Title Update Discussion

It is. Still i have a Level 50 in Halo 3. So i still played top end. Given this is my only account there was a learning curve. So my KD suffered.

Firstly save the lecture, i know how to combat this play style, and i defiantly know the diffence between a new player and a n00b.

That obviously isn’t the full description of a noob.

> Noun n00b (plural n00bs) (Internet slang, pejorative) A beginner, someone lacking skill, or someone who uses beginner tactics.

Now wouldn’t you agree that Double beatdowns and nade spamming is “beginner tactics”? Because it’s far too easy to kill this way. That’s the fundimental problem.
As i’ve said a thousand times, i play each frequently and maintain a high kill rate. You only have to look at my commendations, my CQB and Headshot and Precision is max (or close to). Again with my Weapons a KD of 2.5 with a DMR and 5.2~ with a Magnum. Im also possitive with beatdowns and grenades. So it’s not like i complain because i constantly get out smarted or owned consistantly so i whine about the game. (Quite the opposite)

This still dosen’t mean it’s ok. Sword blocks are dumb and can only be pulled off if A. You’re lucky or B. You have connection host or a low ping.

Oh finally, Grenades aren’t spammable, that argument is void. For these reasons…

When you kill someone you constantly pick up their 'nades.
Any 'nade dropped by other players don’t despawn instantly so there are far more grenades on a map than just spawn locations. Which are plentliful.

Take this situation, there is a face off around a corner. Without thinking players throw all their grenades. To me that is spamming.

> Spamming, in the context of video games, refers to the rapid, repeated use of the same item or action. For example, “grenade spamming” is the act of a player throwing a large amount of grenades in succession into an area.

Also a final factor this is amplified with team games and map. Have you never played multi - team? (Not including Crazy King or Elite Slayer Bungie already saw that problem and reduced the grenade count, still bad though.)

Oh and if you constantly run out of 'nades, you’re probably a spammer yourself

I forgot to add at the bottom that you said:

> **In reach there is no individual skill, in team games 1v1 battles don’t exsist you can always escape and run away because how long it takes to kill people as an individual, make bloom faster and solve this.

> And then proceeded to boast your individual skill level.

Reach deserves a REAL title update…

If Reach is your first game or Halo game in general you will like it. But if you invested some time in gaming(I play for about 10 years) Reach is getting very fast boring and you really see the many problems in this game.

Finally someone in the thread with some sense. 100% Agree.

@Katto Ryn
Thanks
Bungie is done with Halo. We all saw that they got less and less ideas and interest for Halo so it was a good step that Bungie is gone. Hopefully 343 will do some good games and not only books or action figures, that the most of us don´t buy
There will be the time when the fanboys and reach fans will understand us.

Please give this game more customizable options.

Allow people to adjust the bloom radii and reset time
Allow people to adjust individual weapon damage
Allow people to adjust the blast radius of explosives (rockets, grenade launcher, grenades, etc.)
Allow people to adjust things like camo visibility

If you do this, it will make both the competitive community what they want, while also tending to the leisurely players.

As nice as this would be, i cannot see any of these happening.
Maybe in the next game we will get to mess with advanced damage settings.

Im sure you mean for these options to be tweaked in Custom games right? because in matchmaking this would be the worst thing to ever do.

I think they could implement them, even if they had to put an update through xbox live or something. It’s definitely possible, just look at how the added FLAMING FEET to the guy with the over-shield in the the classic playlist.

Yes, I meant for custom games. :]

Some news on a title update would be nice.

I cleaned up the last page of this thread, removing the posts that were argumentative and off-topic. Feel free to continue discussing the subject the OP intended, minus the flaming and attacking of your fellow forum members.

those kind of adjustments would of made matchmaking alot better if they could of been able to swich them up till its perfect.

What’s there to understand? I myself simply disagree, and that’s not changing either.

The game for most part is fine, aside from the few bugs. Only one of which I’ve really run into and that’s because I deliberately searched for it. Not that it was hard because I’m talking about the gauss hog on forge world. Gameplay is in the same boat, and hardly needs changing if it’s needed.

Some people do like this game. Which is incomprehensible to me, but thats the way it goes. I’ve been a die hard fan since CE and I cannot stand this game. I guess that means that Halo no longer caters to my style of gameplay and I need to find something else.

Honestly dude, I think you completely miss the point of what 343i is… Just saying, it’s ironic to accuse others of being clueless when…

That and you actual accuse the additions and changes in Reach as “less ideas and interest in Halo.” You can say you don’t like them, but really? Accusing others of being fanboys and having little understanding of the current situation?

Tell you what, from all the fanboys to all of “you,” you’re welcome to hang with us in the Haloverse anytime. It’s a wonderful place of awe and excitement. You may find a thing or 2 in here that you like, and you’re welcome to have fun anytime

PS, I do really, really like the new “look” BS Angel. It’s got a lot to say with only a little bit of imagery. Most impressive.

I would love to see them fix everything !

I think one thing 343 really needs to take a look is the population count on all the Halo games. Well online multiplayer enabled 2,3, and Reach.

In it’s prime their is no doubt Halo 2 was THE GAME to play.
Halo 3 rode in on Halo 2’s success but was downgraded for the masses.
Halo Reach killed hope for the millions.

Let me explain…

Halo 2
Halo 2 had everything you could want for all players alike.

Ranked and Unranked <Why would you move away from such a successful approach.
Competitive players could fight it out in a very competitive environment .
Casuals could have fun playing for the love of the game.

The maps for the game even when it was just the launch maps were pretty awesome and fit well for their playlists.
It’s obvious by player numbers that most maps right off the start should cater to 4v4 games. Team Slayer is the bread and butter of what makes Halo.

Halo 2 had it figured out. Great 4v4 maps and good amounts of them. And a lot of the maps worked for BTB to.

Extra assisting…
For some players aim assist, melee lunge, bigger hitboxes, and bullet magnetism were awesome. It helps when the game lags it keeps the game moving at a faster pace and it keeps more casuals playing the game. It helps the skill gap tremendously. It’s the reason that Shadowrun wasn’t as popluar as it could have been. Why would you want to hop on a game occasionally when everyone playing it is going to romp on you? Halo needs to be more of a pick up and play to cater to the masses that have moved on to CoD. I’m not saying make it super easy I’m just saying make it easier and fun like Halo 2.

Their is a ton more I can say about Halo 2 but I’ll move on to the next one…

Halo 3
Halo 3 had a big population of players because most of the initial mechanics of the game were left untouched. Some of the things in the game did drive more casuals away.

Leading targets…
In a lag free world this is ok but through live anything is possible when it comes to sub par connections. Hit scan was awesome and thats why it was brought back in Reach.

iffy map design…
Don’t get me wrong H3 had some good maps but nothing that compared to Halo 2. Bungie went with the more and bigger is better approach. More being more spots to camp bigger being where the hell are all the nice 4v4 maps? Or even arena style symmetrical maps.

First attempt at breaking the golden triangle…
Bungie didn’t completely ruin the way Halo was played just yet with the inclusion of equipment. It was just like a more varied form of the camo and overshield pick ups. Some actually had pretty good uses.

Overall Halo 3 wasn’t bad and not that much different from H2 but it could have been a bit better.

Halo Reach
Where should I begin…

Bloom…
The idea is ok but really it’s not for Halo. In a game that strives to be competitive yet fast paced you don’t want to have things slowwing you down. You can pace your shots with the BR in the other games when you get the exact timing down of the shots without the added ability to catch a random shot to the face.

AA’s The destruction of the golden triangle…
And no not just armor lock. All aa’s have something that makes them bad… The ability to spawn with them. Every single AA’s slows the game down.

Camo: You go stealthy others hide from your stealthyness.
Armor Lock: You rockatize people rage.
Evade: Getting shot at? Roll out!
Sprint: Getting Shot at? RUN!
Drop Shield: Get shot at drop cover
Hologram: Not as bad at slowing things down but it still can
Jetpack: Getting shot? Fly to a second floor.

Their are many more things I could say about AA’s but I’ll just leave it at that.

No Ranked/Unranked…(The reason Reachs population isn’t doing as good as previous games IMO)
Halo can’t survive in a mixed sea of ranked/casual players. The idea of not having ranked and unranked playlists was the dumbest thing to happen to Halo. Unranked kids want to enjoy themselves not get matched up with competitive people. Hardcore competitives can only stand not having a challenge for so long. Bungie is really the only company to this day to pull the ranking system off to near perfection. Why run away from it? It was a bad move for all the players sake.

Horrible Maps…
DLC maps are actually pretty good but the launch maps were the worst out of any Halo game. I don’t even want to explain. I am sure many vets of the Halo series would agree. But please make sure your launch maps are good. You don’t want people quitting the game only to try to win them back with DLC to fix the holes from the launch maps. Good launch maps are a MUST for the next Halo.

So to sum things up the next Halo game must cater to both casuals and competitive players alike. Some people might say Reach is noobified but that is most certainly not the case. HR had the least assisting of any online Halo game. Aim assist, bullet magnetism, and all that other stuff doesn’t make the skill gap for pros much smaller either. Pros will be pros casuals will be casuals but their will be less casuals if the game is almost impossible to pick up and play. The addition of armor lock and bloom doesn’t mean Reach caters to noobs either those are just fail mechanics to the game that can be used and abused by all players.

Please 343… Bring the fun back to Halo!

I don’t think everyone will agree with everything I have to say. Thats alright with me. Everyone has their own opinions and I would like to hear what others think.
