Ha, it’s not smart to run straight at needlers you know. Seriously, get close to them.

I don’t know if 343 have no choice but to keep it, but AL was the most ridiculously stupid and poorly thought out idea ever conceived ever, and a blatant attempt to remove skill from Halo. What’s the point of a shotgun if a noob can AL, and melee me without me having even pulled the trigger? If someone can’t survive without it, then they should be dead. They were outskilled, no excuses.
>
> ARENA: Still no more playlists promised. Why? Because Team Arena must obviously show all types of skill in Halo (NOT). Team slayer tests one skill, slaying as part of a team. NOT INDIVIDUAL skill, Objective play, Doubles play or anything like that. Arena needs these playlists or it is meaningless as a way of showing a player’s true worth at the game. Just because a player got Silver at TEam Arena doe snot mean they wouldn’t get Onyx in FFA where they are not let down by teammates constantly.

> Well done 343, you have failed to inspire me and give me confidence in making Halo Anniversary any better than the shambles that is Halo Reach.
Two things
I like armor lock.
I believe most of the title update takes effect on october 4th.
You do know that this is still pre-Beta right? They just threw it out there for people to play with but the actual Beta starts in a few days. So calling it a failure before it even actually began is kinda dumb. You want knew maps? 6 of them will be here on November 15th.
My god. Stop complaining about armor lock. Just adapt to the situation that you are presented with, in most cases if you go up against a person with armor lock 99% of the time you will win. Grenades are great way to solve the problem. “Skilled” players don’t need to have their kills taken because a “noob” presses a button. If you approach the situation right you shouldn’t have to complain on a forum because you (the skilled player) doesn’t get a kill. That’s all I have to say about that. Sorry, but it upsets me about the amount of complaining armor lock gets.
We definitely need more playlists in arena.
TL;DR I guess you are another kid that’s crying over more BS. No-one can be happy with what they have, instead they just complain, complain and complain some more.
Im happy. i honestly cant believe with reachs currently playability level that people wouldn’t be happy at all with the TU.
> No it isn’t a failure. It is a victory that they are even fixing the terrible game that bungie made. Anyway the title update is in its beta version. They will get the balance issues figured out. The only change I would really like to see would be increasing movement speed.
I pretty much agree. And increased movement speed doesn’t even require a TU, it just requires that the gametypes are changed accordingly.
The other change I propose (and I NEVER would have thought I’d ever say that) is to reduce melee damage to 90% or maybe even 75% in playlists where bleed-through is enabled. That the AR takes only six rounds to deplete the shield enough for a melee attack to be lethal is rather bad. Even more so since other weapons take even less hits; two (yes, only TWO!!!) from the needler and plasma pistol each, and four from the plasma repeater. Otherwise Reach will turn from a shooter into a beat’em up.
> Ok, so bloom has been removed, so the TU has not been a TOTAL failure. But it is about as close to it as you can get.
I agree that more needs to be done but:
I hate AL but it helps when you are overwhelmed so the nerfing is helpful. The timer decreasing per hit works.
Arena? Eh I got nothing to say about that.
We will get more maps either with Anniversary or as a DLC pack later this year.
Grenades radius is still a little too big but 343 says nothing sighs
Needler overpowered? Really? It’s fine.
What? No.
To those of you who have been on the waypoint forums for the past few days, you may have seen me trolling the title update threads.
Allow me to give you my opinion on the TU and what I predict the results will be for the title halo: reach, and upcoming titles in the franchise.
Personally I dont like bloom, on paper, its a good new element that will diversify gameplay and reward pacing shots, in the field, it optimizes mid range combat and makes for interesting scenarios, but for close range it breaks combat and gives things away in some situations, which should happen 0% of the time.
However, although I think bloom is bad, I think bleed through is worse. I know the community of this franchise and ive been running with the chief back on the bnet forum since 2006 and people HATED bleed through. So all in all, I think its a good thing that bleed through is in for beta hoppers, this should remind everyone why it got taken out, and eventually have it taken out for the official TU and halo 4.
Now for some reyaweks prophecies,
I think that beta hoppers will be a huge success and reassert halo’s position in the MLG community as well as giving MW3 more than a run for their money a year into reach’s release.
By the spring of 2012 the number of No bloom playlists will match the number of vanilla playlists, with a RoF cap for the Dmr, Needle Rifle, and the Magnum.
Halo reach will go down in records as one of the best games in the franchise; 1. for armor abilities added to the equation, 2. for buffing content and pushing halo once again into a brighter tomorrow.
I’m not sure if you’re trolling but no I don’t think the Classic Gametype will save Reach. Reach has fallen both in the Halo universe and ours.
> By the spring of 2012 the number of No bloom playlists will match the number of vanilla playlists, with a RoF cap for the Dmr, Needle Rifle, and the Magnum.
That is providing we ever get more than a single zero bloom playlist. 343 have been saying every time they talked about the TU that they believe in 85% bloom and that Zero Bloom won’t have a place in anything but the odd playlists, primarily due to how it screws up the weapon balance.
> I’m debating this myself. I kind of want to see how it feels with and without sprint. No other AA should make it to the classic playlist, that is for sure.
Tweak the settings and try it then, as long as you use that gametype as your basis you can essentially replicate any mode and it won’t have bloom.
What parts of the TU can you use right now? Does the No Bloom gametype include all of the other TU changes? (armor lock, sword block, 3 shot magnum, etc)
Shield Bleedthrough
Patched AA’s
No Bloom
And that’s it. The pistol is not a 3sk yet, but it will be in the next batch of settings.
Thanks.
Sorry to sound dumb. But where do I find the title update?
I only was prompted to download Cortana’s Chip for 240 MS points. Please tell me thats not it. Soooo not paying for a Title Update. lol
The TU is free. You should have to download it automatically once playing Reach. However, if you have the preview disc of Reach, the TU is not currently downloadable for you right now. They are working on a fix for it.

They have all ready released the fix for preview disc users. They provided an email with a code to download Game on Demand version of Reach. Then told us to discard the preview disc and use the Games on Demand from their on.

My mistake, I did not realize a fix was already in place. Then there should be no problem with his TU.
