BASICALLY… (this is what I’ve compiled… correct me if I’m wrong please)
Default Reach:
Damage Bleedthrough (I think it’s for all playlists)
85% Bloom (15% Reduction)
Armor Lock nerf
Active Camo nerf
Sword Block nerf
And the “overpowered 3SK” people proclaim will be tamed and controlled inside of the Anniversary/No Bloom playlists.
Why would they still have Reach in the condition it’s in, in it’s own seperate playlist? That wouldn’t make sense. These above affect YOUR Vanilla Reach. (AA’s, no 3SK Pistol/DMR/NR, etc.). Pretty sure Sword Block is in the other playlists as well. Better be! LOL…
Wow i got to say I read the Halo bulletin and again wow. I think this could get me playing reach again and does fix, in my opinion, all of reaches problems but not only that you have fixed them you made them tweakable and thats inspired. (but i bet people will still complain lol)
PS this isn’t supposed to be a suck up to 343 thread. Im just REALLY glad they fixed reach, I think we can all say it needed one
Wow, I’m really looking forward to 85% Bloom. It looks like it will work, and it will work way better than 100% Bloom. And Armor Lock is getting nerfed, the Sword is becoming powerful again…what a glorious day!

Wait, what? I thought bloom was bieng removed? Have I missed something here?

Bloom is still getting removed from Classic, but a new 85% Bloom feature may come into certain parts of vanilla Reach.

For those who don’t want to read through the post to find it, here is the quote that states what I told JAMES.
“What we’ve found is keeping some bloom actually allows the headshot weapons to feel more rewarding and reliable without overpowering them. In fact, the number we’re currently sweet on is 85%. At a 15% reduction, the DMR feels a lot better, without the Needle Rifle becoming Dolphin Gun, Destroyer of Worlds. In that way, we may find ourselves with a happy medium. That’s not to say that “Zero Bloom” doesn’t have its place in this new world order.” - bs angel

RAGHRAGHRAAAAAAAAAAAGHRAGHARRR
WHY AREN’T THEY REMOVING BLOOM IT’S A RANDOM PIECE OF CRAP I WANT IT GONE IT WASN’T IN HALO 3 THAT’S A LOAD OF…
loljk. Yeah that makes more sense. And it certainly allows more options. But that would mean you’d have to DL a gametype on every variation of bloom% to get the full set. Also did I read right when they said they coud make the magnum automatic? O_o

Yes and yes.
But the Magnum wouldn’t be automatic in the sense that the AR is automatic. It’d be automatic in the sense that the Needle Rifle is automatic.
I like what they’re doing, but I’m a little annoyed that there’s been no mention of light vehicles and the Banshee seeing any rebalancing or for any real glitches like the Gauss Hog’s penetration being fixed.
Not having any UI hooks to modify gametypes ourselves is also disappointing. I hope that if they release a second update those are all addressed.

I’m pretty sure that they’re adding the new settings as Megalo features – Megalo being the scripting engine/language that all gametypes are written in.
Based on that, I think that they can add UI hooks after the TU initially goes live, by editing the gametypes in Matchmaking. For example, adding a “Bloom” option with a set of predefined values (e.x. “100% Bloom”, “85% Bloom”, and “0% Bloom”) could (I assume) be done the same way Bungie modified Assault post-release to have a “Type” option with values of “Symmetric”, “Asymmetric”, “Neutral”, and “Grifball”. Sword Block could be made a toggle the same way that Super Shields is now a toggle. Et cetera.

I’d be perfectly fine with that. I forge and play around with gametypes a lot so comprehensive options are really what I was hoping for the most aside from fixing actual glitches and snadbox rebalancing.
Don’t get me wrong I’m very impressed with the changelist and can#t wait until the Beta hoppers go live but I do feel that some things have been overlooked.

I would love to hear some grenade fixes and hopefully something about an XP per playlist rank like the one shishka brought to halo 3. It was a great idea and worked really well

Agreed 100%. I for one am tired of driving around in the trampoline machine AKA the warthog.
