Gameplay fixes–+

-Add cooldown to melee after sprinting or Evading

-Make kill times faster

-Make Vehicles more resilient to the DMR

-Remove Sword block

-Make “Spamming” Precision weapons less effective.

-Add bleed through melees

-Reduce the maximum time of Armor lock

-Reduce Bubbleshield Damage before it pops

-Make it so reticule turns red on Hologram

-Remove Radar Jamming from invisible

-Add Stopping power to sprint, disabling the ability to sprint directly after being shot mid-sprint.

-Increase time between melees.

To Stop having people continually try to turn Halo: Reach into a Halo 3/ Halo 2 Remake. Where all you needed was the Battle Rifle for every situation.

Aside from that. The Blast Radius of Frag Grenades need to be reduced. It’s the main reason people use Armor Lock so much.

Well, Like I said before, we want a game that at least resembles Halo’s Gameplay. If you took away spartans, Iconic vehicles and enemies, the Title, and took away the needler and plasma grenades, you wouldn’t be able to recognize it as Halo gameplay at all.

Anyway, added to the list.

I want 1-50 rankings back. Levels were a great hook for my friends and I to continue playing.

I think bloom needs to be adjusted on the DMR, its pacing is a little to slow.
Also there needs to be an option to turn off bloom.
I think they should add more options for damage/health/gravity/etc modifiers. Perhaps a scroller type thing?

I think the new maps coming with CEA will be a great addition to improve competitive play.
The maps in Halo Reach are horribly designed… no offense to the creators.
The abundance of community maps in all matchmaking playlists really bothers me, I can’t keep them all straight.

I won’t say remove armor lock, but I have to say its quite frustrating when a team abuses it, and absolutely destroys the pacing of many games.

Thats all I can think of currently.

What I want is not possible as I know they would never change Reach majorly.

I agree with you to the extent of Halo: Reach does need some fixing. I just feel that it doesn’t need to be another remake of Halo 2. Where the only weapon used was the battle rifle for everything. I mean what is the entire point of weapon diversity, if you have one that beats everything else. And thanks for listing.

I will add what I think is realistic to the list. Hope you don’t take offense. Thanks for the input though, feel free to add more.

-Bloom expands and contracts faster.
-Default movement speed, jumping, and gravity should all be increased. 120/125/200 would be plenty.
-Magnum gets an increased clip and a teeny bit more power.
-A proper ranked playlist(s).
-All the half-open doors on Countdown’s third floor need to be fully opened.
-Remove the break room, operations, and shotgun windows from Sword Base.
-Restore the plasma launcher and focus rifle to their beta glory.
-(if possible) Re-skin several community maps to help them stand out from the crowd better.
-Make us able to fire two sniper shots before that bloom sets in (like the beam rifle).
-Remove sword block, add sprint cooldown for melees to counter it.
-Add sprint cooldown for melees, just not firing.
-Revert all AA’s to pickups.
-Bring back the double overshield as the standard, and switch the effect from the flames to the covie overshields they get from an engineer.
-Nerf grenades, and increase damage in all playlists.
-Change voting system to mimic firefight - the map is the same in each lobby, only the gametype options differ. OR just get rid of voting altogether.
-Add boundaries to forge world. Anything we place inside them (lights, FX, gravity*, etc) only applies to the edges of the boundary. Also let us name them.
-Increase vehicle resilience to DMRs considerably, with the sniper still doing a similar amount of damage.
-Revert elites to the old models, have their traits match the spartans, and make them regularly playable characters again.

On top of that, please do what Bungie was too stupid (or maybe too lazy) to do, and actually fix the maps themselves, instead of shuffling playlists around like a mad scientist.

Okay, added most and edited some.

Let’s see real ranking system, not this linear CoD style one. Let’s have the 1-50 back.

Here’s my input for the gameplay that hasn’t been mentioned yet (I don’t think):
+Reduce melee speeds on all weapons. Double beatdowns happen in what seems like 1 and a half seconds, they are far too fast. Faster than any Halo game.
+Add a jump height and increase gravity so that it resembles Halo 2.
+Increase the fuse time on frag grenades.

Too be honest more armor would be great,

Move the classic playlist to the main section of matchmaking so that it gets more players. Right now there’s hardly anyone playing it, which means less hosts to choose from and worse connections. Let every Reach player know that it’s there and that they should give it a shot. Kind of like Bungie gave everyone an incentive to go play Team Arena by introducing an 18k credit jackpot.

Everything else people have added sounds solid.

4 main things i would like to see changed:

1.) make it so if you full-auto-spam your DMR / needle rifle, you will lose 100% of the time against someone who is pacing their shots, regardless of the range.
2.) nerf the grenades so they arent mini nukes.
3.) revert the melee system to bleedthru melees.
4.) nerf armor lock’s duration by taking off 3 or 4 seconds of its duration.

other changes would include:

-making it so you cannot use the sword / hammer for 2 seconds after you have sprinted (to prevent abuse)
-changing base player traits to make spartans run MUCH faster, and jump higher.
-giving us more options to tweak individual weapon damages / bloom algorithms / etc.
-nerf the bubble shield a little bit (in how much damage it takes before it pops, or how long it lasts)
-buff hologram somehow
-change invisibility to make the ‘radar jamming’ not have the spartan with invis in the direct center of it at all times (so using invis isnt like saying ‘IM RIGHT HERE’ to good players XD)
-changing sprint so if you are damaged while sprinting, you stop sprinting, and cannot sprint till 2 seconds after the last damage you have received from an enemy.

I am one of those that like playing Reach now. I ,however can totally see how all of those 4 changes would make my already great experience into something magical. I would welcome those changes whole heartedly. The other ones I am not 100% sure on. For example I like sprinting with the Hammer , sorry :frowning: lol.

Reach did butcher it. To a bloody pulp. But it can be saved with the everything the community has stated for the last 10 months of trying to adapt and play it. We all know whats wrong with this game and a Title Update can fix it all and make Reach into the most Halo game we have ever played. Blowing the Halo 2 Era out of the water. Lets just hope 343i has been listening to the call and can reimagine Reach multiplayer into a Golden Age of gaming once again.
