I honestly think the Revenent needs it’s blaster power increased. There are so many times I’m blasting a dude in the face and it takes 3 giant balls of flame to kill him?

And I would doubt it as well since 343 seemed to aim it’s first official Weekly at that loophole completely since they wanted a campaign mission done in under 9 minutes on Heroic. The fastest me and some friends have done was blowing through Winter Contingency in 10:58 i think. Nightfall is one of the few where you won’t get caught in a major delaying conflict while running through.

It’s possible to do it in less than 9 minutes while NOT doing the Forklift glitch, it’s just very hard, I have seen it done before, however, I have never seen any other mission to do it on.

You SHOULDN’T be sniping from an Revenant! that’s just broken

Wouldn’t you get caught with Jun and the Hunters without zipping through the door???

The fastest we’ve done it with the door is 5:29 and that’s because I got the luckiest set of running hops near the end that I practically flew over that final canyon area into the cut scene hahaha

Yeahh I have to agree with you there… I just can’t really kill people with the revenant anymore… so I kind of stopped using it… or when I do it’s more as an assist tool than anything… 2 hits and someone finishes the guy off…

Splattering is easy to do in it, it’s more of a backup vehicle than a killing one.

I find the Ghost to be more effective with it’s higher/longer boost rate. I’m always getting easily stuck or jacked from a splatter attempt with a Revenant.

FYI, ONI: Sword Base and Tip of the Spear are both do-able under 9 minutes. Especially in co-op.

Sword Base I could kind of see being do-able. TotS seems a bit of a stretch.

You guys should check out evade in the new gametype. Evade doesn’t do that super launch thing any more when you evade up an incline. It is perfectly balanced for a Spartan now and doesn’t over evade like it used to. It’s awesome. One change that I noticed and realized that must have been a glitch they went in and fixed.

I was already used to Evade as it was thanks to Infection but then that changed to Alpha Zombies and I lost my niche. This will be more effective and helpful in maps like The Cage at least.

first off i would like to say thank you 343 for listening and for the TU. i looked at the feedback threads and what i want to say didnt seem to fall under any of them so here it goes.

the thing i noticed the most when i played was how easy it was to kill one another at the same time with the weapons and melee. in one game me and my friend killed each other at the same time probly about 5 times in a row with just the pistols. the melee it happened nearly every time. i know it helps level the playing field with people who have bad connections but i would honestly rather die and my opponent live then have us both die when i didnt deserve the kill. please look into this 343.

constant timers: im not asking this to be in playlists i would just like to have this be an option in the menu. drop spawns work but not for powerups like active camo and Overshield.

melee lunge: i simply feel that if you are not close enough to melee someone then your character should not shoot foward like that. please either remove it or allow us to have the option to remove it in custom games.

the pistol: if you guys just left it alone i could live with that but there is always room for improvement right? halo ce’s pistol required you to lead people and combined with the small hitboxes it made 3 shotting people just as hard as nailing a headshot with the CE sniper rifle. add leading and it will make a 3 shot pistol not OP at all.

Powerups: yes they are usable but they could be better. overshield: make it a full 2x overshield please so that custom powerups arent needed. camo: grenades and melee shouldnt make you be visible but shooting should. in halo one after you fired your gun if you switched to a gun without a scope you would disapear quicker.

i ask you to consider this because you clearly arent a close minded bungie. BTW im not talking about the AA camo im talking about powerup camo. i look foward to playing some more REAL halo because thanks to you i can once again.

ARMOUR ABILITIES

Armour Lock - just remove it completely. If you are overpowered you deserve to die. Period. There is no point in a power weapon if armour lock is about. There is no skill to armour lock, hence remove it.

Camo- reduce the amount of time in camo, and make it so that your team have the mixed dots too, to make it fairer.

Holograms - keep. This is sensible.

Jetpack - make it a pick up, otherwise this can get overpowered. That way people have to think about how they use it.

Sprint - fine.

Evade - keep in Elite Slayer, but nowhere else.

ARENA

Seasons - remove these and make them an indefinite period, so that people can move up and down divisions over time, and make it so that true skill can adpat to multiple wins so that it doesn’t level lock you when you ahve won 20 matches in a row, but boost you to where you rightly belong.

Playlsists - more are needed. This is the only ranking system we have so it deserves to be applied to all major playlsists, FFA, Objective, BTB, SWAT, Snipers etc., so that these players also have something to work to, not Team Slayers only. Plus we can then see really who are the best at each playlist. Without this change Arena is a waste of time unless you are a team slayer, which I’m sure most people aren’t.

Plus it will remove the resentment of poor match ups in competitive play, because skilled players could get matched up properly in Arena.

Anyone else think that the move to remove doubles from Arena was one enormous step backward? Reducing playlsists is the opposite of what is needed!

MAPS

Pinnacle - just remove. The spawns are useless, and the map is too reliant on the power weapons, since it is very hard to kill on this map without them, and you always get one player on each team go +10 because of this and everyone else struggle. And why on Earth give one team the rockets and sniper to start off with, with a good chance of stealing the enemy sniper too? It is so biased it is untrue!

Think Twice - appalling map. There is no point to it, and the only way to get kills is to get lucky top mid, or hope the other team get bored of it.

WEAPONS

DMR - hopefully with bloom nerfed, it will help.

NEEDLER - way too powerful. Nerf it because its too powerful at mid to long range.

Any other additions are welcome, but this will do as a start, and will make the game run much better than it is now,

With the introduction of the no bloom custom I find it hard to even think about Reach gameplay. The only thing is that we still have Reach’s movement speed and jump height, not to mention movement acceleration in the custom gametype. With zero bloom and the bullet going precisely where I want it to go, I would think it would provide a more skillful setup and overall better experience to incorporate a little more tweaks to the whole zero bloom aspect of gameplay, such as zero movement acceleration.

This would mean that when moving instead of gradually reaching your top speed, you move at full speed no matter if you stop and go, or are strafing. This combined with the less aim assist, nerfed nades, zero bloom and bleed through already present would just make gameplay even more fun and skillful in my opinion.

Your thoughts on zero movement acceleration? Discuss.

the strafe acceleration does need to be closer to instant thats for sure. Movement settings in general are kinda odd since as you increase speed and jump height the game becomes floaty…gravity solves this somewhat though

Hello! First i wanted to say that i really love 343 for updating reach,so many fans is happy about this<3
It brings back the classic feeling of previous halo games.I Really like it,Good work 343! Remember your fans love you<3
But i heard alot of people complaining about the title update,they say BRING BLOOM BACK!!!1111oneone
or things like,noo they have ruined reach,i mean,dont you guys understand that bloom has never been removed? its just in custom games now,and no bloom is a good thing.

But if you love bloom and the other stuff go and play normal reach,and let the people that likes no bloom play no bloom.

There is nothing to be mad about,343s goal with this was to bring back the classic feeling of the other halo games,and they succeed.

Judging by the forums and my mates I play with on XBL, the TU has received widespread positive reception!

Though there are very minor issues (perhaps too fast kill times), 343i has done a marvellous job.

CONGRAGULATIONS 343i, you’re taking this game in the right direction.

So everyone is busy talking about bloom, bleed through and AL changes (All good), but what about everything else that needed changing, but was never mentioned by 343? Can people test to see if the following has been changed:

  • Reduction of Sniper/DMR damage against vehicles, increase Plasma damage vs vehicles
  • Banshee flip made to eat boost bar
  • Major damage/projectile speeds increases on Plasma rifle/Plasma repeater/Spiker to make them competitive with their human counterparts
  • Minor AR buffs
  • Plasma launcher buffs (Firing rate/ projectile speed)
  • Gauss hog fixes in forge world
  • Bullet magnetism adjustments on hitscan weapons
  • Updates to forge world maps in multiplayer for better performance (Asylum comes to mind)

And keep in mind the no-bloomness when testing damage buffs of AR (which will be powerful with no bloom, no doubt) and Covenant weapons.

  • Assist system is still broken
  • Full parties still match randoms
  • Trueskill filter is hardly used at all
  • Firefight needs a gametype with more enemy vehicles
  • Betrayal glitch (touch teammate and jump off map)
  • The messages shown while searching still haven’t been updated to match Arena ranking changes (W/L vs. Ratings)

So after finally taking a break from Gears 3 today (its a damn good game, particularly since its no longer Shotgun Russian Roulette online) and got around to trying the TU and Zero Bloom gametype. I have to say it was pretty good, though I still have reservations about certain things (I’d rather have 75%-65% rather than 0% bloom, Armor Lock needs to drain faster when being damaged etc).

However, I did come to a conclusion on one thing particularly after looking at the various populations of playlists.

343, you need to choose one group of settings and use those settings as the universal settings across all non-specific playlists (IE: MLG, Grifball or Classic). Halo: Reach will simply not have the population to support having essentially three different styles of gameplay.

Find one good setting and make it the universal settings for Reach. I’d rather have settings I’m slightly upset with than have to see playlist after playlist die simply because there are too many. Hell, Reach can barely support the playlists it currently has.

Gears 3 just came out and Reach already took a hit. Battlefield 3 comes out next month; there is another. Modern Warfare 3 comes out in November, as does the first Gears 3 DLC. A simple campaign re-master and a fancy DLC with a TU isn’t going let reach come out in the next two months un-battered. It will hardly do any better if you try to please 3 or 4 different groups and have to even more playlists to try and please them.
