They said not to expect a major update… sooo yea… maybe you need to read and not make up rumors :slight_smile: by the way AL and Bloom are what need to be fixed. I have always loved Halo for the competitive aspect but Reach eliminates much of that competitive skill gap with AL and Bloom. AL isnt as bad because it can be turned off… Bloom is just BAAAD!

I don’t think much, if any, fixing can be made in terms of Bloom.

I think Armor Lock should be a pickup instead of an AA option though. It would end a lot of arguments.

Yea, as much as i disagree with adding Bloom to a Halo game i dont see it going anywhere atleast in Reach. Armor lock being a pickup would make it almost useless so idk about that. like i HATE AL lol but i believe that in order to keep it usable for the people that like it the duration should be shortened and you shouldnt be able to Melee, AL, Melee. OH! and for my personal Pet Peeve… if you get stuck before you go into AL… you should still die >.> lol

That way AL can still be used on spawn for the people that like to use it and it can protect them and such but it wont be OP in most situations

For the love of god 343i fix the vehicle boarding. It’s such a pain in the -Yoink- to use X button, just change it back to the way it was in halo 3. Reach is loosing players!!!

Serious request by the way. Anyway I’m pretty much in agreement with those who don’t want reach changed. I’d be willing to agree to tweaks but fundamental changes as has been stated aren’t needed.

Armor lock being an example, it shouldn’t be completely nerfed. All it needs is for the user to be potentially killed while activating and coming out of it. Also known as frosting from what I can gather. So yeah I agree that they shouldn’t just escape death, and so there needs to be a window of opportunity for that kill.

Weapon sandbox being another, the DMR doesn’t need to dominate everything. It needs to be it’s own niche like everything else and be able to work out side of it. To put it simply, all weapons can be effective at mid range, but are better for what they are made for.

I don’t play online all of the time if at all. That said I have yet to notice a lot of what people are complaining about. Kill times run speed, things like that. More than likely because they aren’t a problem, but hey who am I? The only problem I have are the two above; armor lock, and vehicle boarding. Aside from the known glitches and such of course.

bloom could easily be fixed to not let spammers win a SINGLE DMR battle out of 100 times tried vs a pacer. it wouldnt even be hard to do:

just make max bloom doubled, and proportionally increase the rate in which bloom decreases too.

I don’t have any major problems with Reach. Yea there are things that I wish were a bit different and sometimes I get frustrated when I forget and fall prey to them sometimes, but there’s nothing 100% game breaking that I’ve found. Bloom pretty much makes sense to me to be able to fire quicker at close range and pace shots at distance. Armor lock only needs the slightest of nerfs but I’m not completely sure what. (Maybe only one use per charge, idk.) The AR and certain Covie weapons could use slight buffing, probably the warthog armor strength too. Even without these changes though I still enjoy this game.

I honestly don’t see the problem with a risk vs reward system. As long as it’s still there then I wouldn’t mind some tweaking to make it more risky. Just not so much to were there’s no point.

Seeing as 343 is going to be the group that will be in charge of all major changes to Reach, I thought it appropriate that I move my Title Update threads here, as friendly suggestions as to what to do with certain controversial topics in Reach. So this thread is about changing Armor Lock, one of the most controversial topics ever. Lots of people don’t like it in its current state, and for good reason.

I don’t like it either.

However, I do think that it’s a great concept, but was just executed poorly. Therefore, I’ve compiled a list of things that will make AL the AA that it was meant to be: a brief burst of invincibility to protect against harmful damage and splatters.

What should be changed with AL in the TU:

  • No shedding of pre-stuck grenades.
  • Shield status remains the same as before going into AL. Shields do not immediately rise when coming out of AL.
  • Two usages per charge.
  • Each usage is forced to last a total of one second.
  • No EMP. However, boosting vehicles can still be destroyed (i.e. Ghost).
  • No 360 turnaround. However, keep the 360 view.
  • If a player melees an AL user, he does not get stunned or lose shields.
  • No frosting.

I believe that all of these changes will make AL into a more fair and balanced AA. Rather than throwing it out completely, I’d like to modify AL so that it becomes that anti-splatter/damage AA at the time of its conception.

Remove Armor Lock from Halo Reach and place a Overshield and Active Camo as pickups on certain maps.

I personally don’t have a problem with AL but I’ve noticed a lot of people having a problem with it. I like this idea becasue it still makes the user (me) happy.

All we do is wait for a response. It would be nice if one of the admins could drop any information. Yes or No would be fine.

Sadly, this is MW2 of Halos. Compare it and you’ll see a lot of similarity’s, way to many actually :frowning:
Activision, cut content, massive lag, no updates to gameplay, rejected by the regular gamers (not only “hardcore”), cheap and rushed, expensive DLC that adds little new (noble), no fixes to issues, almost no vehicular warfare, the studios end up at Activision, etc. :frowning:

I won’t repeat what everyone has said already, but Reach got many issues that must be fiixed, from core gameplay where bloom rewards spammers, to vehicle physics with the flying W-hog, to weapon balance (dmr beats all) and AAs not improving gameplay (Armor lock/camo) but leads to camping.
But, what every you do, I’m sure it will be better then Reach is now :wink:
To bad they can’t add dedicated server now, it would have improved reach by 100x to me, I can’t play on laggy p2p with foreign hosts no more when I played on lag-free dedicated servers. It’s so easy to get used to bullets hitting the target, enemies not vanishing, and no lag/teleportations…

I think of gears of war 2. Except epic tried to fix that game. It had horrible balance issues when they tried to introduce new weapons, map types, and features. It died…halo is…dying

i do miss the 1-50, but definitely not the boosters. maybe we could show trueskill next to your name but still keep the current credit determined ranking system

The Banshee needs so many fixes. Something needs to be done about the evade/flip spam. Its just a joke. I’m sick and tired of suggesting fixes, and sick and tired of nothing being done. It ruins entire maps.

please fix the bloom or remove it it makes engagements have random results and slows down the kill times, remove the no bleed through on the dmr and needle rifle to allow them to be 4sk and 6sk weapons, that will speed up the kill times and make the game more enjoyable.

Fix bloom
Fix armor lock- its to powerfull
Fix evade- 2 flip=200 feets
those are the worst
adn i know there is a lot more to fix.

I dont know if it fits here in the thread but Bungie finally admit that their Reach maps suck.
So fix Maps.
