Ok, so bloom has been removed, so the TU has not been a TOTAL failure. But it is about as close to it as you can get.
The many items of failure:
ARMOUR LOCK = just remove it. It doesn’t work, it stops skilled players from getting kills because some noob can press a button, and makes power weapons useless. No nerfing will change that. I don’t know if 343 have no choice but to keep it, but AL was the most ridiculously stupid and poorly thought out idea ever conceived ever, and a blatant attempt to remove skill from Halo. What’s the point of a shotgun if a noob can AL, and melee me without me having even pulled the trigger? If someone can’t survive without it, then they should be dead. They were outskilled, no excuses.
ARENA: Still no more playlists promised. Why? Because Team Arena must obviously show all types of skill in Halo (NOT). Team slayer tests one skill, slaying as part of a team. NOT INDIVIDUAL skill, Objective play, Doubles play or anything like that. Arena needs these playlists or it is meaningless as a way of showing a player’s true worth at the game. Just because a player got Silver at TEam Arena doe snot mean they wouldn’t get Onyx in FFA where they are not let down by teammates constantly.
MAPS: New maps are desperately needed. there is too much emphasis on close quarters play (Coutdown, Sword Base, to name a few), and not enough symmetrical maps which test mid, long and short distance.
GRENADES: They are not consistent. One minute one can kill a fully shielded player, the next it will barely scratch him when hit. They need to be made more consistent so players know where they stand with them.
NEEDLER: Massively overpowered, even compared to the needle rifle at long range. Must be nerfed.
CAMO: Make it so all players are hindered by a camo in the same team, so that there are more drawbacks to using it.
And I’m just getting started.
In all, I’m very dissapointed by 343s pitiful attempts to resurrect Reach into a real game where skill truly counts, and shows that they are only selectively listening to the community. Bloom was a biggie, but so is ranked play and it has been ignored.
Well done 343, you have failed to inspire me and give me confidence in making Halo Anniversary any better than the shambles that is Halo Reach.
